Season 29

The twenty-ninth season of the Detective Conan anime consists of the episodes aired in the year 2024.

It begun airing in January 6, 2024 and finished airing on December 28, 2024, with a total of 39 episodes. There are 12 manga-adapted episodes and 27 anime-original episodes. There were breaks totaling to 4 weeks, with remastered reruns broadcast for 9 weeks.

After the Detective Boys visit Agasa, as he has been in the hospital due to the previous injury, the Detective Boys are interrupted by a criminal who is trying to escape from Takagi's pursuit. Haibara is terrified when the criminal rushes toward her, as she finds it similar to Gin chasing her. Fortunately, Sato shows up in time and knocks the criminal out. Moments later, Takagi is about to write reports in his notebook, given by its former owner Date, when he opens to the page where his senior wrote character strings. This reminds Takagi of an old case that he and Date hadn't solved prior to the latter's death. Confused when Takagi hasn't written the report, Sato calls his name, waking him from the sad memory. The two and the children begin working together at Café Poirot to solve Date's message, and eventually learn that beside the wedding ring Date entrusted to Takagi prior to his death, he also entrusted him to solve a case where a kid is the commodity of the transaction. The Detective Boys visit Professor Agasa at the hospital. Takagi recalls the moment when he was having a stakeout with Date. He also recalls the moment before Date got hit by a car.

Thankfully, the Café has been keeping the tool that the kidnappers used to contact, so a plan to rescue the kid can be formed with the notebook's message: Amuro will follow the instruction received from the gaming device given by the kidnapper once they arrive with the boy making the sign Azusa mentioned long ago, Sato will be the one to apprehend the kidnapper as soon as they go out. The rescuing part succeeds, but not the apprehending part because the criminal prepared himself a pepper spray. Just as we thought the case can be solely left to the police, the rescued boy cries, as he is not the only one being kidnapped. The second investigation has to be made by the kids, while the three police split into different directions. Takagi approaches the kidnapper without thinking once the three police are informed about the location of the kidnapper, as he is the closest to the said location.

The Mouris are on their way home after solving a case of burglary when they meet Inspector Yamamura again. It turns out that Yamamura was called upon another incident that Conan concludes as a murder when all of them arrive at the scene. They begin to investigate the surrounding area, but the tragedy does not end here, as one of the suspects Norihiro Shimada is found dead due to strangulation.

Conan and Kogoro decide to investigate and clarify the truth of the case when they hear a witness talking about how weird the kidnapping was.

Heiji and Okita, who are passing by to practice before the match, notice the murder as well. Heiji wants to beat Okita in a kendo tournament and confess his love for Kazuha afterwards. Okita flirts with Ran, making Conan jealous. Ran is reminded of Shinichi by Okita's look, flustering her. Momiji plans a suprise victory party for Heiji. Heiji is competing in this tournament

Heiji figures out who the culprit is and solves the case. Ran rushes to bring Heiji and Okita back to the tournament; however, it is already too late. Their opponents won by default. Momiji decides to meet Heiji under better circumstances and leaves. Heiji fails to confess his love once again. Takeshi Onimaru is introduced. Heiji tries to solve the case quickly in order to make it back in time for the match and confess his love for Kazuha, but he fails once again. Heiji is competing in this tournament

When they return to the restaurant to look for the key, there is a scream from inside the building, and in addition to the body of Anju Tomari, one of the two girls who had caught the eye of many people at that party, they also meet Chihaya and Inspector Jugo Yokomizo. Jugo unexpectedly meets Chihaya at a masquerade matchmaking party.

After seeing Takagi try to prevent a suicide by grabbing a knife, Chihaya remembers the moment when Matsuda also did the same thing.

However, while they are enjoying their drinks in the dwelling, they accidentally hear about the mysterious events that have been happening since a robbery of a pair of diamond earrings worth 200 million yen. And from there a journey of mystery discovery begins while Agasa's group is still enjoying their day off.

The Mouri family invites Heiji and Kazuha to Jirokichi’s Suzuki Museum, where they happen to see Taka’aki Morofushi. The Nagano officer explains he is here because of an item that was addressed to him, he decides to join in with the group because he is curious about Kaitou Kid’s heist aiming for the Fairy’s Lip. The heist goes out as usual, with Kazuha starting to cling to Heiji for some reason. As Kazuha and Heiji were the closest to the Fairy’s Lip, the suspicion would rise toward them as a result. While Conan reveals to Ran and Kogoro that the person Kid is disguising is actually Kazuha, Heiji is still oblivious to this, and he even attempts to kiss Kazuha before Ran eventually interferes. The truth of the Fairy’s Lip is eventually revealed by the Nagano officer, as he lets Kid give back the item to its original owner, while the fake owner gets arrested. Taka’aki departs and meets up with Takagi and Sato to receive the envelope addressed to the Nagano officer, and he accepts the fact that his brother has met his end while undercovering for a mission. In the post credit, Heiji is daydreaming about the event again in a library, with Kazuha calling to remind him about eating okonomiyaki with Mikiko Hiramoto. He accidentally drops a book when he leaves the library. The book opens on a page about Hakodate, famous for its "One million dollar night view". Komei finds out his brother Hiromitsu Morofushi is Scotch via an old letter from Wataru Date and that he died on a police mission. Heiji wants to confess his love for Kazuha by catching Kid before Conan. A melon farm owner Kazuki Kumagai requests Kogoro to investigate recent melon thief incidents. Conan and Ran follow him onto the vehicle that leads them to the field. Upon arriving, the family meets some other farmers: Kanta Shikado, Takezo Arai, and Manabu Inose. The incident turns out to be caused by a human instead of either of the animals that were initially suspected at the beginning. There is another issue though: This morning, Conan saw a black van sneaking around the melon field.

Takagi and Chiba decide to make a stakeout to find if anyone walks in the store and does not own a stamp card, with the voluntary help of the kids and Kayo Mayazumi, a farsighted woman who discovers the body and sees the face of the culprit up close. Say if Mayazumi is farsighted, then what terrified her when she and the Detective Boys uncovered the outfit of an innocent celebrity who simply doesn't want to be noticed on public?

In Gunma Prefecture, Kogoro has just solved a missing case and decides to have Yamamura take him and his children somewhere in the prefecture to eat. However, upon hearing that the family are in his prefecture, Yamamura is delightful as if his savior have arrived, as he is in a case dispute with three Nagano officers who turn out to be none other than Taka'aki Morofushi, Yui Uehara, and Yamato Kansuke. In the end, everyone decides to investigate the case together. During the investigation, Yamamura feels that Taka'aki looks similar to his childhood friend, Hiromitsu Morofushi, Taka'aki confirms that the two were brothers. However, Hiromitsu was told to have quitted the police force and couldn't be contacted. After seeing Taka'aki, Yamamura recalls that he used to play together with Hiromitsu when he was a child.

The reason that the investigation feels uneasy is because Yamamura accidentally messed up the scene, but he finally remembers what the scene used to be at lunch break when he sees what Kogoro does after finishing his meal. Yamamura's memory with Hiromitsu proves to be the deciding factor, as Conan, Taka'aki, and Yamato figure out the message sent by the victim when Yamamura keeps reminding about it (not in a disruptive way). The case is over, but everything is not over yet–Yamamura's question regarding the time Hiromitsu was not present when he was supposed to prompt everyone to go to the base to uncover what Hiromitsu sent to his dear friend. Taka'aki does not reveal the death of Hiromitsu Morofushi, his younger brother, to Yamamura. Instead, he encourages Yamamura to still have hope that both he and Hiromitsu are still serving justice together.

Cheerfully, Kanoko accepts the fact that her husband does not cheat on her; she then invites Kogoro for a dinner. After eating, Kogoro drives Kanoko home, and a squeal is heard distinctly...

Kogoro and Conan visit Inspector Megure, because of their unpromising progress on the case that they are helping investigate. The suspect in that case is Kengo Kitao, a former elementary school teacher. Eight days ago, he was cuffed by the police at a construction area as the suspect in a murder case that took place nearby; strangely, Kitao admits his crime rather quickly. However, the police interrogate him, yet he shows queer behaviours that make Megure hesitate to prosecute him. Inspector Megure and his colleagues think that there must be some switcheroos behind the case; consequently, they start to search for other suspects related to that murder case. Whereupon, a person who is related to Kitao emerges gradually...

Whereupon, he leads the child to the bathroom, and there, they realise that there are no spaces to hide, thus they exchange their clothes and Conan shrewdly rescues the hostage.

Conan has undergone an abduction incident as a result of exchanging clothes with the real hostage, Kazuo Mimura. Having declared that he is willing to assist the two kidnappers after learning that they did not commit any crime, he inquires, "Are you forced to kidnap Kazuo because your child is also being held as hostage?" When Conan understands the situation, he conceives a plan to discover the real culprit.

The Detective Boys attend a firefly festival to commemorate a Shinto shrine in a village. The truck soon arrives with the fireflies and they are released into the fields. Later, one of the truck drivers, Tokurou Nakamine, is found murdered, and three of the villagers are the prime suspects. Conan notices a flashlight Genta found inside the truck and realizes who the murderer is. Using Agasa's voice, Conan reveals the murderer. The culprit then takes Haibara hostage and attempts to flee but is eventually apprehended.

At Restaurant Danny's Dining, Agasa, Conan, and Haibara are enjoying their times while the Detective Boys stalk Kobayashi, Chiba, and Shukichi–whom each of the three notices individually in the restaurant. However, it is shown that all of them are not having dinner with their match. Another however is that someone dies, again. Since in each couple of this weird collab has at least one member of the police force, things that are not supposed to happen, have to happen. In a restaurant, Chiba is seen with Kobayashi, Shukichi with with Naeko, and Shiratori with Yumi. When they meet each other due to a murder case, they are angry at each other, thinking each is cheating with the other. The Detective Boys find out about the triple date.

Agasa's group was sent out in part one after Haibara told the males to act professionally during the crime scene, though the informations are not disrupted because they have collected from the suspects, and Yumi keeps feeding Conan information since. Suddenly, Yumi realizes something from the suspects, and decides to solve the case with Naeko instead. It turns out that the women marked a date on their calendars, and the men were preparing a surprise present for their girlfriends for said date. In order to help them pick the right present, the men asked the other women they knew.

A quarrel between Makio Yuida and Kozo Yuida over a very generous offer from a person named Mayu Iokida; and a stakeout made by the police are both seem to be related to Makio directly as the Detective Boys, Conan and Haibara suspect the offer was a fraud made by Makio while the police suspect him as the leader of the robber gang that only him hasn’t been caught. But when Kozo is calling Makio, Mitsuhiko notices some anomalies suggesting that he is in danger, so Kozo and Chiba go there to check his well-being while Mitsuhiko goes somewhere.

During the police inquiry, she admits that the man was the one who killed her husband, Takizawa Akira, and stole jewelry stones worth 100 million yen from a bartender. Conan suspects that the woman is hiding something.

Shokichi Hazama is going to his apartment while talking to Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys. As he arrives at his home, he becomes a suspect of a robbery that happened in his neighbor's apartment. He gives his fingerprint voluntarily to the police so they can prove his innocence, but it makes him a suspect of a murder that happened one week ago instead. This is because his fingerprint was found on one of the items seen at the crime scene.

Conan, Heiji, and Kogoro arrive at Kyousuke Kabumoto’s house to discuss the script for a TV show that features Momiji as one of the actors, and Kuroda as the advisor of the show. Meanwhile, Iori is taking Ran and Kazuha to different pastry restaurants so Momiji can have her lifetime confession with Heiji. Momiji’s plan is, however, interrupted with the death of Kabumoto, with the scene looking identical to the suicide of another actor, Ninka Gyoda. Kazuha worries Momiji is trying to get close to Heiji. Heiji Hattori appears.

Since Kabumoto consumes sleeping pills before taking naps as a routine, the police and the detectives investigate how the victim consumed more than the usual take. Meanwhile, Ran and Kazuha are rushing to finish the sweets at each location, but decide to enjoy this sweet party instead, hoping that Heiji won’t fall for Momiji. Momiji recalls an unusual sound from the lollipops Kogoro dropped when he entered the scene for the first time, this helps Conan and Heiji figure out the trick the culprit used. First appearance of the Mysterious Old Man and the Mysterious man with sunglasses. Muga Iori is revealed to be a former Public Security Bureau officer who served under the nickname "Sakakibara". Kazuha worries Momiji is trying to get close to Heiji. Momiji takes advantage of the awkward position between her and Heiji to kiss him, only to get interrupted by Conan. Heiji Hattori appears.

However, the Ramen Shop “Ichiban” Owner named Eiichi Banba has been acting pretty strange ever since his disappearance. Maybe he knew what had happened to the owner of the “Ogataken”?

Kogoro, Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys attend the opening of the Moving Police Box, but Kogoro and Conan have to pick up Ran, so they ask Haibara to look after the Detective Boys. However, Haibara and the Detective Boys get caught in a carjacking and are deprived of all means of communication when enjoying their ride in the said police box. Luckily, Haibara hid her Detective Boys badge, so she was able to send out a signal for help from Conan. Things don't end there, because the carjackers, who were also the watch thieves, were found dead in the car explosion that followed. So who killed them?

A man named Ryoichi Doba is found dead in his apartment. One of the suspects, among others who hold a grudge against the victim, Satsuki Makabe, claims that she had an alibi for the time of the victim's death. There are two problems: The testimony of his younger brother Yuto Makabe contradicts her alibi; and Satsuki and Yuto are not in good terms. Whose testimony is correct? Or are both false?

Conan, Haibara, and The Detective Boys are playing Frisbee in a park when a dog named Matsunosuke launches off of Conan's head and caught the Frisbee. Matsunosuke's owner, Kanae Asakawa, apologizes and takes Conan's jacket to get it cleaned after Matsunosuke leaves dirt all over it. The next day, when Conan and the Detective Boys arrive at her house to get the jacket, they meet Kanae's friend, Tomoko, and see Matsunosuke in his dog house, asleep.

A mysterious ninja-themed event that smells like a crime draws the attention of Sonoko, Ran, Ayumi, Haibara, and Sato, who later dress up like kunoichi and equip the walkie talkie to begin their kunoichi day adventure! Soon, some anomalies in the event lead the group to the Kaneko Jewelry store, where the precious Kingscote crown has been stolen and Keita Kaneko is bound and gagged by an unknown robber.

On the first day, there are two people come to resolve matters with Kamiyu. On the second day, a police officer comes to confirm an anonymous tip he received yesterday, stating that Kamiyu buried something on the day he hired Kogoro. The tip turns out to be true, as everyone discover the body of a person that is later confirmed to be So Fujieda. The first thought of the police and the Mouris, after investigating if Kamiyu killed the novelist or not, is that someone was trying to frame Kamiyu. However, the investigation yields no results, so they consider another angle: Who would benefit from the victim's death?

Miss Kobayashi leads Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys to the storehouse of Edogawa Ranpo’s old residence where they meet Professor Goto, who later happens to be a suspect of a murder because he was caught by camera footage from a convenience store near the murder scene when he went out following a call offering to show him Ranpo’s unpublished manuscript. They decide to eat at the school cafeteria following the suggestion of Professor Goto's assistant Ryosuke Okumoto when Genta's stomach growls, and they join a conversation that soon gets awkward when another member of Ranpo Association Shunji Oguruma mentions what happened to Katsumine. Later that night, another murder occurs at the storehouse itself as Okumoto is found dead because of strangulation, which is similar to the case that Goto is suspected for.

Conan has to share to everyone in Kobayashi’s group about his unusual feeling toward the suspects when hearing the name Katsumine, and for some reason, the police have gathered information about this man and told that he was suspected of being killed by someone rather than drowning. This proved to be essential in helping Conan figure the motive of the murder, thus denouncing a past crime revolving around Katsumine’s death and stopping an upcoming murder from happening.

According to the Masumi and Mary's plan, they should’ve taken advantage of Conan taking a bath after he opened the rigged bottle to steal the antidote, but he doesn’t bring any along. Conan then gets to see the code of the first hotel bombing Masumi promises him to. But before any further discussion can be made, the duo realize that the hotel is the third target of the bomber. To make things worse, the receptionists of the hotel are not willing to give the duo the code of the second serial bombing, until the representative lawyer of the hotel, Eri Kisaki, decides to use her influence to help them this time.

After interrogating the three people who appeared in the room where the attempted bombing is notified, Kisaki forms a plan to evacuate the people as she reveals that she had called the police before so they can ambush the bomber. However, there’s one problem: The bomber’s location to perform the call is not where Kisaki and the police expected, but luckily Conan was able to predict this and confront the bomber to end the case. However, things haven’t ended there as the fire hydrant is started by someone, forcing an emergency evacuation. The Mysterious man with sunglasses starts the fire hydrant of the hotel to make Mary and Masumi run outside of the hotel. The Mysterious Old Man spots Mary, and mentions that the situation is just as he dreamed of.

A trip to the Beika amusement park on its last day of operation turns into an investigation mission to find the remaining robber from a robbery 6 years ago when the kids see Takagi and Chiba on a stakeout. In the investigation, there is a mother's mysterious missing child, a delivery guy who may have had his package canceled by someone, and a security guard's suspicious behavior. We discover some sad truths about the security guard and a disgusting truth about the robbery.
