Genki Ishikawa

Genki Ishikawa (石川 元気 Ishikawa Genki) is a character in the anime franchise Detective Conan.
Background
Genki Ishikawa is a young taxi driver working for TK Taxi[1]. His contract covers the metropolitan Tokyo area. Although only 25, he is shown to be a skilled taxi driver.
Personality
As his first name suggests, he is a happy-go-lucky person, always smiling and with his eyes wide open. Easily impressed, he is a big fan of Kogoro Mouri, who he follows religiously. His energetic character makes him prone to become unfocused, which can cause him to drive dangerously and take his eyes off the road. On the other hand, when high stakes are involved, he is able to stay focused on the road and his demeanor becomes more serious.
Appearance
He has wavy black hair, sharp eyes, and a prominent nose. He wears a navy-blue suit, a white dress shirt, laced with a blue tie.

Plot overview
Follow Them! Detective Taxi (Anime: 976)
After finding no luck at the Birinmon Fish Market in finding a missing pet armadillo, Kogoro and Conan board Ishikawa's taxi, and he is delighted to meet the famous detective in person. He however almost causes an accident when he turns his head back to talk to them. He is able to remember crucial details about a group of prior customers, which helps Conan solve the case.
Follow Them! Detective Taxi 2 (Anime: 1155)
While his first appearance was not as one of the main characters of the case, his second appearance has him being the center of the whole case. After driving a customer to a shrine for a jewel-washing ceremony, Ishikawa notices two suspicious men loitering in the parking lot and goes to the Mouri Detective Agency to inform Kogoro about the men. Kogoro declines to help, citing his busy schedule and Ishikawa resolves to go back to the shrine to check on the customer he previously dropped off, having become infatuated with her looks. Worried that she had been targeted by the two suspicious men, he quickly gets back and finds the woman unconscious lying on the shrine grounds. Before he can do anything, he is knocked out. Kogoro and Conan later decide to go to the shrine because of a news report about a robbery that just happened there. Not finding Ishikawa anywhere, they go back to the parking lot and notice his taxi. Opening the trunk, they find him bound and gagged and rescue him. They later figure out the woman was part of the robbery scheme and they track her down along with the two suspicious men, her accomplices and are able to arrest her.
Follow Them! Detective Taxi 3 (Anime: 1188)
In his third appearance, Ishikawa, now well-acquainted with his idol, drives him and Conan to a fried food festival in Furai City so Kogoro could meet its mayor for a new case after having been supposedly called there by inspector Megure. There, they realize there is no case and Kogoro and Conan are instead trapped into becoming part of the event mascots. Megure informs them that there has been a recent string of robberies and Conan links the two events together and realize the robbers wanted to distract Kogoro and Conan to Furai so they could be able to freely move around. Kogoro and Conan have Ishikawa drive them to corner the leader of the robbers. Seeing that he managed to make his escape by boat, Ishikawa speeds up his car to go over a bridge and land on the boat, knocking out the robbers' leader.

- His name is only formally revealed in his second appearance. In his first appearance, he is only referred to as "Taxi driver" (タクシー運転手) in the suspect box.
- His first name "Genki" is a pun for "元気" (Genki), the Japanese term for "in good spirits".
- His car is a black Toyota Crown. Its license plate is 新宿 500, こ 58・84 (Shinjuku 500, Ko 58・84).
