Masayoshi Sato (佐藤 正義 ,Satō Masayoshi?) is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.
Background

Personality
He was a righteous law enforcement member. He was also a good husband and father.
Appearance
He had short brown hair and brown eyes, and was not particularly tall.
Plot overview
It was eighteen years ago, a day with heavy rain. He had just arrested Shuji Kano, one of his four friends, for bank robbery and was escorting him to the police station. Believing that there was no hope for him in life, Kano tried to commit suicide by running into a trunk. He pushed Kano out of the way in order to safe his life, but he was hit and severely injured instead. As Kano ran away, he cried "surrender yourself, surrender yourself" (pronounced as "jishu shiro") while extending an hand in his direction. The passersby were not able to hear him clearly and thought that he was saying "Shuushirou", which is why the case came to be known as the "case of Shuushirou". He later died on the ambulance, in the company of his wife and daughter. Although still could speaking, he stayed silent on the identity of the robber, as he was hoping that Kano would listen to him and go to the police station voluntarily. This did not happen and Kano was at large for another eighteen years, until Takagi and Conan solve the case, so Miwako avenges her father and apprehends him.
Relationships analysis
Mrs. Sato
He has maintained a good relationship with his wife. On that day, when going to work, she told him to be careful. He replied while smiling that she should not worry, as an astrologer had predicted that he would have a good day.
Miwako Sato
He cared deeply about his daughter, and this was and still is reciprocated. When he was on the verge of dying, Miwako sobbed and asked her father why a person fighting for justice would have such a fate. He told her that the word "justice" should be kept in her heart. She still remembers this quote to this day, and additionally carries his old handcuffs around as an omamori.
