  1. Yea it has, although given the character cast, I definitely wouldn't be surprised if we get Sleeping Kogoro here. Last Sleeping Kogoro case was File 859 right?
  2. I think it's pretty clear that while Shinichi and Ran do share the same beliefs, that Ran doesn't do everything because "that's what Shinichi would do". The New York Case is an example of course, and Ran acted without hesitation to save both Sharon and Rose. Shinichi's quote in that file is exactly what Ran believes, that you don't need a reason. I suppose it's a problem because it can be presented ambiguously throughout the series, like in the Besieged Detective Agency, or in File 313 where she does say something similar to "Shinichi wouldn't have, or sounds like something Shinichi would've said etc.", but regardless of the presentation, It's not as if she does everything because of Shinichi. It's just because they have so much common ground and that the quote in the New York case is very special to her.
  3. File was pretty good! Looking forward to the next chapters.
  4. The sweet, salty, spicy case? Definitely agree with ya there. I think a recent example for me would be the Kite case. I didn't really like the case itself, and probably would have just outright disliked it if it weren't for Conan's shenanigans and some of their interactions.
  5. Regardless if the case sucks, I think it'll be comedy gold! Definitely looking forward to it.
  6. Crunchyroll is now airing subbed episodes 3 days earlier, on Saturdays @ 12PM PST.
  7. 1. Quite positive Date is confirmed by Gosho not to be Scotch in a postcard. http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/forum/topic/1555-translating-interviews/?p=358939 2. We don't know too much about Kuroda, so I don't think anyone knows exactly how he knows. Maybe it's a rumor going around in the Nagano prefecture, seeing as how Morofushi, Kansuke, and Yui all have noticed Conan's intelligence, with Kansuke even making a remark about how he thinks Conan is the one behind Sleeping Kogoro. Kuroda was the managing officer of the Nagano prefecture, and he is now the Superintendent of the MPD 1st Division. I'd say he has some access to information in the least. Maybe he conducted his own investigation? Why is really beyond me, seeing as he (supposedly) recently came out of a coma. 3. That's why it is a theory. I'd say it's a possibility, for sure, seeing as he didn't really have any intention to kill her, and he knew her mother as a child. Hacking Kogoro's computer and turning over the information to the organization feels quite risky, but it might be a necessity to really make the organization think she is dead. 4. We don't really know. I'd say it's likely seeing as how the one thing that always added up in Rum's description was that he had a prosthetic eye.

  9. Howdy! Welcome to DCW. Everyone starts somewhere! If I can offer any advice at all in regards to this forum, I would just be careful about certain topics or you'll easily get spoiled. I wouldn't outright mention this, but knowing the results of many of the suspicion arcs in a mystery series can be quite disappointing. The internet is most unkind in regard to certain spoilers, especially seeing as how DC has spanned for over 20 years, and many of these mysteries were resolved years ago, but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that. In any case, hope to see you around

    Bourbon

He definitely knows there's more to Conan for sure, as he's noticed his intellect on several occasions. Does he think that he is a shrunken adult or anything of that nature? I don't think so, but he is presented as a good detective, comparable to the rest of the gang (aside from the unsatisfying conclusion of the Scarlet arc). I think he'll find out eventually. The evidence is basically in the Poirot scene where Conan calls Bourbon a liar, and he replies with "You're one to talk". They both know there is more to each other than what is on the surface.
  11. I'd say my encounter with the series was pretty similar, although I'm not sure when it aired on Adult Swim or when I caught it, but I think 2004 or 05. I don't think I ever caught all 50 episodes though. I remember it being such a tease at the time when Conan returned to being "Jimmy" for the first time though. It did have a really crappy time-slot though, which was quite frustrating. (I think 1am EST). I remember buying a bunch of cheap blank tapes down at the dollar store to record it after almost immediately falling in love with it after seeing the first few episodes (Them TDKs!). Unfortunately, I moved out soon after, and my father relocated, and I have no clue where the tapes are. It's a shame too, not that I couldn't rewatch those episodes, but seeing all the commercials, and those special bumpers before each episode was pretty cool! I haven't really "watched" Adult Swim in years, last time I flipped it on I was really disappointed in what has become of it though. Sometimes I like to just wallow in my nostalgia and let it consume me. I suppose I take things a bit for granted now, given it's been a whole decade later, but I'm still in love with the series despite some of its flaws and some of the recent story arcs. Sorry for rambling!
  12. Despite her being one of my favorite characters in the series, I'd have to say this is definitely annoying, and she usually only brings something up when it's suddenly relevant to Shinichi's case. It makes you almost question if she really is intent on bringing down the organization. I suppose this is probably more or less how Gosho decides to stall plot progression though. I've noticed a genuine dislike of her character particularly from some Shin/Ran fans, but it's not as if Conan/Ai as a romantic interest will ever exist in canon. I don't see why other's thoughts on that pairing in particular should take away from her character. I've found her character back-story and development a bit more interesting in comparison to the other characters in the series.
  13. My guess would be because that's when they are contracted to release it.
  14. Probably. I'm curious to see how they will censor (If they censor) the Kawakanajima case, considering it's the first decapitation since I think Bandaged Man Murder Case.
  15. Agree with you, Although I think 783 has its moments as well. Their reactions at the end of the episode were priceless. Thought the animation was done pretty well throughout the car chase, which is good, considering it's probably the best scene throughout the entire arc.
  16. Thought the animation was significantly better in this one, although there were still a couple iffy moments, and the noses are still weird at some points. Nothing as major as last episode though. Found it to be fairly enjoyable overall.
  17. Well, I've never really been a fan of anime (generally speaking). That said, I've never really made an actual effort to really get involved with any. Excluding DC & MK, the last time I watched any anime was when some of the "older" shows were aired on Adult Swim around the same time as "Case Closed". The last one I remembered that I ever finished was FLCL, and it was only 6 episodes Perhaps I'll change my ways, or maybe that'll just be me having my mid-life crisis
  18. Just started Gintama last night after hearing some good things about it, and I'm enjoying it so far. Other than Detective Conan and Magic Kaito, this is the first anime I've watched in about a decade. Maybe I'll stick with it.
  19. They do exist, but I'm quite sure there are rules on this forum about linking specifically to certain content, so you'll have to find it yourself. You'll probably have a really tough time finding these specials subbed in certain languages, if they even exist in that regard at all, and raw files aren't easy to find either. Black History should be easy to find (Arabic sub). You'll definitely have to do some digging. The same can be said about certain remasters. Some of them aren't available subbed, and the raw files can be difficult to find.
  20. Welcome to DCW! Kid does not know Conan's identity in canon. As far as the movies are concerned, yes, he does, but the general anime or manga, no. I think we can say for certain that he knows Conan is no ordinary child, but I don't think there is anything that suggests Kid knows Conan is Shinichi. As far as the Mystery Train is concerned. As you may know, he worked out a deal with Conan as he had found him out and didn't want to create a mess. In return, he helped Conan follow through with his plan. How well he was informed of the situation is really up in the air, but I'd say he doesn't know. (Not too many people are thrilled with Kid's involvement in the Mystery Train, and I don't blame them). Kid knows Conan's identity in all of the "Kid" movies (3,8,14). I assume it's the same for 19 as well.
  21. Probably the most likely scenario. I'm sure Gosho has changed quite a bit as he's progressed through the story. I won't believe for a moment that he had everything meticulously planned. I do think there was a boss though, but it probably was changed if one was present in the early stages of the manga. At this point, everyone might as well be a suspect
  22. I personally enjoyed most of the Scarlet arc, and I was looking forward to the anime adaptation of it, but am a bit disappointed with the lackluster animation. The facial details are really poor, and even more noticeable than the previous episode. Here's a couple quick screencaps: http://i.imgur.com/dMzZhW2.png http://i.imgur.com/IrOKvfN.png http://i.imgur.com/YIxMfnv.png http://i.imgur.com/otQFeTU.png http://i.imgur.com/Hpae3At.png http://i.imgur.com/qfZk0Z9.png I think it's mostly Jodie still, and I'm sure there are plenty more throughout the episode. The nose shadows in particular just seem really off, and some of Jodie's background moments are just cringe-worthy. If animation is poor in other episodes, I certainly didn't notice it as much as I have these last two. All that being said, the close-ups were, for the most part, alright. Maybe I'm being a little over-dramatic, but I think at least as far as the animation is concerned, all plot aside, it sucked.
  23. I liked the episode, but the animation seemed really weak to me. I think it was mainly the way Jodie was drawn, but Camel seemed off too. I really hope they do a better job with the next episode.
  24. Dunno either, although sometimes I have problems loading images on DCW. Here is a screen-cap: http://i.imgur.com/Zr5LUgB.png
