Kogoro receives a letter with a large sum of money from Keiji Asoh requesting that he investigate Moonlight Island. On the island, they discover that Keiji was a famous pianist and has been dead for twelve years. They believe the client wanted them to investigate Keiji and so they decide to question the Mayor. They learn that Keiji's piano is in the community hall and that the previous mayor was discovered dead with the song Moonlight Sonata playing in the background and that Moonlight Sonata was the same song Keiji played on his piano during the fire that killed him. During the funeral for the previous mayor, Moonlight Sonata is heard from the piano room and they find another man murdered there. Conan interprets the letter as indicating that the murders are just starting. Conan and the others spend the night near the piano along with Dr. Narumi Asai. The police interrogate everyone the next day who were at the funeral but another man is murdered. Music notes left by the killer reveal that whoever the murderer is is avenging Keiji Asoh.

Kaitou Kid stands on top of a building with his butler. He discusses the time he was almost caught by a famous Detective in the East, Shinichi Kudo. Afterwards Mouri has been invited to a detective meeting by an unknown assailant who sends him money. There are Six detectives there excluding Conan. They are in a house where a massacre happened years ago. One of the detectives are killed and they are stranded in the mansion as the bridge has been cut and the cars have been burned. It also appears that the unknown assailant is using the name Phantom Thief Kid. After solving the case, Mouri was revealed to be Kid in disguise and escapes before Conan could capture him. First appearance of Saguru Hakuba, Konosuke Jii, Keiko Momoi, and Toichi Kuroba. We see the infamous black star heist where Kudo and Kaito face off. A flashback is shown where Shinichi teams up with Megure to try and outsmart the Kid, which they almost do.

But during dinner, when they hear Kogoro is a detective, the Master gets angry and wants him out of the Temple by tomorrow. Sadly the next day, the headmaster is murdered and they are four suspects: Kannen, Mokunen, Tonnen and Shunen. The same thing happened 2 years ago; a student was murdered. Agasa invents the Button Speaker.

A serial killer who strangles his victims first then stabs them though their wallet to their chest appears in Osaka. Heiji Hattori invites Conan, Ran, and Mouri for a tour in Osaka. While on the tour they meet Kazuha Toyama who has followed them since the beginning to "Keep an eye on Heiji from Ran". Later, their a body is dropped onto the car, the third victim of the same serial killer. After failing to prevent the fourth victim from being killed, they found out the victims are indeed connected, they took the driving test at the same time at the same place. Heiji then travels to meet up with the councilman named Gouji, who is a suspect of causing the murders. Conan is forced by Ran to travel with another officer to go to their hotel but due to an emergency, they are driven to the site where Numabuchi, a mass murder and also a suspect, is thought to be hiding. After Conan finds him, he realizes Numabuchi and Gouji are not the murderer. Heiji also realizes this and both figure out Sakada, the tour guide police, is the murderer. After stopping his suicide, Heiji is shot but survives. First appearance of Goro Otaki, Kazuha Toyama, Ginshiro Toyama, and Ki'ichiro Numabuchi.

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are invited by the hostess of a car accident charity named Shou Beniko. While driving, they find a message from the Phantom of the Cursed Masks who tells them they should not go. Once there, they find other famous celebrities; a baseball player, a prophet, a rockstar, and a man who lost his wife in a Hit and Run incident. The mansion they will be staying at is a huge mansion divided by the east and west side; and the only room connecting the two sides is the mask room, which is locked at midnight due to Shobel's mask. They were created by a famous man who lost everything and became engrossed in his masks; once he created 200 of them, he was found dead in his room surrounded with bloody masks. People who have owned his mask have suffered tragic fates. Shou who now owns all 200 masks has a priest place a seal on the curse, but the room will locked at midnight to prevent them from wandering. During their stay, Shou was murdered in a locked room with masks surrounding her and a dagger in her throat. Conan later figures out the trick and reveals the culprit. The culprit reveals that his mother was blamed for a hit and run incident and murdered by Shou, who then took fame and profit from her charity.

The death of Satou's last partner haunts her when she is put up against the same bomber. The bomber likes to place bombs around the city. Some bombs will display the location of an even bigger bomb if left for the last three seconds, this resulted in the death of Satou's partner in the past. After following clues placed by the bomber, Takagi and Conan are trapped in an elevator, where they await the bomb's clue to the location of an even bigger bomb. Conan disarms the bomb before the last second as he has already figured out the last part of the code. He stops the bomber and he is captured. Takagi finally asked Conan who he really is, suggesting his full suspicion on Conan's real identity. Conan said he'll tell him in another world. However, in the end, he wasn't able to do so. But this will be a new clue that Takagi closeness to Conan's identity is to be on it's way to it. Takagi and Satou almost kissed each other but is interrupted by Megure. The case of 3 and 7 years ago is explored... The death of the two dismantlers who died on duty Hagiwara and Matsuda and some other officials. The terrorist appears again and Sato will try to get revenge for Matusda.

While on a plane trip, Conan thinks back to a time when he was Shinichi, going on a plane trip with Ran to New York. While there, Kudo finds a dead corpse in a locked bathroom. Incidentally, Inspector Megure and Wataru Takagi are on the same plane. Can Shinichi solve the case, or will the Inspector not take him seriously? This is Shinichi's first ever murder case. His incredible deduction skills completely overwhelm and impress Inspector Megure. This is also very early in Takagi's career as a member of Megure's police force. Ran and Shinichi's budding feelings for each other are briefly explored. The whole episode takes place before the actual show. This airplane trip is what leads into Shinichi Kudo's New York Case.

They learn that the there is a rumour about a curse by the goddess' anger and Kogoro was invited to disprove it. After riding through the ropeway on the opening day, Doumouto, who has disappeared from the ropeway cart, is later found dead on the goddess' hand. Inspector Sango Yokomizo enters the scene, and begins an investigation, believing that this may be an impossible crime.

Sonoko, Ran and Conan are guests at a wedding to be conducted at the Dutch theme park Huis Ten Bosch in Nagasaki. Upon arrival, there was unmistakable tension from the groom's household members (a banking family) towards the bride-to-be, who was not from an elite background. Subsequently, loss of a valuable heirloom ring given to the bride by the groom threatens to end the marriage before it begun. As Ran, Sonoko and Conan worked hard to locate the missing ring, the bride-to-be herself went missing. More complication arose it was revealed that a decade before, the bride-to-be's father, a glass artisan, committed suicide after being unable to repay a loan to the bank owned by the groom's family. Ran catches the bride's bouquet! And Conan runs away saying "fate isn't on my side!"

Mouri and Heiji are hired to solve the case of murders in a mansion deemed the spider god. Apparantly, his victims are always found hanged. Afterwards, they find a man dead. The case continues. Conan and Heiji investigate further in the case. But it seems like he left a warning message for the duo: Kazuha was found hanged! Conan and Heiji work together for the big reveal of the murderer's ingenuous method. Robert is the murderer, driven by rage and hatred towards those who didn't stop the girl he loved from committing suicide. However, he eventually realised that his leaving message was what triggered his beloved's death. Ran and Kazuha become close friends, both even poking fun at each other for having crime loving boyfriends. Heiji jokingly says that Kazuha and him can sleep close to each other at night if they get lost. Kazuha thinks about this, and gets very embarrassed. When Kazuha is attacked by the killer, Heiji is the first person to run up to her before anyone else, trying his best to save her.

Conan along with Heiji, Ran, and Mouri visit the Isle of Mermaids looking for Saori, who had sent a letter to Heiji and Mouri asking them to save her from being killed by a mermaid, but when they try to look for her she has been reported missing. Every year on this island a festival is held were 3 locals win the Dungong Arrow that is said to wield immortality to its carrier. The festival is brought to a disastrous end when one of the winners is found dead hanging down the waterfall. Conan and Heiji investigate the area and history of Mermaids Grave, a forest on mermaid island. They learn that an elder who is over 130 years old is a holder of the arrow and the head of the festival. While investigating two more murders occur. Conan reveals to Heiji he knows who the murderer is and to meet him later, but later he and Kazuha fall off a cliff. Conan reveals that the murderer is the elder. He reveals that the elder were people who dressed up as her to continue the story of the arrow. Heiji and Kazuha arrive at the house in time to confirm the story. The culprit reveals that her mother was the previous elder who were killed by the three victims. She continued the elder story for her mother, but finds out the whole town knew she was the elder and that her mother was the mermaid's corpse. All the town people bow their heads and apologize for not telling her sooner as she cries due to her guilt. While looking in the past visitor registry, Conan finds the name "Shiho Miyano" but he doubts that this was Haibara. Kazuha gets embarrassed when the subject of her feelings for Heiji comes up during her conversation with Ran. Heiji and Kazuha are found stuck on a cliff, and Kazuha is barely hanging on to Heiji to survive! Kazuha takes the arrow that she won in the contest, and stabs Heiji with it, hoping that he'll let go of her so that she can fall off, saying "I pass my long life onto you." However, Heiji refuses to let go, even when the gash gets incredibly bloody. He helps her back up, and helps her to the elder's hut, promising that he will never let anyone hurt her while he is with her.

Akai immediately recognizes Ran from the New York case, wondering why whenever he sees her, she is crying. Later, Conan heads to Agasa's home to see the floppy, which seems like a normal diary at first. However, after highlighting suspiciously blank portions of the floppy, Conan and Agasa discover that the man indeed has ties to the Black Organizatiopn. Agasa and Conan both head to the man's house in Gunma to investigate, and discover that it is bugged in numerous places. Vodka calls the house, leaving a message asking for the program that the man was making, and decides to come out prompty. Conan is able to convince him to meet him at a certain place in a few hours, to deliver the program. Agasa and Conan escape, but their tire is flat, and they are picked up by two people in a fancy car. Conan suspiciously notices that the driver has no idea how to operate the car. The car is stopped by a road block set up by Detective Yamamura who says that he is looking for two bank robbers and kidnappers, whom he shot in a case a few hours before. Conan finally realizes who the people are. After more driving, Conan confronts the two criminals. The criminals try to escape, but Conan is able to capture them in time. He then boldly tries to meet with Gin and Vodka at the place, and hides in a locker, placing a tracker on Vodka's shoe. Gin discovers this, and prompty destroys it. Conan passes out in the locker, only to be woken up by Haibara later that morning. Conan obtains Agasa's newest invention: the Anywhere Ball Dispensing Belt. Conan discovers a link between Suguru Itakura and the Black Organization. While investigating Itakura's house in Gunma, Conan and Agasa are surprised by a phone call from Vodka, asking for Itakura's program. Conan uses Itakura's voice to arrange a meeting with him. He then tries to trick Vodka into leaving his fingerprints, but the trap is discovered by Gin, who tells Vodka that the cunning fox who set this up must be nearby. Both of them search for him without success, and Gin begins to open lockers, stopping at the one Conan was hiding in, because "there's no way an adult could fit inside".

Ran collapses at the restaurant! Inspector Jugo Yokomizo takes her into his police car to escort her to the local hospital, as it will be faster than calling an ambulance. While in the car, Ran dreams about the time she spent with Shinichi in New York, after their plane trip. While there, they meet with Yukiko, and as well as Sharon Vineyard. While attending a play, a murder occurs right on stage, and a gun is found in an empty private booth. Shinichi begins the investigation! He realizes that the private booth with a gun was merely a decoy for everyone to believe the murder occured there. Shinichi may have solved the case! But how can he get everyone to take his deductions seriously? Meanwhile, in New York City, there is a serial killer on the loose. Shinichi, with the help of Yukiko Kudo, is able to present his deductions, and solve the case. When leaving, it is raining, and Shinichi and Ran walk together, when Shinichi checks an abandoned warehouse when he hears a suspicious man is in there. While Ran waits outside, she meets up with Shuichi Akai, who at that point had long hair, and was wearing an FBI jacket. He warns her to leave, but she stays, waiting for Shinichi. After Akai leaves, Ran confronts the serial killer! He decides to kill her. After the killer accidentally falls off of a stairwell, Ran grabs his hand, which astonishes the killer. Shinichi then comes to the rescue! After Shinichi explains his and Ran's noble reasons for ever saying someone, the killer silently vows to leave them alone, while Shinichi carries an exhausted Ran off. Akai and the FBI kill the serial killer just a short while later. Ran wakes up, recounting that this was when she finally fully fell in love with Shinichi. Ran accidentally saves Vermouth and the viewers come to realize that Akai is a FBI agent. Shinichi is very worried about Ran when she gets caught in an accident. Ran mentions this case was when she finally fell in love with Shinichi. Ran encounters Shuichi Akai, who is trying to locate the serial killer. Ran dreams about her times in New York.

Sonoko's uncle wants to capture Kaitou Kid to improve his fame. Kaitou Kid arrives on the scene and seemingly walks on air to investigate the treasure he will steal. Conan investigates and finds out the trick Kaitou Kid used. The second time Kaitou Kid tries to steal the jewel but it was revealed to be a distraction. Kaitou Kid steals the jewel from indoors and is making his escape on a motorcycle when Conan is found to be on the passenger seat. Kaitou Kid manages to lose Conan and escape once again. Jirokichi Suzuki is introduced. Kid tells Conan that his main goal is not the Blue Wonder but just to duel with him. Kaitou Kid squares off against Suzuki for the first time. Heist: Blue Wonder

On the way from school, Conan and Ai Haibara by chance find Gin's car on the street and decide to investigate. Conan places a tracker in their car. Haibara spots Gin and Vodka across the street on their way back to their car. Conan and Haibara quickly get out the car and hide outside while they leave. Conan keeps track of what their doing through his special glasses, however, Gin eventually catches on to the tracker and destroys it as well as learns that Sherry is still alive. They are eventually led to a movie director's party at the Haido City Hotel where a chandelier falls on someone (Mr. Nomiguchi) while in the dark, thus, ending the episode with who's responsible for the murder. In continuance from the last episode, everyone is wondering how the chandelier fell in the first place. Conan knows it's Pisco of the Black Organization, but the police are stumped. When Inspector Megure can't hold anyone anymore, everyone at the party flees toward the doorway. In the mix of all the commotion, Haibara is kidnapped by someone and confined to a wine cellar somewhere in the Haido Hotel. Conan tells her to drink some sake that will temporary turn her back to an adult to help her escape. Will Haibara be able to escape the clutches of Gin and Vodka? In the conclusion of Conan and Ai's encounter with the Black Organization, Ai is trapped in a building with Gin and Vodka after she is kidnapped by them (previous episode). Now she must try to escape (Ai is in her adult form temporarily), but it won't be easy. She makes her way to the roof only to encounter Gin and Vodka who both shoot her down and almost kill her until Conan arrives on the scene. He uses his special bow tie to sound like an older person who distracts them, as well as shoots Gin with a needle, while she jumps down the chimney and barely escapes death. Gin shoots himself in the arm to keep himself awake while Vodka attempts to shoot Conan, but he escapes. Conan and Ai eventually encounter Pisco back inside, but due to an accidental fire, the two get away before Pisco kills them. Gin and Vodka arrive and Gin kills Pisco without hesitation for failing to finish the job. Near the end of the episode, a new female member named Vermouth discusses the dilemma with Gin and Vodka. Introduction of Pisco, Naomichi Mugikura, and Vermouth, the latter becoming a VERY important character a few years later in the series. Conan and Ai suspect that a Black Organization member, Pisco, is going to be at a hotel to plan a murder. Haibara takes the alcohol to turn her back into her adult form, Shiho Miyano. Gin shoots Shiho, who is saved at the last moment by Conan. Gin kills Pisco, and Vermouth is shown at the end, discussing the situation with both Gin and Vodka. Haibara's past is once again explored, and it is hinted that she has some sort of history with Gin, who takes very special interest in finding her. Gin once again takes very special interest in Shiho.

Shinichi Kudo uncovers a murderer along with the police at a party. Later, Shinichi and Ran Mouri take a trip together to an amusement park, where a man is murdered during a roller coaster ride. Shinichi deduces that the people in front and behind the victim are the suspects. Shortly investigating the scene, he reveals the murderer to be the man's ex-girlfriend. After the case Shinichi spots two suspicious black-clothed men. He decides to follow them and witnesses a deal taking place but is attacked from behind. The two men, intending to kill him, force him to swallow newly developed poison. Most of the main characters are introduced. First appearance of Shinichi Kudo, Ran Mouri, Kogoro Mouri, Juzo Megure, Gin, Vodka, Ayumi Yoshida, Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya, Genta Kojima, and Hiroshi Agasa. Shinichi turns back into a 7 year old boy after being poisoned. As Shinichi parts from Ran at an amusement park to check on some suspicious activities, Ran feels like she's seeing Shinichi for the last time (which will happen to have been somewhat of a premonition). The men in black poison Shinichi after he is discovered spying on them. Shinichi and Ran are presented as childhood friends and are shown to share a strong bond. Many other important facts about the characters are revealed (such as Shinichi's usual involvement in the police affairs).
2	-	Company President's Daughter Kidnapping Case (Remastered)	April 11, 2009			V1 - F2~5	Skyscraper
Shinichi wakes up as a young child due to the effect of the poison. After running into Professor Agasa he decides he must hide his identity or those men in black will come back to finish off those connected to him. Shinichi renamed "Conan Edogawa" is placed in the care of Ran and her father, Kogoro Mouri who owns a detective agency which may allow him to gather information on the men in black. Kogoro receives a case to find a man's kidnapped daughter, Akiko. Conan drops subtle hints for Kogoro to solve the case revealing Asao, the butler, to have kidnapped Akiko. A phone call reveals Akiko has been kidnapped again. Conan follows the clues from the phone call and is able to locate her. After arresting the kidnapper, Akiko reveals she asked Asao to fake a kidnapping in an attempt to get her father away from work to spend time with her. The father asks Asao to arrange a vacation for him and Akiko. Kogoro, happy to have solved a difficult case, allows Conan to stay. First appearance of Conan Edogawa. Shinichi moves to Ran's place and calls himself Conan Edogawa.

After a day at the museum, the Conan and his friends find a piece of paper with symbols and the word "Oro" written on it. Conan believes that it is a treasure map after he discovers "Oro" means gold in Italian. Following clues, they find gold coins hanging from the ceiling of an abandoned building, but they interrupted by a gang from the Italian mafia. With Conan's quick thinking, they are able to capture the men. Later, Ayumi gives Conan a kiss, thanking him for saving them as Mitsuhiko and Genta stare jealously. Creation of the Detective Boys.

While playing hide-and-seek in the park, Ayumi Yoshida hides herself in the trunk of a car and falls asleep. When she wakes, the car has already left the park, and Ayumi finds herself with a head of a girl wrapped in newspapers. Conan uses the new radio transmitters the Detective Boys received from Professor Agasa to get clues and find where the car is heading. They boys finally catch up to rescue Ayumi, but not before they find out the girl's head was prop for a play. Having knocked out one of the actors, Conan and his friends must take over his part. Agasa invents the Detective Boys Badges and Turbo Engine Skateboard.

Ran fights him off but doesn't land a hit, which makes her believe she knows who is in the Night Baron costume. Can Conan solve this case even if the wind is a factor?

Agasa is about to phone the police to investigate but upon seeing a secret agent, is knocked out by the same culprit. Agasa invents the Wristwatch Flashlight. Ayumi admits to Ai that she feels very affectionate to Conan, saving some bread for him because she thinks that if he is lost, he is also very hungry.

When nighttime comes, Ai investigates freely and is accompanied by the Detective Boys. They enter the same secret passage as Conan did and wander out of another secret entrance. Genta remains trapped and captured by the culprit. Mitsuhiko ends up missing too. Ai and Ayumi investigate the abandoned tower of the castle and find the culprit using a secret entrance connected to the castle. They find a corpse and release who the culprit is pretending to be the mistress. After re-uniting with the everyone, Conan reveals the location of the treasure. The treasure was the castle, and a beautiful scene. The culprit breaks down realizing that they wasted 10 years and killed a huge number of people just for this. The culprit is captured.

Agasa, Haibara, Conan, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta go camping. While they're camping they find a lantern in a pond with some writing inside. They show the stone lantern to Conan who determines that it is a code to finding a large diamond. The lantern is also hiding another secret...a dead body at the bottom of the pond. After searching the body they find out that he was a treasure hunter who was straggled to death by another person looking for the treasure. They also find a tear-shaped stone with the kanji "inflammation" written on it and a notebook. The notebook suggests that he was murdered by his partner and that Kaitou Kid is also seeking the treasure. Professor Agasa goes back to camp to call the police. Conan, Haibara, and Agasa deduce the Black Organization's boss' phone number and discuss whether to call it or involve the police. They decide to do neither. Kaitou Kid is suspected to be there.

As they continue to search the house they meet another treasure hunter, and end up falling down a trap door into the basement. Luckily they are saved by Conan's supersized soccerball. In the basement they find Kichiemon's grave, a bunch of human remains, and an old lady. The first treasure hunter reveals grudgingly that he found the mirror artifact and Conan reveals the tear-shaped stone. They continue looking for the sword, which is the last piece of the puzzle. Kid is mentioned again.

The old lady nearly gets chopped up by four swinging blades when she steps on a trap. Conan realizes that if one stands in the right spot the blades will not harm you and that one of the blades actually has a handle allowing him to swing over towards the sword. The sword contains the last clue, which leads everyone back to the pond. Mitsuhiko accidentally discovers that the diamond is at the bottom of the pond. The first treasure hunter dives in after it while the second pulls a gun planning to kill everyone and take the diamond for herself. Conan is able to tranquilizer her, but when the treasure hunter comes back up with the diamond the spring starts to pour into the pond causing a massive flood. The only way to stop the flood is to put the diamond back. The old lady turns out to be Kaitou Kid who knew all along that the diamond was unable to be stolen, and Conan allows him to escape on his hang-glider. Kaitou Kid appears and the Detective Boys see him.

Ran and Shinichi's old homeroom teacher, Sayuri Matsumoto, is getting married, but before the wedding even starts, the bride is poisoned when she drinks her canned juice. Several suspects are caught on video including Sayuri's father, Kiyonaga Matsumoto and Toshihiko Takasugi, the groom. The fingerprint analysis show that some prints are missing from the can. Conan, using Sonoko Suzuki, reveals the culprit to be Toshihiko. Toshihiko reveals that Kiyonaga was the indirect cause of his mother's death. Sayuri's friend proclaims to Toshihiko, Sayuri knew about his past with her father but she married him anyways because he was her childhood love. Toshihiko becomes enveloped in guilt but a message from the hospital reveals Sayuri's surgery to be a success, leaving Toshihiko to cry with happiness. Toshihiko is sent to prison for three years after which he marries Sayuri. First appearance of Kiyonaga Matsumoto.

Afterwards, Conan returns to the Mouri Detective agency to find a girl named Akagi Ryoko waiting in front. She asks Mouri to find Kudo Shinichi, saying that she was his girlfriend. Ran gets jealous and angry and decided to go to her house, but Conan notices some strange things and realizes that there was a kidnapping of Mamoru Akagi, Hideo Akagi's little brother. The kidnapper is later revealed to be Uemura Naoki, a fellow soccer player of Hide's. He kidnapped Mamoru because he believed that Hide injured his leg on purpose to stop him from surpassing him. After the solution, Ran calls Shinichi's cell phone, which he gave to Ryoko before, and chases Conan to an alley where she confronts him about Ryoko. At that moment Agasa drives up in his yellow beetle. Conan replies with word that somewhat suggest feelings for her and he hides in Agasa's car, escaping Ran sucessfully. First appearance of Hideo Akagi and Naoki Uemura. Agasa invents the Portable Bento Box Fax.

Matsumoto reveals the truth about Megure's past. In the past a man was attacking girls with long skirts and a girl proposed to be bait but was badly injured along with Megure, leaving scars on both of them. The girl is revealed to be Megure's wife. Ran, Kogoro, and Conan all finally meet her when they visit Megure in the hospital. Midori Megure's first appearance. Megure saves Sonoko from the strange attacker, taking a baseball bat to the face, re-opening his scar. Megure explodes at the attacker. We learn that Midori and Juzo met each other when Midori played the role of someone who would look like someone the past serial killer would attack. After she gets attacked for real, Megure tries to save her, both of them being injured. They both fall in love with each other afterwards. The full story of Megure's past is finally revealed, as well as the reason why he always wears a hat, never wanting to take it off.

He is considered a "traitor" by fans, for going from one team to another, and even fans of his own team boo him when he makes errors. While Haibara and the Detective Boys are focused on the game, Conan asks Agasa about if he has new information on Sharon Vineyard, and learns that a famous japanese actress attended the funeral, but no one remembers who it was. While they watch the game on the TV, they spot a man known as a "Hooligan," a man who takes pride on starting trouble and riots in soccer matches. While everyone (Including is on a train packed with Noir and Tokyo supporters, the hooligan is found murdered, stabbed inside of the train. Inspector Megure and Detective Takagi arrive on the scene. Conan is able to narrow the suspects down to three people, but can he solve the case? And where did Haibara go? The last scene of the episode shows her walking away from everyone... First appearances of Ryusuke Higo. Takagi starts to question Conan's intelligence by asking him directly "How are you deducing like that?".

While the man is being taken away, the Detective Boys notice that Haibara is on the other side of the train station, near a different train. Conan believes that she may be running away, due to the many odd comments she has made throughout the day, about being a traitor! Conan races to find Haibara, only to believe that it is too late... until Haibara walks up to him and explains that she was trying to find Mitsuhiko's radio, that he had accidentally dropped during the hysteria that occured when the man was murdered. Haibara feels an emotional connection with the soccer player Higo. Haibara ask conan "You'll protect me, right?". Conan answered "Yeah..." This might state something about Haibara's feelings for Conan.

Ichiro revealed Gozo rejected his proposal for marriage with Natsue and humiliated him. After learning of Takeshi's past, Ichiro murdered Joseph and framed Takeshi In the end, Takeshi talks to Natsue and tells her he planned to avenge his father but fell in love with her and gave up on revenge.

While Conan tries to help make her feel better, a man comes out of a phone booth... Shuichi Akai! Conan gets a diary of a Black Organization contact. Ran and Conan encounter Akai once again as he walks out from a phone booth. He makes a comment on how Ran reminds him of a woman he knows.

However, upon finally realizing that Black is not the man they were after, they decide to kidnap him, anyway. The only clue left behind by Black was that he wrote "P&A" on the ground by where he was kidnapped. Can Conan solve the case? James Black's first appearance. Haibara says that James is giving her a weird feeling and James seems to be acting too calmly being kidnaped plus some other obvious hints

Conan figures out, with the help of Sato, Takagi, and Yumi, what "P&A" means. They realize that the kidnappers are in a police car, and are masquerading as police officers. Conan, Sato, Takagi, Yumi, and other members of the police force use this to their advantage, and completely corner the kidnappers, saving Black. The mysterious man named Shuichi Akai is shown driving James Black away from the scene later, as Black remarks on how Conan is no ordinary boy. James and Shuichi seem to be working together and James refers to Conan by the name "Cool Guy" Because the photo of Conan in the Vermouth room's says this name.

He escapes to find out Kotaro died after drinking wine and Kazue is taken away by the police. Conan discovers Kotaro never drank the wine and the doctor was the true killer after viewing a recording of the murder caught on camera.

Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are out walking when a robbery occurs. Conan and Kogoro are able to take down the robber and hand him to the police. A crowd gathered to watch the scene and Kogoro's friend, Yumi recognizes him. After talking about the judo class reunion that is to take place that day, she leaves. While turning back, Conan and Kogoro realize the gun the robber had is missing. That night at the reunion, they plan to go out and watch fireworks. Kogoro's friends did not go leaving only Conan, Kogoro, and Ran. Yumi is missing from dinner so the judo members go to her room to wake her up from her sleep. There, they find her dead from a gunshot wound to the head and in her hand was the missing gun from before. Kogoro realizes that burn marks are missing from Yumi's temple meaning that it was a murder and one of the judo members is the suspect. First appearance of Jun Omura. Kogoro meets with his old friends.

Conan recognizes two things strange about Yumi's body; the finger was not on the trigger and she was naked under her robe. Conan then realizes who the murderer is and plans to tranquilize Kogoro to solve the case. Kogoro solves the case, revealing that Yumi died much earlier and that exercise from table tennis caused her body to undergo rigor mortis much earlier. He reveals that the judo member who murdered Yumi was Kazushi Nakamichi. Nakamichi revealed that he was dating Yumi for eighteen years and he proposed to her multiple time but she always turned him down. When he became engaged to another woman, Yumi terrorized them both with threats. He revealed that he picked up the gun from the robbery earlier, seeing it as a sign to murder Yumi. Kogoro meets with his old friends.

However, she claims to not have tried to scare them off and they realize that someone else is indeed in the school. However, it is actually the vice-principal who lost his toupee and had been searching for it for the last two nights. First appearance of Sumiko Kobayashi and Ryujiro Uematsu.

Kimura is said to be at a lake and Mouri goes to investigate. There he is seemingly shot by the culprit but, in fact, Conan has set a dummy in Mouri's place. The culprit reveals his motive was revenge.

Jirokichi Suzuki receives a letter from Kaitou Kid which reveals that Kid plans on opening Jirokichi's impenetrable safe, the Iron Tanuki. The letter however is not written in Kid's usual style raising the ideal that an imposter is after Jirokichi's safe. Sonoko invites Ran, Kogoro, and Conan to Jirokichi's house. After examining the security of the safe, Kaitou Kid's card, in its usual style, is found confirming Kaitou Kid's plan to open the safe. Conan suspects that Kaitou Kid is one of the three newly hired workers of Jirokichi. The nearly hired maid and adviser inform Conan of Jirokichi's strange behavior. They reveal that after dinner, two places are always missing and Jirokichi always brings his cane with him to the safe. Jirokichi asks the maid for a hand and they head to his room. Jirokichi leaves with his bodyguard for a drive. Shortly after, an unconscious Jirokichi is found tied up and his room and a note of Kaitou Kid is found on the safe. This causes the whole police force that are guarding the safe to abandon their position and chase after "Jirokichi". Conan meanwhile enters the room with the safe revealing the maid was Kaitou Kid in disguise. Conan reveals the first message by "Kaitou Kid" was actually done by Jirokichi asking for Kaitou's kid assistance. Conan also reveals Jirokichi purposely placed suspicion on himself in order to clear the area of cops so Kaitou Kid can open the safe. Inside the safe is revealed to be Jirokichi's dog, Lupin. Kid does a favor for Suzuki.

Conan meets up with the kidnappers and just when he was about to defeat them, the Detective Boys arrive and are captured. The kidnappers leave and then set the room on fire. While at the concert, the Detective Boys accidentally start the music too early, and if stopped it will anger the crowd even more. Conan tries to sing but that angers the crowd. The singer then takes the Detective Boys out with her to sing.

Conan trails her to discover her old boyfriend died in a car accident caused by the man and she has been plotting to murder him. Kogoro Mouri and Conan reach the woman on time to prevent the murder.
