Masayoshi Sato (佐藤 正義 ,Satō Masayoshi?) is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.
Background
Husband, wife, and daughter.
Masayoshi Sato was Miwako's father. During his high school years, he was the baseball team's captain. He went on to become a police officer, attaining the rank of Senior Superintendent in the Tokyo MPD when he died on duty, eighteen years prior to the current timeline.
At the time, he had caught a criminal, Shuji Kano, who happened to be a friend of his and one of his four baseball teammates in high school, and was accompanying him to the police station. Kano, believing that there would be no hope for him in life, tried to commit suicide by running onto a road, so that a vehicle could hit him. He was saved by Sato himself, who was hit by a trunk and died soon.
His death affected his family deeply, and are painful to them even after so many years have passed. Kano was at large for another eighteen years, until Conan gets involved in the case and solves it.
