Haibara is terrified when the criminal rushes toward her, as she finds it similar to Gin chasing her. Fortunately, Sato shows up in time and knocks the criminal out. Moments later, Takagi is about to write reports in his notebook, given by its former owner [[Date]], when he opens to the page where his senior wrote character strings. This reminds Takagi of an old case that he and Date hadn't solved prior to the latter's death. Confused when Takagi hasn't written the report, Sato calls his name, awaking him from the sad memory. Yamamura's memory with Hiromitsu proves to be the deciding factor, as Conan, Taka'aki, and Yamato figure out the message sent by the victim when Yamamura keeps reminding about it (not in a disruptive way). The case is over, but everything is not over yet–Yamamura's question regarding the time Hiromitsu was not present when he was supposed to prompt everyone to go to the base to uncover what Hiromitsu sent to his dear friend.
