Kimiya Tomoyose is a recent widow whose husband left her a wooden box filled with a secret just for her. She asks the Jirokichi Suzuki for help in opening the box containing a rare moonstone but Kaito Kid has his eyes on it as well!

    Manga to anime changes

    Main article: List of differences between the manga and anime
    • Conan and Haibara's clothes are not the same as in the manga at the beginning of the episode.
    • Haibara remarking that Subaru was wearing a turtleneck in summer was left out of the episode because the episode aired in January. (Though it was dubbed back in for some international versions that aired later)
    • In the manga, the old lady decides to offer the book Ran wanted to read to her. This dialogue was cut from the anime version.


    Trivia

    • This is the first dubbed episode in China since The Man Who Died Twice after a hiatus in Mandarin dub. The resumed episodes have new voice actors and sport a Mainland Chinese accent as opposed to the original Taiwanese accent.
