Part 1
Conan meets Masumi Sera when he is seen happy after buying three detective novels for a good price at a Haido bookstore following her suggestion, but she couldn’t open the bottle she is carrying as she has just finished repairing her car. Conan has no choice but to open it for her, not knowing that it is carbonated and it splatters all over him. Luckily, Masumi is currently staying at a hotel nearby, so she could help let Conan change his clothes there, in which he refuses because there have been two hotel bombing cases reported. But Masumi offers him to see the code left at the scenes of the incident in her computer, sparking his interest to investigate.
It seems that the bottle that Masumi brought in the morning was an arrangement between Masumi and her mother so they could attempt to steal the antidote when Conan is taking a bath, but today he didn't bring it, so their plan is cancelled. Later, the reason why she was able to get the code of the first bombing was because she hacked into the phone of the employee who posted the code on the Internet after hearing rumours that the code was taken from it. In addition, the bomber also threatened not to evacuate or call the police.
Conan suddenly asks Masumi about the girl living with her after noticing some of the tea bags having signs that he assumes is British style of using tea when she is getting some for him. But before she could react, she and Conan hear voices outside, so the two go out and find out about the code of the aforementioned bomber and inform this to a bellboy named Aruto Kureishi, with him mentioning that the receptionist has received a call from the bomber with similar threats.
The situation is getting dangerous as the bomb will go off in an hour when Conan and Sera meet up with Kisaki again and the two begin to inform her of the situation, since she is the most trustworthy person available for this kind of situation. The police have sent out a code from the second bombing to this hotel, but Conan and Masumi couldn’t have it, so they want to ask Kisaki for information and permission to join the case. At first, she refuses, but under the insistence of the two of them after knowing that she is the lawyer representing this hotel, she joins. After receiving the code from Kisaki, Conan quickly reveals how the bomber had set the code, thereby quickly reducing the number of suspected rooms to 6. From there, Kisaki plans to help send the bellboy and cleaner to start questioning in Masumi's room since they are most likely the bomber, with Mary also secretly helping so that she could preserve her identity.
Part 2
So the investigation to find the bomber begin:
- The first person to be questioned is the cleaner, she confirms that she had cleaned Danji Rinzaki's room but did not find any code at that time, not to mention she also expresses her discomfort at having to clean the room because he always violated the smoking policy and was kicked out of several hotels that coincidentally had bombings, luckily this hotel owner is a fan of his so he is allowed to stay. In addition, she was also asked to bring humidifiers to both rooms because she heard that someone was coughing, this accidentally alerted Sera because Mary often coughed for some reason.
- The second person to be questioned is Kureishi, who says that he had left immediately after delivering Rinzaki's luggage and had not entered his room.
- Finally, Rinzaki, although somewhat uncomfortable, accepts the questioning. He says that he had seen the code on the table near the humidifier after checking in and wondered if it belonged to the bomber. Kisaki lies that it was not and asks to search the room, he initially refuses but after hearing that he will be responsible if the bomb explodes, he complies.
However, Conan and Masumi (and others) are kicked out of the room soon after.
Despite being kicked out of the room, Kisaki, Conan, and Masumi show no signs of anxiety, and calmly tell the other two suspects that it will be fine to secretly evacuate those rooms, with Kureishi notifying room 2410; Kisaki and the cleaner will notify rooms 1412 and 1420; Masumi will evacuate rooms 1124 and 1214; and Conan will notify the receptionist. However, what we don't know is that Kisaki had secretly called the police before and now she is currently meeting with Megure and Takagi with the cleaner, implying that the truth of the matter has also been revealed.
