At the end of the case, it is revealed that the jewelry Sato had supposedly wanted to buy was in fact the one Yumi wanted. She used a ruse in which she told Sato to tell other officers that she wanted to buy some luxurious jewelry. The officers in question would then buy it to satisfy Sato, the one they love before the latter herself giving it to Yumi since she doesn't like luxurious ornaments. Takagi and Shiratori having fallen into her trap, she tells Numata that the next one that will fall into her scheme will be Takano.
At the end of the case, she and Yumi are in a police car.

Numata (沼田,Numata?) is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.
Background
Numata is a police officer working for Tokyo Metropolitan Police District's Traffic Department. She is very friendly with Naeko, so much so that she often pushes her to take initiatives in her love story with Chiba. She entered police forces at the same time as Yumi and is in charge of Beika Town. She owns a license to drive the mini patrol car although she doesn't drive it, preferring to let her more experienced friend Yumi drive.
Personality
She is rather open to her co-workers and friends' speeches and doesn't reply unless she has to. She also encourages her friends to take initiatives since she herself doesn't have a boyfriend.
At night, in Beika, she and Naeko are together in a back street and she confides in her friend by telling that she remembers someone she loves that attended school with her. She said she didn't go to the graduates' meeting since she thinks that guy has probably forgotten her. She encourages Naeko to go forward in the relationship.
