It is revealed that the mysterious man is Toichi Kuroba, Kaito's father, the first Kid, and that he knows Yusaku Kudo. Both are rivals, Yusaku is the one who named Toichi "Kid" from "1412". The "?" means "Will you be able to catch me next time ?", and the "!" means "Of course !". Yukiko seems to know Kuroba as well, since she attended make-up and disguise classes at his's some time ago (see Vol. 34-35).
