Manga to anime changes
- In the manga, as well as the special that previously adapted this story, Kaito is still dressed as Kaitou Kid when he answers Snake's phone call. In the anime, he is in his civilian clothes. This arguably creates a plot hole, as Snake should now be aware of Kaitou Kid's civilian identity, but has never acted on this information when it would be useful.
Trivia
- When Kaito asks who made his gadgets, Jii responds that it was a friend of his - a doctor, whom Kaito will probably meet one day. As he says this, a familiar yellow Volkswagen Beetle is seen out the window driving away, implying that Agasa is the supplier of Kaitou Kid's gadgets.
- The car Jii uses to pick up Kaito is a Silver 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera [996].
