  1. The line is "Kudo-kun? You would probably never even dream that you are already part of a project the Black Organization has been working on already for half a century."
  2. First of all, welcome to DCW, Hope you enjoy it here!

  5. First of all, welcome to DCW! In one of the recent MK chapters, Gosho introduced a character that has a prosthetic eye (Goudzou), just like Rum supposedly does. Now I'm not going to suggest that he is Rum for obvious reasons. In the anime, we got to see how the prosthetic was portrayed, though through most of this episode, half of his glasses were shaded just like the manga. I'm not sure how this will translate to DC's anime, and if Kuroda will be showed in a similar light. After all, Magic Kaito 1412 was animated by A-1 Pictures. As far as Magic Kaito and Detective Conan being related... well, there are definitely similarities for sure, but Gosho loves to reuse story elements (and character models, *cough cough*) Here is basically what Gosho had to say dismissing that MK and DC are connected. Not to sound like a broken record, but as far as the Rum has already appeared hint... I still think it's a good possibility that this could be referring to Lum's cameo since that hint coincided with that file, and that Gosho drew Lum as Rum back in 2007 for a panel honoring Urusei Yatsura. I just wouldn't be too quick to rule out any characters that showed up after that hint was made. He also added a laugh at the end of said hint, but... Gosho laughs at everything, it doesn't really mean anything. It's still a possibility that Rum could be an entirely new character that has not yet been introduced (and it's also entirely possible that he is one of many characters that have already been introduced).
  6. That would be pretty cool, but a bit optimistic for an AO these days - I can't even remember the last time the boss's email address was brought up either. On an unrelated note... I'd like to know how Crunchyroll will handle 1/2hour specials. Should be bound to get one in the near future. I wonder if they'll release it in parts like FUNimation, or if they'll even sub them at all. We haven't had a 2 hour special in a very long time (last time was Episode 479 I think)
  7. Episode 795 was pretty good. It's one of the few Detective Boys cases that I actually liked, and it was an AO. Wasn't really expecting that. Thought the animation was pretty stellar in this episode. Can definitely recommend checking out this AO!
  8. More likely it's referring to the Movie. Most of the recent mentions about Amuro in AC were about Movie 20... but I'll hold out some hope for him to appear in 936 I don't know anything about K-ON! but maybe it means it has something to do with music. We haven't had a music related case in the manga in quite some time... Not that I can remember (maybe I'm forgetting something). Last time was the Karaoke case if that counts (619-621) or the Stradivarius case (470-474)

  10. I always like the Kogoro centric episodes. Not a good case (in terms of the mystery) and a bit bland, but certainly watchable, and always nice to see Kogoro be reliable. Liked the scenery and music in the episode too. Heard some good things about the next AO!
  11. Sango saw Haibara in her first appearance and in episode 246-247 (File 312-313) and has failed to take any action at all. There might be more instances, but those are the only two I know off the top of my head from the manga. The age is certainly a factor, but it's also possible that the boss does not look his age. Because Sango and Jugo are twins, it's not really sensible that he would be running a crime syndicate at his age, especially one that we know has existed for at least half a century... which is mainly why I brought it up in the first place. The boss could be a number of people, and that certainly includes one time case characters. At least with the evidence we have, we really can't make more than guesses as to who the boss could be. However, it's pretty easy to rule out a number of suspects. I don't think the frequency of when a character shows up should really have anything to do with it. There isn't a "right number" (and DC fans are thorough anyways), and this could apply to several characters. Suggesting that he'd be hiding his personality is also a stretch, unless of course you believe he is a world class actor. I might say this about a couple other characters but not Sango. He's not particularly hot-tempered, but he likes to get in your face and say what he is thinking . I think it's safe to say he is genuinely enthralled by Sleeping Kogoro, and he doesn't question it.

  13. Plans change, and Gosho didn't even expect Detective Conan to last, let alone go on for 21 years - While the boss has "appeared", I don't think we know if it's just a name, or a full on appearance. In any case, I don't think it would be either of the Yokomizo brothers. Not only is there nothing to really suggest this, but both brothers seem to have a strong sense of justice, and don't really seem to be nearly capable as one would think the boss should be. They don't seem nearly as experienced, or even old enough to be running a crime syndicate (or soulless), and I think can further be disproved since they are twins. Not to mention Sango has several "odd" traits, and is constantly fanboying over Kogoro's deduction ability (but so does Yamamura). I don't think the boss has had any close interaction with Haibara, or has even seen her since she has shrunk. Both Sango and Jugo have got a clear look at the girl. Had they been the boss, I'm sure they would have been able to piece something together, or at least had enough suspicions to investigate. At least this is the sensible theory since quite a few characters have already been able to identify her simply by looking at her, and the members of the organization should definitely know her image as a child (Pisco and Vermouth both knew).

  15. Though it has already been mentioned, I'm still under the impression that Gosho could have been referring to Lum with that AC hint (Rum has already appeared). I'm pretty sure the hint coincided with that File (906), and he did have that panel for the MyxLum34 section in 2007 with Lum depicted as Rum, the newest B.O member (though I'm not sure he'd really be referencing something that obscure). The Lum cameo in 906 was most likely inspired from that section too. Not sure if the interview has been posted here either (but here it is) Not discounting that Rum could have already appeared either, it's easily possible, but I think Rum could also be a new character too. If he has already appeared, I can't really think of anyone in particular that could fit, not reasonably anyways..
  16. Yep! By the time Movie 18 was out we did have quite a bit to draw from though (in both anime and manga). If Rum does make a proper appearance, even by the time M20 is aired in Japan the anime won't really have anything to put the pieces together (Granted the anime is only 7 cases behind the manga...) Many will see the movie around October, so maybe the anime will get out some relevant information, but only if Rum makes an appearance in the manga relatively soon... Either way, I suppose if Rum does make an actual appearance, I'd consider it a much bigger reveal than Movie 18, at least if you are partial to the anime. I'm definitely not holding out hope for an actual reveal. I wonder if we'll see anything of significance in the trailer...
  17. I suppose it depends on how he will "appear". If he makes a proper appearance in the movie, he'll probably show up in the manga soon. Movie 18's "reveal" didn't really mean much since many people put together that Subaru was Akai long before the Scarlet series, mostly after the Mystery Train, though the situation might be similar to M18.

  19. Well I did call it "decent", 5 isn't exactly good - I did say some positives about the movie. I think it certainly qualifies as average. Of course I'm not saying that it's even the 9th best movie of the bunch. Most of the recent movies are on a similar scale for me. Many of them are just average. The Detective Boys don't really have a strong presence in Movie 19 at all. They are mostly just there. Nothing significant that I really remember anyways... I'm really apathetic towards Kid's appearances (but I definitely don't hate him). Kid cases are usually the ones I gloss over the most, but I do like a good portion of the early cases. Movie 3 is just beautifully done. The soundtrack is amazing too, and it's always a nice treat watching that movie. The first 6 have a ton of replay value for me.
  20. Movie 3 is excellent, and one of my overall favorites. Not really a fan of the others, but I think I'd agree with your ranking. I'd place M19 over 14 and 8 (with 8 being much better than 14, but that's not saying much, is it?). I don't have a strong opinion on M10 though. I might change my opinion on 19 after I see it a few more times, as I'm planning on watching the official release and when M-L puts it out as well. For now, if we're putting it on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best, I'd give it a 5. The movie is something that'll resonate a lot more with fans of Kaito Kid. If people enjoyed the previous few Kid movies, they should definitely like this one. I don't really care for Kid in DC. I like him in his own series but my exact feelings towards him in the movies and in canon are of apathy.
  21. It was definitely pretty typical for a Detective Conan movie... with no shortage of over the top scenes. That being said, I thought it was better than some of the previous "Kid" movies, and I thought it had great pacing, which made it quite enjoyable for me. It was "decent" though, not great, not terrible, just decent. The trailer also hyped people up for things that weren't there in the first place (not really a big surprise, but is always a bit disappointing). I'll agree with you on the OST and the movie only character. I did actually like the animation though (it's not like the people responsible for animating Scarlet or the Shiragami case were involved ) I never expect too much from DC movies these days. They are more or less action movies and the mystery aspect is never particularly strong so I naturally lower my expectations every single time I go to watch them I'm really looking forward to Movie 20 though. Trailer should be out in a couple months I think.
