The Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story (本庁の刑事恋物語 ,Honchō no Keiji Koi-monogatati) series is a series of the Detective Conan manga and anime.

Suddenly, the woman screams and she is then found dead in her house with a wound from a knife. Conan thinks that these two cases are related - did the robbers kill the wife because she recognized one of them? He sees the man smiling at his wife's dead body. Yumi Miyamoto debuts in this episode, in a flashback with Takagi. Sato's, Takagi's, and Shiratori's characters develop fully. Shiratori becomes a full time Inspector. Sato and Takagi's budding romance is explored for the first time.

The man proclaims he is innocent and that needs to get on a plane tomorrow to attend his daughter's wedding. She tells Takagi to solve the case before the time and not to inform the police. The Tokyo police department send out a massive manhunt for the suspect, Sato, and Takagi. Sato and Takagi's romance is once again explored.

With the help of the Detective Boys, the case is solved. However, the building Sato and the suspect is trapped in is about to be blown up. With all the ruckus of the people, they are unable to warn Agasa who created a special bomb called Tropical Rainbow, a bomb that explodes with all the colors of the rainbow. Conan manages to knock Agasa out before he pushes the button to demolish the building. Takagi is also extremely relieved when he finds out that Sato only sees Inspector Megure as a fatherly figure. Takagi is relieved when he learns that Sato only thinks of Megure as a father figure.

A serial arsonist sets huge fires across the city and Takagi and Sato with the Detective Boys are out to solve it. It turns out this is also the day the case of Sato's father's death will be annulled, and the bank robber will be able to keep the money he stole from the bank. Sato sets out to solve both cases before the day ends, but Takagi has been attacked by the arsonist. Masayoshi Sato's first appearance. Sato's feelings for avenging her father's death are displayed. When Takagi says a line similar to the last thing Sato's father said to her on the day he was killed, she gets very scared. Takagi and Sato's budding romantic feelings for each other are once again on display. Sato lets Takagi use her treasured handcuffs, the ones her father used. After she learns that Takagi dissappears, Sato is also very determined to find him. Sato's past is explored. Her father was also a policeman, but he was killed by one of his own close friends. Sato is set out to find this person.

After Ai reveals the pattern of the arsonist attack, the Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko run into the arsonist who attempts to kill them. Takagi is revealed to be inside the warehouse the arsonist set fire to. He can't break the handcuffs due to them being a momentum from Sato's dead father. Conan manages to arrive in time and stop the arsonist, but does not realize Takagi is in the burning warehouse. Meanwhile, the clock strikes midnight and the suspected bank robber explains everything to Sato, saying how his father saved his life. Sato reveals that due to the typhoon in Italy, the anull date was moved forward by one day. Takagi seemingly dies but appears with his handcuffs attached to the window bars. He collapses in Sato's arms. Even though Takagi knew that he could have shot the handcuffs to escape from the trap that was set, he was still determined to never shoot them, and find another way out, knowing how much those handcuffs meant to Sato. A bewildered Sato sees Takagi, her feelings for him finally growing stronger when she learns that not only is he safe, but that he cared so much to not even touch the handcuffs. Due to this, Sato and Takagi go on a date! However, the date turns into another case, as Megure calls them both before they can even begin the date, to monitor an escaped convict. We finally learned what happened to Sato's father on the day he died.

Conan is on the way home from Osaka, before so, he gives Ran a phone call as Shinichi. Later, they meet Sato and Takagi on the train who are transporting a drug dealer to the station. Sato goes to investigate a bomb and Takagi is tricked into letting the drug dealer go to the bathroom. Later the bomb was found out to have been a distraction. They rush back and find the drug dealer stabbed with a knife. Takagi wants to go on a date with Sato, via tickets to a show that Yumi gave him, but will he get up the courage? Takagi wants to take Sato on a date.

Conan, Takagi, and Sato come to the conclusion that the victim originally tricked Takagi, and then was murdered while Takagi was running to Sato. Conan points out the suspects of who the murderer is. After investigating and finding clues, Conan reveals the culprit. He tries to escape but is stopped by Takagi and Sato. Sato and Takagi's budding romance is explored.

Sato is having an arranged marriage meeting with a man due to her mother's persistence. She arrives to find out it's Ninzaburo Shiratori. She proposes that if Takagi does not arrive to her before sunset, she will marry him whether she wants to or not. He accepts, but Takagi is busy with a store robbery. Three of the eye witnesses all give different description and three culprits are kept in the back of the police car. Conan on the phone prepares to help Takagi solve the case as Kudo Shinichi. Takagi is determined to not let Shiratori marry Sato! Also, Yumi has a plan that involves Takagi running in to save Sato just in time. Sato and Takagi's feelings for each other are heavily explored. Everyone knows about their feelings for each other, except Sato and Takagi themselves!

Takagi solves the case and arrests the culprit when he tries to make a dash out of the police car. Takagi catches up and gives up on going to Sato in time to stop the marriage as the sun is almost set and the car is too far away. His party comes to cheer him on and he runs. Conan manages to stop the marriage in time with Tomoaki Araide's help. Takagi manages to reach the restaurant but the sun has completely sunk. He then sees Sato around the corner who tells him he told her an emergency case has come up. Takagi smiles as he enters the car. Meanwhile Shiratori leaves the restaurant, disappointed in his close marriage. Conan comments how Takagi and Sato reminded him of Ran and himself. With a little help from Chiba, Conan, and Dr. Araide, Takagi is able to stop the almost kiss! And we get to know why Conan is helping Takagi with his love! Before she is about to kiss Shiratori, Sato finally admits to herself her strong feelings for Takagi, mentioning how much she'll miss him. Takagi stops the kiss in time!

A bomb explodes during a parade and the police believe it's the bombing case from three years ago. Sato is acting strange when she see's Takagi's disguise who resembled her previous partner. Conan realizes that the bomb was a distraction for something else. Jinpei Matsuda's first appearance. It is hinted that Sato is in love or "still" in love and can't let go of Jinpei.

After solving the case, it was revealed to not be related to the bombing three years ago but a simple bank robbery. Sato later breaks up with Takagi explaining every man she loves dies. Takagi tried to confess to Sato while holding her hands. However, he didn't manage to get enough courage to do it...

The death of Sato's last partner haunts her when she is put up against the same bomber. The bomber likes to place bombs around the city. Some bombs will display the location of an even bigger bomb if left for the last three seconds, this resulted in the death of Sato's partner in the past. After following clues placed by the bomber, Takagi and Conan are trapped in an elevator, where they await the bomb's clue to the location of an even bigger bomb. Conan disarms the bomb before the last second as he has already figured out the last part of the code. He stops the bomber and he is captured. Takagi and Sato almost kissed each other but is interrupted by Megure. The bombing cases from 3 and 7 years ago is explored... The death of the two bomb squad members who died on duty Hagiwara and Matsuda and some other officials. The terrorist resurfaces again and Sato decides to try and get revenge for Matsuda.

Takagi and Sato are on a date at Tropical Island while the Tokyo police force try and prevent Takagi from making a move with Sato. Later, the Detective Boys are bought up and Takagi and Sato are forced to watch over them. Later Takagi's bag with a wedding ring in it is switched, and Takagi finds out he has a bag of cocaine. Takagi and Sato are on a date! He plans on offering her a ring, but the other officers are jealous and interfere!

Yumi overhears that a promotion for Takagi will send him to a case in a far away place where he shall remain there until the case is solved. Apparently the case involves a large number of people in a crime organization, where he is expected to be there for three years. Later the Detective Boys are walking home when they noticed a strange jogger. Takagi, Sato, and Chou are placed on the case of a murder. The Detective Boys come across them and identify the jogger as the suspect. When they arrive, the suspect's alibi of video recordings proves he was there the whole time the murder took place, but the Detective Boys are certain he was the jogger. What's more, the alibi is confirmed by Officer Chiba, since it's his roommate. Chosuke Takagi is introduced.

Conan discovers that the suspect tricked Chiba's sense of time. He revealed that there was a re-air of the news, and it was dubbed. He also revealed that the culprit cut out parts and fast forwarded parts of the video to manipulate time. He also spun the time two hours behind, and slowly fixed it as the day dragged on. Afterwards, Takagi almost proposes to Sato but Megure reveals to him Chosuke Takagi is the one being sent for the case. They later take the Detective Boys to Karaoke.

The Detective Boys meet Takagi in a jewelry store, and soon after, they witness the store being robbed. They chase him to a nearby roof, which he jumps off of, killing himself. Conan notices several suspicious things about the incident, leading the police to believe that it wasn't as simple of a case as it first appeared to be, including the fact that the van he fell onto was being used by the culprit's former boss. At the end, Conan realizes that it was a murder, and who did it.

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are at a café when they run into Takagi who is aiming to pick up girls. Meanwhile, he finds Sato there doing the same. After a tense date with two strangers, Conan realizes from the conversation that a boy home alone is in danger. When they arrive at their house, the boy has been kidnapped. The kidnapper leaves an email demanding money.

After solving clues Takagi leaves suddenly and Conan reveals who the kidnapper is. Just then, the boy returns home unharmed, making them believe the culprit will try to make a run for it. After arriving to his house it is revealed that a winning lottery ticket was returned to the culprit in his mailbox, making him release his friends had no intention of stealing from him and the guilt of his crime caused him to suicide. Takagi manages to save his life while Sato yells at him for the danger he could have been in. Sato and Takagi almost kiss until they realise that Kogoro, Ran and Conan are in the backseat of the car.

Takagi and Miyamoto poses as a bride and groom in order to catch a serial killer/burglar who had threatened to kill the real bride and groom. When Chiba reports that the burned corpse of one of the wedding guests is found near the river, Megure deduces that the victim was killed by the serial killer in order to obtain the wedding invitation. A mysterious video arrives at the wedding party from a friend of the groom. After watching the video, Megure suspects that the killer is already in the chapel and Conan suggests that the bride meet with the guests in order to find the burglar who broke into her house. The bride reports that there are three suspicious guests: a photographer, a snowboarding instructor, and an internet administrator. The groom insists that the wedding to proceed, despite Megure's protests. As the bride walks down the aisle, the burglar suddenly appears. However, the groom announces that the burglar was actually a police officer, Chiba, posing as the burglar. Megure points out that Chiba has been by the river and the groom could not have figured out the burglar's true identity. Megure also reveals that the groom was the burglar's accomplice and in the end killed the burglar so he could marry the bride for money. When the groom attempts to escape, he is stopped by Conan and Ran. Lots of Sato and Takagi moments!
487	530-531	Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 8: The Left Hand's Ring Finger (1 Hour Special)	October 15, 2007			V56 - F1~3	Season 12
Sato has a ring on her left hand ring finger, which all the officers believe was given to her by Takagi, thus, making them angry at him. Sato receives a call from Ran that there was a murder. A fifty-two year old mystery author is murdered. Sato, Takagi and Kogoro was able to solve the locked room murder case through the hints Conan provided them.
530	581	The Truth Behind the Urban Legend (Part 1)	April 18, 2009			V60 - F6~8	Season 14
A person who murders people with a hammer dubbed "Hammer Man" has be spotted after a murder heading to an apartment. Sato and Takagi stalk out the apartment. After realizing there was no activity in the apartment, they enter the suite and find a man who's hanged himself. They then realize that the man who hanged himself is not the hammer man and that the culprit has impersonated a delivery worker and escaped. While Sato and Takagi are on a date, Sato suddenly asks Takagi to give her "a HOT kiss RIGHT NOW" only to be interrupted by Conan. When asked if they were pretending to be lovers as cover for a stakeout, Sato answers with a resounding "YES," to the shock of a disappointed Takagi. Later, during an investigation, Takagi discovers that Chiba and Sato would sometimes pretend to be lovers during their stakeouts as well. When Takagi asked if anything would happen during the stakeouts, Chiba mentions something that happened was "very soft".
531	582	The Truth Behind the Urban Legend (Part 2)	April 25, 2009			V60 - F6~8	Season 14
Inspector Megure, Sato, Chiba, Takagi, and Tome investigate the scene along with Conan, Ran, and Sonoko. After investigating the apartment, they find out the hammer man was actually a woman. They manage to capture her before she escapes, with some help from Shiratori. Bothered by what happened between Chiba and Sato in stakeouts, Chiba eventually tells Takagi that sometimes they held hands and Sato's hands were very soft hearing that's all what happened with Chiba and Sato and what happened between him and Sato (kiss incident) he realizes that because it was him (Takagi) that Sato requested something like a kiss, only because it was him.

Conan finds Hiramune murdered with the letter "Z" burned into his back. The police department arrive and are confused as the letter they were expecting was "N" as the previous victims had the letters "E", "S", "W" and were thought to be Cardinal direction. They notice the Hiramune's left hand was on his keyboard on the keys "Ctrl" and "C" and his right hand holding the wire of his mouse. Takagi and the Detective Boys decide to accompany him and his interrogation of the victim's relatives. Conan than realizes the victims share one thing in connection, Mahjong. Sato and Takagi make a promise if they arrest the serial killer in the next 3 days they will go on a date to a hot spring.

Later, Takagi comes to the conclusion that Kibo Dokurou is the serial killer. Conan notices something is strange about Hiramune's dying message, and realizes his message indicates the person who murdered him was a copycat killer. Conan reveals to Sato that Hiramune was actually the serial killer from the past. Conan reveals that Nabei Eiki is the murderer. Takagi who was ordered to bring Eiki to the police station was taken hostage by Eiki. Takagi is shot in an attempt to subdue Eiki from shooting the police. Takagi is later revealed to be saved by a mahjong tile in his shirt pocket. Takagi and Sato share their first kiss, with Takagi in the hospital. Takagi and Sato kiss for the first time!
568	619	Inspector Shiratori, Memories of the Cherry Blossom (Part 1)	March 13, 2010			V66 - F2~4	Season 15
At the movie theatre, the Detective Boys run into Shiratori, who is depressed because of Sato's affection being directed at Takagi. Shiratori reveals that he is in love with Sato because of an encounter he had with her in the past. Shiratori explains that Sato, as a young girl, stood up to two thieves by herself; Shiratori helped her stop the thieves and in return, received from her a drink with paper folded sakura, setting up an encounter that changed his whole life. Ai questions whether that girl was actually Sato, as their personalities differ greatly. During the movie, Shiratori runs into a woman named Nami Kasakura who offers him a drink with paper folded sakuras, causing him to consider the possibility she was the girl in the past and not Sato. After the movie, Kasakura tells Shiratori she is being stalked and asks him to investigate. At her apartment, Kasakura's boyfriend Yoshiro Soumei is found dead. Conan suspects Kasakura but her alibi supposedly states she was at the theatre the whole time and her eyewitnesses are him, Ai, Shiratori and the children. In the mean time, Shiratori is very disturbed by some things he finds in his surroundings...
569	620	Inspector Shiratori, Memories of the Cherry Blossom (Part 2)	March 20, 2010			V66 - F2~4	Season 15
Shiratori reveals his deductions and explains that Kasakura drugged him with sleeping pills and placed her tuque hat on him to create her alibi by having Shiratori impersonate her with her hat and using the darkened movie room to her advantage. Shiratori is saddened that the girl of his past has become a criminal, but is cheered by Ayumi who offers him paper folded sakuras and repeats the same thing the girl in Shiratori's past says. Ayumi explains she learned that from her teacher Sumiko Kobayashi, causing Shiratori to realize Sumiko was the girl from his past, and this is confirmed when he sees Sumiko with his own eyes and recognizes her. Shiratori's reasons to like Sato are explained, and linked to the girl who changed his life. Throughout the case, he wonders if she's actually Nami Kasakura, but it turns out she was the murderer of the case instead. Few afterwards, however, he finds out that she was actually Sumiko.
583	634	Kobayashi-sensei's Love	August 14, 2010			V68 - F9 ~ V69 - F1	Season 15
When the Detective Boys and Kobayashi-sensei go to see the fireworks, Sumiko gets left behind and overhears a quarrel and sees the figure of the culprit run away in the shadows and sees the stabbed victim. Conan hurries to the location where he heard sensei scream. Then they are questioned as witnesses by the police. After going to the restroom, Sumiko overhears the male policemen saying Shiratori was part of the "Sato Miwako Ultimate Defense Line" head and that Sumiko is a replacement for Sato. The other police believe that Shiratori is courting Sumiko solely for her similarities to Sato. This strains their budding romance, as Sumiko listens to this and tries to cut Shiratori off.
584	635	Inspector Shiratori's Lost Love	August 21, 2010			V68 - F9 ~ V69 - F1	Season 15
Shiratori has Sumiko listen to the three culprit's voices and has determined none of them was the voice that shouted out, and when she's done she storms out of the police station. Haibara explains Sumiko must have seen Sato and heard the rumors that Shiratori is only settling for Sumiko in place of Sato. Shiratori attempts to rectify the misunderstanding and confronts Sumiko revealing they met many years ago in a bookstore when confronting a pair of thieves. Sumiko is unable to remember the event and replies it must have been Sato. Later that night at the school, Sumiko receives a phone call asking to meet her at the music room when a presence behind her shocks her... Shiratori tries to mend the disagreement and explains the role that Sumiko played in his life, confessing to her. She doesn't remember, however, and sadly thinks Sato was the girl instead of her.
585	636	Timeless Sakura's Love	August 28, 2010			V68 - F9 ~ V69 - F1	Season 15
Sumiko enters the music room where the culprit proceeds to attack her. However, Sumiko manages to incapacitate the culprit with a suplex and she is revealed to be Sato in disguise. The actual Sumiko, the Detective Boys and Shiratori appear, revealing Sato replaced Sumiko in the hallway and naming the culprit to be Ryusuke Kodama. The Detective Boys reveal that Sumiko's testimony was correct, and that she mistaken Kodama to be a woman in the alley due to his long hair and the position of his arm making him seem as if he had breasts. Conan explains the woman's voice that was heard belonged to the victim, and that 09 was actually OS and stood for the first two letters of Osaka Nico Nico transportation; Shiratori reveals that they questioned the truck driver who saw the victim and Kodama entering the alley. Kodama confesses and explains that Sumida planned to kill Kodama to receive money from his life insurance to settle his debt and murdered her in self defense. Shiratori counters this, and the wording he uses unlocks Sumiko's memories from their shared past, leading to a love confession and their romantic relationship.

The detectives from the police department come to Teitan Elementary School to spread awareness on crimes against children, while there Kazunobu Chiba runs into the Detective Boys and tells them the story about tells them the story about his first love, Conan and the detective boys realize that his love letter is replied to in the form of a video letter and so they investigate its whereabouts and uncover the message that was left by the mystery girl of Chiba's dreams. First appearance of grown up Naeko Miike. We find out the identity of Detective Chiba's first love.

On their way from watching a movie Professor Agasa, Ai,Conan and the Detective Boys find a car that is filled with toys,upon closer inspection Conan sees signs of someone trying to break into the car he enters it and there is a strong smell of paint-thinners and on the roof of the interior of the car someone has written the word "DIE" in red spray paint,It turns out the car belongs to Detective Chiba,who contacts Yumi to help with the incident,and find out that there have been other cars that have experienced the same incident.Is thee culprit someone from among the 3 victims? Detective Chiba and Naeko Miike investigate a case together. The Detective Boys group realize that the junior patrolwoman working with Yumi is Naeko Miike, Detective Chiba's first love who they saw before and try to get Detective Chiba and Officer Naeko to get closer to each other.

Takagi is walking alone but later then approached by Yumi in a patrol car. Yumi expects Takagi to go for a date with Sato again but Takagi strictly says that "it is not a date". On the next day, a man appears to give a present for Sato via the Detective Boys. He says that the present is perishable so they must send it to him quickly. The man vanishes and Conan appears later on. After explaining something about Haibara and the Professor, Amuro appears to give reasoning about the previous case at the HQ too. Sato becomes anxious about Takagi's secret and threatens Chiba who was observing Takagi last night. He tells her that he got yelled at by Takagi after telling that the sticker coming out from Takagi's notebook had Sato's picture on it. After the Detective Boys send the present, Sato opens it and finds a tablet PC where there is a video letter in it. It shows Takagi bandaged and lying on a wood. Sato informs Inspector Megure about this and discusses about the planning of this case. Conan pours some ideas but later Superintendent Matsumoto arrives to give some orders. Sato then starts questioning the Detective Boys, and investigate the case. Chiba, who was ordered to continue observing the tablet PC, finds that Takagi is adjusting position on the wood and likely wants to commit suicide. However, Conan explains that Takagi is dropping his cop notebook to give a clue to someone down the highrise. Lastly, Conan discusses with Sato about a case related to this case. First appearance of Wataru Date, Takagi's former police mentor.

The police are still searching for the location where Takagi is being held at. Three people seem to be connected and through them, a person is suspected to be the kidnapper. Then, the police rushes to ambush him. Sato explains to the culprit that he has mistaken Wataru Takagi as Wataru Date who has dumped Natalie, her daughter, making her commit suicide. Actually, Date did not meet Natalie not because of dump intent but because he was hit by a car and died. However, before the culprit could tell the location of Takagi, he dies because of the poison that he took before the police arrived. Takagi continues to drop clues and hopes somebody will notice him but he later realizes that there is a bomb under the wood where he is lying. Date handed over his notebook to Takagi before he died.

The police notices the bomb under the wood where Takagi is lying is a time bomb that will detonate soon. The only hint for the location of Takagi is a recorded blurred footage which is referring to Sun Pillar phenomenon, deduced by Conan. Sato and Megure ride a chopper to go to Takagi's location. Sato jumps from the helicopter and saves the exhausted Takagi. Takagi feels like it's his fault not to have mentioned Natalie earlier about Date's death but later opposed by Sato. Takagi and Sato share their second and third kiss, much to the chagrin of the other officers.

After that small conversation, she stormed out of the cafe, where they were talking; when he came out, she was nowhere to be seen. As he tries to find her, a stranger watches him in a car, carrying an evil smile.

Conan, Shukichi, Professor Agasa, Haibara, and the Detective Boys arrive at Yureizaka and are heading towards a graveyard in the middle of that slope. The "seven" and "three" on the incense chariot piece refer to Kiyomasa's Seven Spears and the Three Great Spears of Japan. The overlapping region between the two spears represents Masanori Fukushima, a person of the Seven Spears who owns Hinomotogo, one of the Three Great Spears. The upside-down T is the cartographic symbol for graveyards. When asked by Professor Agasa who the kidnapper may be, Shukichi thinks back to a shogi match he played against the very same culprit. That incident was the culprit's motive for kidnapping Yumi. Yumi kisses Shukichi.

A girl from Haido Senior High School comes to Kogoro's office to tell him that she saw an alien in summer at her school. Kogoro, Conan, and Ran get to the school, but they see a big piece of concrete with some footsteps in front of them. Officer Chiba later comes out and claims that there was a murder not long before and a man was caught in it. It is said that the man was killed by an alien came out from an UFO in the mid-air and the alien escaped away with the UFO. Naeko sent a package containing reports about the consequences of obesity to Chiba.

Yusuke Kuchiki murdered Nakatsu because the latter had derided his latest effort in taking an actual UFO picture; the trigger for the murder was that Nakatsu suggested that he could submit even a picture of a fake UFO. Kuchiki used a solar balloon - a black, cylindrical plastic bag which floats if the air inside is warmed sufficiently - as the murder weapon, cutting off Nakatsu's breathing and forcing him into the concrete patch. Following Nakatsu's demise, Kuchiki let the balloon float away into the nearby Haido Park, where it eventually ended up in one of its trees, and then dropped himself onto his own deepened footprints (which would have betrayed his perpetration), erasing them. He merely concocted the "alien murderer" story in order to ward suspicion off himself. Naeko gets jealous as other female officers in the traffic department start to find Chiba attractive.

Yumi was unaware of Shukichi being a famous shogi player for a long time, mostly due to her lack of interest in investigating, and an apparent personal disinterest in shogi (she is more of a Mahjong type). She assumed Shukichi was a "meijin" at some minor game like shiratori or fishing. She eventually saw Shukichi on television and figured it out. After realizing that meijins can make 100,000,000 yen in salary, she desperately tries to reclaim an envelope he left for her, which her ornery building manager had seized. After Yumi had mistakenly put it in an old magazine and took it out to the trash on the wrong day. The envelope was given to her by Shukichi Haneda, and was said to open it when he had collected all seven. Those seven were figured out to be the seven titles of shogi meijin. The building manager, a shogi fan and a former pickpocket, looked inside the envelope to find the marriage registration form, and made a game that would uncover the 8 digit password for the marriage registration. The game was for the purpose to challenge Yumi, whom he called 'ChaCha', and to find if she was worthy of being Shukichi's wife. Yumi discovers that the envelope Shukichi had given her contained a marriage registration for them.

Conan folded the sheet of paper into a shape of a crane in two ways. The paper then revealed the hint "root five" and "root three", in which the password were 22360679 and 17320508 respectively. When the second password was successfully entered, the computer's webcam revealed the envelope was in Yumi's breast pocket. It turned out that the old man, being a former pickpocket, stuffed the envelope into Yumi's coat when she entered his house, and adjusted the temperature so cold that Yumi would not take off the coat. Meanwhile, Shukichi lost the last game and therefore was unable to acquire the seventh Meijin title. He then called Yumi to cancel the proposal. An angry Yumi then shredded the marriage registration form into pieces, all the while pretending not to know what was in the envelope, shouting to him so that he would try to get the seventh Meijin title the next time. However, Yumi was unaware that the title match only occurs once a year.

Naeko is late as she is daydreaming about Chiba finally recognizing her; while on the way to the police station, she meets Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys, and they are also looked at by a strange man who holds a grudge against traffic laws. After her shift is over, Naeko, Shiori Yagi, and Touko Momosaki decide to go to karaoke. After karaoke, the group splits as Momosaki notices a stranger asking for help about a strange noise nearby. It turns out to be a trap for her, but she quickly overwhelms him. However, as she is a little overconfident against him, the stranger takes the chance to kill her instead. The next day, Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys are walking on the street when a nearby traffic MPD receives information about Momosaki being dead. As the investigation goes on, Yagi seems to know who is behind this terrifying murder.

Yumi begins to recall when she, Yagi, and Momosaki charged three men for breaking laws a week ago, to which they replied harshly. Meanwhile, Yagi goes to the culprit's apartment and asks him to surrender to the police, only to be killed by him as well; like Momosaki, she also leaves evidence to point out the culprit. The investigation shows that the culprit was indeed one of the three men who were charged a week ago. Conan goes to Amuro to ask for information about the traffic case when Kuroda notices. Amuro then tells Conan about the case while thinking about how his attempt to break into Kudo's house was interfered with by Akai Shuichi. Shukichi Haneda also gets worried as Yumi hasn't answered his phone calls until now. On the way to the scene, Yumi notices someone is following her. Who is the one following her?
973	1030	The Target is the Metropolitan Police Traffic Department (Part 3)	March 21, 2020			V95 - F10 ~ V96 - F3	Season 25
While the investigation is still going on, Yumi is found lying down at the scene. It turns out that she asked Takagi to let her do this, but Takagi forgot to mention it, and Yumi fell asleep as well. Yumi states that Momosaki and Yagi must have looked at something specific before dying. The investigation also reveals that Yagi attempted to call 7155 for some reason. Consequently, Yumi calls Naeko at about 7155, but Naeko does not notice the strange man following her closely. The police also investigated the suicide, which coincided with the traffic charge. Meanwhile, when Yumi is going to her car, she is stopped by two drunk men, but luckily, Subaru is there to save her due to him receiving the message from Shukichi. Conan also appears in the first scene when Chiba is present; the two of them discuss traffic, and Conan suddenly realizes something, but someone is calling Chiba. It is Naeko, who has been held captive by the culprit. Shuichi appears as Subaru to protect Yumi from drunkards, after getting a text from Shukichi
974	1031	The Target is the Metropolitan Police Traffic Department (Part 4)	March 28, 2020			V95 - F10 ~ V96 - F3	Season 25
The information about the suicide coincided with the traffic charge is revealed. Conan reveals the true culprit of the two police murders to Chiba and explains the message the victims left for them. Kuroda informs the whole police station about the culprit and issues a wanted warrant for the culprit, as he is amazed at Conan's deduction. However, they struggle as there is no information about his current hideout. However, with Conan's deduction from Chiba's details, the two quickly arrive and capture the culprit. In a moment to save Chiba, Naeko pushes him out of the trap set up by the culprit; this also marks when Chiba finally recognizes Naeko. In the aftermath, it is revealed that Kuroda knows Amuro, as he called him Bourbon. Yumi sleeps in Shukichi's room. Chiba rescues Naeko from her abductor. She pushes him out of the way and gets injured on the leg from an arrow that was about to hit him. Chiba carries her to hospital, finally discovering she was actually his friend from childhood when they reach the crosswalk.
1033	1090	Taiko Meijin's Shogi Board (Opening Move)	January 8, 2022			V98 - F7~10	Season 27
News about a shogi player named Kimiharu Nishikido and suspected of match fixing, who was beaten to death with an upside-down shogi board missing a leg near his corpse, catches Conan's attention. While talking about the term "yaocho" (match fixing), Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys meet Shukichi Haneda by chance. Conan also asks him whether he had played shogi with Nishikido before, with the latter agreeing. Shukichi then waves them goodbye without noticing that Yumi has been spying on him, suspecting that he has been cheating on her. She also proceeds to take Conan with her so no one would suspect her, but she accidentally reveals herself and Shukichi explains that he has been having shogi game sessions with fellow players, thus resolving the misunderstanding. The group arrive at the players' apartment where shogi player Kosuke Hishinuma is waiting. However, another shogi player named Yasukiyo Genda, who should be inside the apartment, is not answering answer the bell, so they use the spare key brought by fellow player Mina Katsumata. Opening the door, they discover that Genda is dead with an upside-down shogi board with two legs removed, similarly to Nishikido's death. Shukichi later is seen thinking of something after he touches the furnitures nearby, having seemingly figured out the case. Mina Katsumata is introduced. Yumi tails Shukichi of suspecting having an affair. However, it is revealed that Shukichi is holding a Shogi practice session with younger Shogi players.   Shukichi was adopted by Haneda's family to fullfill Kohji Haneda's dream.
1034	1091	Taiko Meijin's Shogi Board (Brilliant Move)	January 15, 2022			V98 - F7~10	Season 27
Takagi and Sato arrive at the crime scene and start questioning the suspects. It is revealed that Nishikido was the one to begin the game sessions. Furthermore, the group also has another member, Yuhei Kishimoto, who has not been showing up at the sessions following player Kinji Uryu's mysterious suicide. Sato and Takagi are discussing whether the suicide has something to do with the two recent murders, when they notice smoke billowing from the neighborhood in Kishimoto's area. Takagi and Sato arrive at the scene of the fire and meet Inspector Yuminaga, who explains that Kishimoto was indeed killed in this fire. Conan notices in the rubble an upturned shogi board missing three legs. The next day, Conan receives a call from Yumi stating that Shukichi has been missing since last night, so he calls Akai to help him find Shukichi.   Shuichi appears.

Shuichi Akai, disguised with sunglasses and a cap, picks up Conan with in front of Ramen Ogura. However, Shukichi has probably shut his phone down knowing that he would probably be taken hostage by the culprit. Luckily, the two brothers have ways to stay in contact so the culprit does not notice Akai is coming to save his brother. Time is ticking, and the culprit's patience is running out. Will Conan and Akai make it in time? Shukichi is unable to contact his mother Mary. Shukichi wants to introduce Yumi to his mother. Shuichi appears without his disguise to save Shukichi.

Directed by Susumu Mitsunaka and written by Takahiro Okura, the movie revolves around the incidents in Shibuya that gets Rei Furuya in danger, along with the reappearance of a disguised bomber named "Pramya", who he encountered with his now deceased classmates from the police academy three years ago. The music is composed by Yugo Kanno instead of Katsuo Ohno. The movie grossed 9.78 billion yen, becoming the highest grossing film in the franchise, surpassing The Fist of Blue Sapphire. The last case prior to the movie was The Flying Jack-o'-lantern. Love story between Wataru Takagi and Miwako Sato. Bourbon appears in this movie. There's a link to Wild Police Story in the past.
