Jugo and Chihaya's feelings seem to have strengthened during their meeting at the masquerade party. Miwako Sato gets jealous at Takagi for being with Chihaya. Momiji falls on Heiji after tripping and tries to kiss him, but is interrupted by Conan.
Rei Furuya remembers his encounter with Miwako Sato at the Police Academy. Yamamura remembers being friends with Hiromitsu Morofushi and shows the message he left in their childhood hideout before he died to Hiromitsu's older brother. Chihaya remembers Jinpei Matsuda, her first crush, by looking at Wataru Takagi.
The mysterious man with a breather and his partner with sunglasses are spying on the Sera family and seem to be protecting them. Rumi and Akai meet and seem to know that each other are hiding their real identities. Rum grows suspicious of Rumi. The mysterious man with bird seems to have a grudge against Conan.
Kobayashi gives Shiratori a lucky charm to cheer him on in his Chess Tournament.
Rum orders his subordinates to eliminate Rumi, but Rumi uses Kobayashi as a bait and defeats Korn and Chianti. Later, while spying on Rumi at Teitan Elementary School, Rum wonders why she has not stopped working there even after her identity was found out.
A flashback reveals the truth behind the case from 17 years ago. It is revealed that Kohji Haneda was killed by Rum while trying to save Asaka. Kuroda who was off-duty in New York tried to chase an escaping Asaka but to no avail, and their meeting then seems to be what is fueling her hatred towards him.
Ran reveals to Kazuha that she is dating Shinichi. Ran is aware that Heiji loves Kazuha and she sets up this trip to Mount Washio so they can confess, but Heiji ends up completely forgetting to confess to Kazuha. Shinichi (Kid in disguise, and under Conan's assistance) confronts a sulking Ran.

Iori met Momiji three years ago on a mission and decided to become her butler then. Kazami is revealed to have attended the police academy with Iori. Kid brings up the murder in the mystery train case when Saguru asked him about his opinion on the current case.
Rei starts to investigate Conan. He plants a hidden microphone and camera in Mitsuhiko's Kamen Yaiba enamel pin only to get founded by Conan. When Conan mentions a store near Shinichi's house, Rei is surprised and comments on Conan's familiarity with the area around Shinichi's house. Conan covers up by saying that it is because Shinichi's house is next to Agasa's. Later Masumi warns Conan about Rei stalking him.
After recalling some of the moments he shared with Kazuha, Heiji finally expressed his love to her.
