Mutsuhiko Akasaka

Mutsuhiko Akasaka (赤坂 睦彦 Akasaka Mutsuhiko), age 70, is a character in the Detective Conan anime. He is a member of the Silver Detectives. He compares himself to the Detective Boys' Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya.
Background
Mutsuhiko Akasaka is a retired civil servant living in Beika City. A month prior to the timeline, he responded to an advertisement in the local newspaper by Eitaro Tokunaga seeking members to create a new detective league[1]. He thus joined along with Ginta Oshima and Yasuko Emoto.
Appearance
Akasaka is an tall old man with balding brown hair. He wears grey metallic glasses, which he touches by the bridge often by habit. He is shown wearing a long-sleeved blue jersey with a shirt underneat.
Personality
Akasaka is a serious person and describes himself as "bound by common sense and stubbornness". He has an analytical spirit, shown when picking up items at a crime scene, but tends to stick to his conclusions, even if wrong.

Plot overview
The Detective Boys VS The Silver Detectives (Anime: 777)
After helping a local woman retrieve her stolen bicycle along with the other Silver Detectives, Akasaka meets the Detective Boys and everyone later gathers at a park, where he explains who he is and checks out Mitsuhiko, who he says is similar to him. Later, they discover a body in a traditional house and he accidentally contaminates the crime scene, getting his fingerprints all over a vase among others. He is convinced by Tokunaga to testify to the police that they saw a suspicious man earlier, who he describes as "with a deep scar". They later stumble upon more evidence supporting the theory about the suspect they seemingly saw. The Detective Boys were not convinced and thus investigate and learn the truth about the case. They confront the Silver Detectives and make everyone realize they convinced themselves that they saw that suspect and that in fact there was no such person, shocking Akasaka. Later, they go to the house of the victim and realize they were played by Tokunaga to help him forge his alibi and tamper the crime scene so evidence of his presence would not be suspicious. Despite being betrayed, he does not seem to worry and offers to accompany Tokunaga to the police station so he can confess.
Later, with no leader, all three Silver Detectives decide to become the Detective Boys' apprentice.
The Detective Boys VS The Silver Detectives 2 (Anime: 1199)
The Silver Detectives are back, seemingly over the loss of their previous leader, and this time with Akasaka leading the team. However, they are involved in another impossible crime case.
Trivia
- His first name "Mutsuhiko" is ponetically similar to "Mitsuhiko" and his last name "Akasaka" contains the character "坂", meaning "slope", as opposed to the character "谷", meaning "valley" in Mitsuhiko's last name Tsuburaya.
