The woman who had been going with inspector Sawatari was Koji Sametani's girlfriend. After the events in One-eyed Flashback, Sawatari feels indebted to Sametani, who was his senior, so he decided to retrieve Wani's items himself. While doing that, he noticed a bill payment about a women's ring, and he thought about Sametani's intention to propose his girlfriend, so he tried to retrive it for her but unsuccessful due to the shop policy that only the customer or members of his family can retrieve it. Sawatari then explained the situation to the girlfriend so the gift can be given to her. In the end, Megure decided to overlook this case. In the post credit, after learning that Sametani is the mentioned senior, Mouri, Megure, Sawatari, and Sametani's girlfriend burst into tear in memory, with Conan notes that those people wouldn't be crying if that case in snowy Nagano hadn't happened...

  • Conan's reference to the P-III device used by the Nagano police in the movie
  • Kogoro's repetition of the phrase "Don't follow me. This isn't a game" and slight alterations of it. Kogoro also said this unique quote in the aforementioned movie
