Detective Conan plot overview

The Great Detective Turned Small (Manga: 2, Anime: 2)

Ran Mouri visits the Kudo residence during her search for the vanished Shinichi Kudo, but only finds Professor Hiroshi Agasa there, together with a seemingly strange young boy, who, unbeknownst to her, is actually the shrunken Shinichi. He quickly cobbles together the new identity of "Conan Edogawa" with the help of some books from his father's study before leaving the mansion with her to move into the Mouri Detective Agency in a nearby block.

The Nightmare in the Basement (Manga: 19, Anime: 20)

After their adventure in the seemingly abandoned house, the Detective Boys plan a trip to another allegedly haunted mansion: The Kudo residence, which Conan Edogawa tries to prevent them from going to.

The Girl Made of Lies (Manga: 179, Anime: 129)

Ai Haibara explains how she checked out the Kudo residence as Shiho Miyano with a couple of agents from the organization to see whether he's dead, which is visible during a flashback. The interior is dusty and it looks like nobody lived there for a while, so they closed the case, but Shiho found that his elementary school clothes were missing.

Magic Kaito plot overview

Omake Manga (MK Manga: Volume 5 Omake)

Gosho Aoyama remodeled Akako's house for use as the Kudo residence.

Gosho Aoyama as director finishes the shooting of "Sun Halo" and tells his assistants to get "the gate for the other series" for a remodeling of Akako Koizumi's residence into the Kudo residence. Kaito Kuroba is flabbergasted that Gosho's just recycling settings.

Trivia

  • The exact address of the Kudo residence in the Manga is Tokyo, Beika Ward, Beika Town, 2nd Block, House Number 21 (東京都米花区米花町2丁目21番地 Tōkyō-to Beika-ku Beika-chō 2-chōme 22-banchi?), with the "Beika Town 2-21" (2nd Block, House Number 21) being an allusion to Sherlock Holmes's address of Baker Street 221B.
  • The Kudo residence seemingly shares a model with Akako Koizumi's residence, considering their similar appearances. Gosho Aoyama also alluded to this during a meta joke in the Omake (Bonus Comic) of Magic Kaito Volume 5.
  • A mansion identical to the Kudo residence in architecture appears in the background of the mystery TV show George Kirishima (from Detective George's Mini-Mini Big Strategy) features in during file 102 of Detective Conan.
  • The two photos in Reiko Kujo's apartment are about Kudo residence, but with an inverted orientation, so she's a close acquaintance of the Kudo family since Conan knows her very well.
