The Million-dollar Pentagram (Movie: 27)
Nishimura is the inspector in charge following the murder of Hokkaido-native lawyer Sumito Hisagaki in Hakodate harbor. When Heiji, Conan, Kogoro, Ran and Kazuha arrive at the crime scene, he recognizes Kogoro from the North Star express case, which Kogoro quickly remembers, but does not remember Nishimura. He lets Heiji, Conan and Kogoro into the crime scene to take a look at the evidence and later brings Kogoro to the Hakodate Police headquarters for a debriefing. Heiji and Conan listen in on him through a bug they planted on Kogoro. Later, he arrests Hijiri Fukushiro, who is with Heiji and Conan, since Hisagaki's fingerprints were found on his sword. When Heiji and Conan try to investigate the hotel Hisagaki checked in, Nishimura helps them get access to Hisagaki's belongings, but this Nishimura is in fact Kaitou Kid in disguise. While he is interrogating Hijiri further, inspector Nakamori, who is tasked with the robbery case of Takuzo Onoe's swords (Hisagaki's client), is injured. He thus takes on the case from him and negotiates with Brian D. Kadokura, who is looking for Onoe's swords and is the one who injured Nakamori, to get him to release Ryoe Fukushiro, Hijiri's father, who Kadokura is holding hostage. At the end of the case, he arrests Kadokura and the real culprit of the case. When his assistant Yoshihisa Kawazoe arrives to help cordon off the crime scene but is wearing plain clothes, Nishimura finds it odd. He learns from Kawazoe that he was out for a two-day vacation and just came back to Hakodate. He realizes that the Kawazoe he was working with for the past two days was in fact not the real one, but he does not figure out that that Kawazoe was in fact Kaito Corbeau.
Name origin
His name comes from Kyotaro Nishimura, a well-known writer of travel mysteries.[1]. His first name is revealed in movie 27 and comes as well from Kyotaro Nishimura.
