Inspector Megure examines the crime scene and notices the cut on the victim's foot and the numerous shards of glass on the floor. Kikuemon believes his daughter-in-law committed suicide because her artwork was broken. Conan remarks to Kogoro and Megure that Masuko's feet are clean, even though she was barefoot, suggesting she was carried there. However, the potter and his students were in the living room at the time of the incident. The police find Masuko's cell phone, which she always used as an alarm clock, under her pillow in her room.

Inspector Megure examines the crime scene and notices the cut on the victim's foot and the numerous shards of glass on the floor. Kikuemon believes his daughter-in-law committed suicide because her artwork was broken. Conan remarks to Kogoro and Megure that Masuko's feet are clean, even though she was barefoot, suggesting she was carried there. However, the potter and his students were in the living room at the time of the incident. The police find Masuko's cell phone, which she always used as an alarm clock, under her pillow in her room.
