Background
Tamura is a police detective of Hokkaido prefecture and Nishimura's assistant. Since his superior told him that there is a rumor going on about a cursed detective who causes unfortunate incidents wherever he goes, he is skeptical of Kogoro.

He is more easygoing and less formal than his superior, which makes him a more approachable detective.
