Heiji still seems to suspect Koya, but suddenly he grabs '''Natsuki Koshimizu''' by the arm and declares her the murderer. Koshimizu confesses that she's not a student. She killed Tokitsu in revenge because he had mistakenly believed a suicide in a locked room to be murder some time ago. Tokitsu pressured the victim's housekeeper, a friend of Koshimizu's, until she could no longer bear it and took her own life. Since she didn't know the name of the student detective involved at the time, she researched which detectives might be responsible and then invited Heiji and the others to the island. Because no one except those present knew about the meeting on the island, Koshimizu assumed they'd all die there together. But then they discovered a ship with Kogoro, Ran, and Kazuha on board.</spoiler> | |||

Detective Koshien Case
File 565 - The Detectives' Famous Reasoning
Heiji discovers Junya Tokitsu's corpse and opens the door for the others. He explains that the victim was bludgeoned to death with a hard object. He suspects that a hammer on the floor is the murder weapon, apparently from the toolbox in the room. Since both the door and window were locked, it's a case of a locked-room murder.
Conan names Natsuki Koshimizu, Renzo Koya, and Hiro Tsuchio as suspects. Koshimizu initially denies this, as they were all in the dining room while Tokitsu was in his room. However, she remembers leaving the room for ten minutes to use the bathroom. Tsuchio also briefly left to get cigarettes, and Koya checked on Tokitsu after he had been in his room for an extended period.
Conan questions Tsuchio about his alibi. He claims he wanted to call 911 because he had a bad feeling. However, the radio that Tsuchio found outside the house three days earlier is destroyed. Besides Tsuchio, Koya had also arrived on the island a few days earlier to search for the young detectives. Saguru Hakuba led the suspects into the dining room and then returned alone to Conan and Heiji at the scene of the crime.
The three detectives reconstructed the suspects' disappearance. They also examined the floor plan of the house, and Heiji wondered where the electricity was coming from. Hakuba then led them to a generator in a shed, where they also found the remains of the destroyed emergency call device. When Hakuba noticed that the shed's lock had been broken, he went back to Tokitsu's room and examined the toolbox again. Meanwhile, Conan and Heiji had returned to the dining room.
A comment from Tsuchio had given Conan an idea. He ran back to Tokitsu's room and examined the window frame more closely. While Hakuba mentally identified Tsuchio as the perpetrator and accused Heiji of Koya in the dining hall, Conan believed he had found the murderer.

Secret Eri Kisaki
File 574 - Secret Eri Kisaki
When the doorbell rings at Kisaki's law office in the morning, Eri is surprised by her daughter Ran and Conan with a bouquet of flowers. Ran congratulates her on the anniversary of her first date with Kogoro. Eri, however, isn't pleased and asks Ran not to buy any more flowers, as she's worried her cat Goro might nibble on them. Ran agrees and goes to put the flowers in a vase. Just as she's about to pick up a flower from the floor, Eri stops her and points to the vase on the shelf.
While Ran confronts her mother about her tense behavior, the phone suddenly rings, and Eri frantically answers it. She says goodbye to the two of them and explains that she has another appointment and has to leave the office. Shortly after Eri leaves, Goro climbs into the unused vase on the floor and knocks it over. In doing so, Conan and Ran discover a photo of Eri and Goro with a strange man. Conan realizes that the call must have come from the man, as the phone number in the photo matches. When Ran finds Eri's wedding ring in the vase, she suspects her mother is having an affair and sets out with Conan to find her.
The two find Eri in a café, where she is already talking to the stranger. Suddenly, a girl appears with her dog, which he greets with baby talk. While he greets another woman, they notice scars on his arms. Just as Ran is about to speak to her mother, she notices that she begins to tremble and cry. Ran fears the worst, but Conan is able to identify the man and assess the situation correctly.
File 575 - Secret Eri Kisaki 2
With the misunderstanding cleared up, Ran still asks her mother about the wedding ring she found in the vase. Eri explains that Goro probably hid it there, since it's his toy box. Now she understands why Ran had been thinking about having an affair. Ran and Conan return to the Mori Detective Agency because Ran is going to a club in the afternoon.
She's still wondering why her mother wore such revealing clothes when they first met. Conan reminds her of the anniversary of Eri and Kogoro's first date, when Eri wore very similar clothes. She also mentions this to Dr. Tobe. She had planned to leave work early today and take Kogoro to dinner, but she's sure he's already forgotten and will abandon her plan. That evening, however, it turns out that Kogoro also remembered the anniversary, dressed as he did on their first date, and is waiting for Eri at the karaoke bar. When she doesn't come, he gets drunk and falls asleep on the sofa. Meanwhile, Eri is in bed with Kogoro, and Ran, who is away on a karate trip, is annoyed by the inconvenient timing.
