The J.League Starting Whistle (J(ジェー)リーグ 開幕の警笛(ホイッスル) Jē Rīgu Kaimaku no Keiteki?) is the 1207th episode of the Detective Conan anime. It's one of the commemorative episodes for the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan anime, as well as the fourth J.League collaboration episode.

Conan and the Detective Boys are watching the opening match of the J.League, which is filled with excitement. Former Japan national team players Hiroaki Morishima and Yūka Kageyama are also in the commentary booth, and the match is a heated affair with VAR decisions being made. However, Conan senses something ominous when he sees Kogoro and Megure guarding the Mayor Nanako Eguchi of Toraharu. It turns out that a bomb has been planted somewhere in the stadium, which is packed with spectators, and will explode at the end of the match. With time running out, Conan pursues the culprit and the bomb.[1]

Situation

Renji Matsuo is working as secretary for Nanako Eguchi, mayor of Toraharu city. He has been waiting at one of Eguchi’s cars, waiting for her, when his phone suddenly rings. When he picks up the call, the other end of the line blares the referee’s whistle loudly, causing the pipe bomb installed under the car Matsuo has been standing to explode. The man is left gravely injured for the rest of the episode.

Bombing - Attempted murder
Location: In front of Toraharu City Hall
Victim: Renji Matsuo
Age: 45 years old
Weapon: Pipe bomb
Suspects: Unknown
Matsuo went off with a bang after the other end of his call blared the referee's whistle loudly. He barely survived from the explosion and was taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Agasa, Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys are at an undisclosed stadium to watch the football match between Big Osaka and Tokyo Spirits, the opening match of this year’s J-League. While the match is going on, Conan notices a man who wears a dark yellow shirt and a yellow cap looking elsewhere in the stadium. His behavior makes Conan suspect what he is plotting to. At the time, Haibara finds Kogoro sitting with Nanako in a room for special guests to spectate the match, so she points Conan to her direction. Coincidentally, Just as when Conan has a look at the old man, Takagi and Megure reach out to Kogoro and Nanako for something. Haibara searches the internet as she fears something is off, and discovers the bombing that happened earlier.

Meanwhile, Takagi and Megure have brought Kogoro and Nanako to an undisclosed room inside the stadium to inform them about the bombing that just happened. This prompts Nanako to show the police about the threat message that she received this morning, which she believes to be from someone who opposes her city land use plan. She also recalls about a man who sent her a cut-off ball, believing him to be from the people who want to buy the youth soccer team’s field for cheap and flip it.

Moments later, the first round of the match ends and Conan takes advantage of the break to investigate the situation, of which the Detective Boys are soon aware when Haibara explains to Agasa. They decide to carry out their own investigation, much to Haibara and Agasa’s dismay.

To sum up with the investigation, Conan finds a connection between the man he saw in the first round of the match, named Iwashimizu, and the people targeting Toraharu city mayor. He then gets in touch with VAR team members and their video operating room when the Detective Boys are investigating on their own, as they mistook them for suspicious people. He once again meets Takagi and Megure, who are trying to find Iwashimizu, and suggests doing so with the help of the video operating room.
