Season 15

The fifteenth season of the Detective Conan anime consists of the episodes aired in the year 2010.

It begun airing in January 16, 2010 and finished airing on December 25, 2010, with a total of 40 episodes. There are 27 manga-adapted episodes and 13 anime-original episodes. There were breaks totaling to a week, with remastered reruns broadcast for 10 weeks. The first special of Magic Kaito: Kid the Phantom Thief first aired in this season in April 17, 2010.

Kogoro is hired by the Nijimura company to investigate a counterfeit company who has been copying their styles in handbags. Kogoro, Ran, and Conan witness the president of Nijimura become kidnapped by an unknown culprit. The culprit sends the president's wife, Saki Nijimura, a ransom note demanding her to place the money in a water-proof Nijimura handbag and to meet with him on a train at a specific time. While the police spy Saki, she runs into a crowd and receives a note demanding her to throw the handbag into the river below the train. Saki does as demanded and the river carries the handbag away. The next day, the police discover the empty purse downstream and President Nijimura's body in the woods. Conan notices something strange about the handbag they found and realizes it is a handbag from the company that has been counterfeiting Nijimura products. Conan gathers the police and Kogoro to the scene and tranquilizes Kogoro to reveal that the handbag actually sank to the bottom of the river and that Saki had staged the kidnapping and the ransom note. Saki confesses and reveals that the president had been selling off her designs for the handbags to the counterfeit companies and that he had gambled their family into debt.

Jodie Starling sees a man who looks the deceased Shuichi Akai with a burn on his face but dismisses it as an illusion. She heads to the bank to withdraw some money when a bank robbery occurs. The bank robbers begin taking cellphones away from the bankers and separates them into two groups, one group has bankers with relatives or friends, and the others are those without. One of the hostages happens to be Scar Akai causing Jodie to believe the possibility that Akai is alive. Jodie manages to lure one of the robbers to the bathroom and incapacitate him and finds the Detective Boys hiding in the stalls. Jodie tells Conan the bank robber's are separating people and taping their mouth and eyes. She is knocked out by one of the robbers from behind who then hide the body of the incapacitated robber in one of the bathroom and disguise him as a normal banker. Conan and the Detective Boys then formulate a plan to capture the four bank robbers. First appearance of Scar Akai. Jodie sees Scar Akai who resembles Shuichi Akai with a scar on his face.   Jodie meets Scar Akai for the first time and thinks there is a possibility that Akai is alive and he survived the assassination by the Black Organization. She later becomes one of the hostages during the bank robbery.

Conan manages to incapacitate one of the robbers and realizes the robber had changed into his clothes and realizes that the robbers plan to escape the bank by pretending to be the hostages. Conan reveals to the Detective Boys that from the evidence of the robbers dialogue, they plan to choose five hostages, without friends or relatives, and disguise them as the bank robbers where the real robbers will then detonate an explosive and kill the five chosen hostages. The Detective Boys manage to detonate the explosives safely in an elevator and Conan manages to locate the three robbers who have mingled into the crowd. However Conan is grabbed by a robber who regained consciousness and is about to be killed until the robber is shot by scar Akai. The gunshot causes the police to infiltrate the bank and arrest the robbers. While Conan wonders who shot the robber, Jodie realizes it could only have been Scar Akai.

Kogoro enters a barber shop and rests in a chair with a towel over his face. A few minutes later, a statue breaks and the owner, Ebihara, is found dead with a poisoned dart through his heart. Conan investigates and realizes who the murderer is. He tranquilizes Kogoro to reveal that Masao Noda, the man who slept in the chair beside him before the murder. Conan reveals that Noda had murdered Ebihara beforehand and explains Ebihara was the man in the chair when Kogoro entered the shop. Noda, disguised as Ebihara, was the one who invited Kogoro to the barber shop and covered his face with a towel. Noda then switched places with Ebihara and used aimed a dart to knock down some pottery to create catch Kogoro's attention. As evidence, Conan reveals that Noda should have the same shirt as Ebihara. Noda confesses and reveals that Ebihara sold him to loan sharks. Conan(Shinichi) imagines Ran tying his tie just like a married couple would.

The Detective Boys are on a camping trip but Professor Agasa forgot the tent. They then wander to a castle owned by a mistress and learn that there's a secret treasure in the castle. Conan finds a clue to the treasure and enters a secret passage but is attacked by an unknown assailant. Agasa and Ai release that something has happened to Conan. Agasa is about to phone the police to investigate but upon seeing a secret agent, is knocked out by the same culprit. Agasa invents the Wristwatch Flashlight. Ayumi admits to Ai that she feels very affectionate to Conan, saving some bread for him because she thinks that if he is lost, he is also very hungry.

When nighttime comes, Ai investigates freely and is accompanied by the Detective Boys. They enter the same secret passage as Conan did and wander out of another secret entrance. Genta remains trapped and captured by the culprit. Mitsuhiko ends up missing too. Ai and Ayumi investigate the abandoned tower of the castle and find the culprit using a secret entrance connected to the castle. They find a corpse and release who the culprit is pretending to be the mistress. After re-uniting with the everyone, Conan reveals the location of the treasure. The treasure was the castle, and a beautiful scene. The culprit breaks down realizing that they wasted 10 years and killed a huge number of people just for this. The culprit is captured.

Shigeko Ishikawa is being stalked by an unknown man. While Kogoro investigates, Conan is forced to watch over her two year old son nicknamed Santa. Ishikawa is later kidnapped by the unknown man and Conan investigates Santa's home in order to search for clues. Conan finds a feather of a White-eye and learns that Santa has been giving away figurines to people in the neighborhood. Conan realizes what the culprit's motive is after learning about the endangered counterpart of the White-eye, the Black-eye. Santa takes Conan to the home of the man where a White-eye figurine was placed. Conan reads a note and realizes the culprit is at an abandoned pet store. At the store, Conan confronts the culprit and reveals that the culprit was intending to sell the endangered Black-eye to the underground economy and kidnapped Santa's mother when he perceived the White-eye figurine to be a threat. Conan clears the misunderstanding and explains Santa was gave him the figurine in return for the candy. The culprit realizes he did a horrible thing, releases Santa's mother and prepares to turn himself in. The dealer whom the culprit has organized a meeting with attempts to steal the bird but is apprehended by Conan. Later that day, it is revealed that Santa's real name is Haruka Ishikawa and that she is a girl.

Kogoro takes Ran and Conan to an onsen by the ocean. When they hear the sound of a boulder falling, they find a man named Hideaki Umezu, a mortgage company president, dead. The police presume that a boulder rolled off the hill and killed Umezu. However, Conan reveals that there are scratch marks around the spot where the bolder laid revealing that someone wedged the boulder out of its placement and that it was a premeditated murder. The suspects are Umezu's secretary, his two daughters, and the onsen manager. After further investigation, Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and reveals the murderer to be onsen manager, Koichi Maekawa. Conan reveals that Umezu was actually drowned and was dead before the boulder rolled down the hill, evidenced by the dirt under Umezu's fingernails, a sign that he was struggling. Conan then explains the boulder was used to create an alibi for Maekawa. Conan points out that the boulder was held in place by a wooden block which was connected to a line with a buoy at the end. When the tide lowered, the buoy pulled the wooden block and caused the boulder to roll off. Maekawa confesses and reveals that the president was pressuring him to sell the land to the onsen and that Umezu also pressured Maekawa's father which indirectly resulted in his death.

At the movie theatre, the Detective Boys run into Shiratori, who is depressed because of Sato's affection being directed at Takagi. Shiratori reveals that he is in love with Sato because of an encounter he had with her in the past. Shiratori explains that Sato, as a young girl, stood up to two thieves by herself; Shiratori helped her stop the thieves and in return, received from her a drink with paper folded sakura, setting up an encounter that changed his whole life. Ai questions whether that girl was actually Sato, as their personalities differ greatly. During the movie, Shiratori runs into a woman named Nami Kasakura who offers him a drink with paper folded sakuras, causing him to consider the possibility she was the girl in the past and not Sato. After the movie, Kasakura tells Shiratori she is being stalked and asks him to investigate. At her apartment, Kasakura's boyfriend Yoshiro Soumei is found dead. Conan suspects Kasakura but her alibi supposedly states she was at the theatre the whole time and her eyewitnesses are him, Ai, Shiratori and the children. In the mean time, Shiratori is very disturbed by some things he finds in his surroundings...
569	620	Inspector Shiratori, Memories of the Cherry Blossom (Part 2)	March 20, 2010			V66 - F2~4 (687-689)	Hat
Shiratori has Takagi search for the drinks at the theatre and to bring them to the apartment. Shiratori reveals his deductions and explains that Kasakura drugged him with sleeping pills and placed her tuque hat on him to create her alibi by having Shiratori impersonate her with her hat and using the darkened movie room to her advantage. Takagi arrives at the department and shows them Shiratori's drink. Shiratori reveals that he had broken a piece from the flower design in his original drink before passing out, yet all the pieces remained on his "drink" revealing that Kasakura switched the cups while he was asleep to hide the fact there were sleeping pills in them. As further evidence, Shiratori explains that there was a white string on his head from the tuque, meaning his hair should also be found on Kasakura's tuque. Kasakura confesses and angrily reveals that her boyfriend had been cheating on her for the past two years and she killed him in vengeance for wasting her time as well as pawning very important mementos of her. Shiratori is saddened that the girl of his past has become a criminal, but is cheered by Ayumi who offers him paper folded sakuras and repeats the same thing the girl in Shiratori's past says. Ayumi explains she learned that from her teacher Sumiko Kobayashi, causing Shiratori to realize Sumiko was the girl from his past, and this is confirmed when he sees Sumiko with his own eyes and recognizes her. Shiratori's reasons to like Sato are explained, and linked to the girl who changed his life. Throughout the case, he wonders if she's actually Nami Kasakura, but it turns out she was the murderer of the case instead. Few afterwards, however, he finds out that she was actually Sumiko.

Conan, Kogoro, and Ran pass by a woman named Kyouko Takahata who passes out upon receiving a phone call that her brother-in-law, Itsurou Soejima, was found dead in her home. They head to her house along with the police to discover that the drunken Soejima died when he fired a shotgun at the ceiling, causing a chandelier to fall on top of him. The police conclude that it was a suicide, but Conan believes it was a carefully planned murder. Conan investigates and discovers that in half a year, there were nine incidents where Soejima almost died due to his alcoholism and that Takahata was involved in all nine incidents. After gathering the evidence, Conan gathers the Kogoro, the police, and Takahata and tranquilizes Kogoro to reveal his deductions. Conan reveals that Takahata called Soejima to her home and had prepared the alcohol and shotgun to tempt Soejima, who is a recovering alcoholic. As evidence, Conan reveals that a piece of her nail was found in Soejima's house and that she was searching for his cell phone which evidenced that she called him to her place. Takahata confesses and reveals that Soejima caused his sister's death. Conan reveals that a message from her sister's phone reveals she died off an illness and that she loved Soejima very much.

Agasa, Haibara, Conan, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta go camping. While they're camping they find a lantern in a pond with some writing inside. They show the stone lantern to Conan who determines that it is a code to finding a large diamond. The lantern is also hiding another secret...a dead body at the bottom of the pond. After searching the body they find out that he was a treasure hunter who was straggled to death by another person looking for the treasure. They also find a tear-shaped stone with the kanji "inflammation" written on it and a notebook. The notebook suggests that he was murdered by his partner and that Kaitou Kid is also seeking the treasure. Professor Agasa goes back to camp to call the police. Conan, Haibara, and Agasa deduce the Black Organization's boss' phone number and discuss whether to call it or involve the police. They decide to do neither. Kaitou Kid is suspected to be there.

Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys decide to enter the house which belonged to Kichiemon a puppet maker and architect of the riddle. The house is filled with all kinds of booby-traps which Genta almost falls victim too until another treasure hunter saves him from a pit of spikes. As they continue to search the house they meet another treasure hunter, and end up falling down a trap door into the basement. Luckily they are saved by Conan's supersized soccerball. In the basement they find Kichiemon's grave, a bunch of human remains, and an old lady. The first treasure hunter reveals grudgingly that he found the mirror artifact and Conan reveals the tear-shaped stone. They continue looking for the sword, which is the last piece of the puzzle. Kid is mentioned again.
396 R16	430	Big Adventure in the Eccentric Mansion (The Resolution) (Remastered) [1]	April 17, 2010			V46 - F7~10 (475-478)	Sword
The old lady nearly gets chopped up by four swinging blades when she steps on a trap. Conan realizes that if one stands in the right spot the blades will not harm you and that one of the blades actually has a handle allowing him to swing over towards the sword. The sword contains the last clue, which leads everyone back to the pond. Mitsuhiko accidentally discovers that the diamond is at the bottom of the pond. The first treasure hunter dives in after it while the second pulls a gun planning to kill everyone and take the diamond for herself. Conan is able to tranquilizer her, but when the treasure hunter comes back up with the diamond the spring starts to pour into the pond causing a massive flood. The only way to stop the flood is to put the diamond back. The old lady turns out to be Kaitou Kid who knew all along that the diamond was unable to be stolen, and Conan allows him to escape on his hang-glider. Kaitou Kid appears and the Detective Boys see him.

The mysterious thief Kaitou Kid has reappeared after an eight year hiatus stealing jewels. Meanwhile, high school student Kaito Kuroba discovers a secret room in his house behind a portrait of his father along with Kaitou Kid's outfit. What does this mean? Kaito Kuroba/Kaitou Kid, Aoko Nakamori, Ginzo Nakamori, Toichi Kuroba, Chikage Kuroba, and Konosuke Jii are introduced. Kaito takes over from Jii what Toichi started and becomes the next Kaitou Kid. At this point of time, Kaito targets expensive objects as Kid to attract the attention of whoever might know something about (or had something to do with) what happened to Toichi. Aoko blushes when she thinks Kaito is leaning very close towards her. Kaito and Aoko share good chemistry while walking home from school during the sunset. Heist: The Moonlight Eye We see young Kaito and Aoko watching Toichi Kuroba's magic show. Kaito remembers something from this time that his father told him about using a Poker Face which aids him in his confrontation with Jii.
571	622	Battle of the Haunted Warehouse's Treasure (Part 1)	May 1, 2010			V66 - F5~7 (690-692)	Stairs
The Detective Boys hear a rumor from a classmate where a warehouse one second, was filled with treasure and how they all disappeared the next. Before heading to the warehouse to investigate, the Detective Boys drop by Conan's house where they run into an unknown person unbeknownst to Conan. During the warehouse investigation, Conan notices that there were recently made footprints from an adult even though the warehouse has been locked up for years and that the footprints lead up to an abacus with an odd number of beads. Conan decides to look through the warehouse by climbing a tree and looking through a window and sees the treasure their classmate was talking about. When they enter the warehouse through the front door, the Detective Boys discover the warehouse is in the same state as when they entered it. While Conan deduces that there might be a mechanism in the roof or in the floor, the Detective Boys prove him wrong declaring that the distance between the window and the roof is two meters from the outside and inside and that the markers they placed on the floors did not change. The marker leaning against the wall, however, has disappeared, causing Conan to wonder what the mechanism in the warehouse is. Shiratori visits Sumiko at her work place, with clear romantic intentions. The Detective Boys are happy and try to help, and Ai analyzes their relationship favorably. He refuses to let the children help him, however, because he doesn't want to tell Sumiko about their shared past before it's time.
572	623	Battle of the Haunted Warehouse's Treasure (Part 2)	May 8, 2010			V66 - F5~7 (690-692)	Ceiling
Conan investigates and realizes the abacus is a mechanism that reveals the secret room and that the warehouse was made by Samizu Kichiemon (三水 吉右衛門?). The Detective Boys also receive a text message and realize the trick to the warehouse. The Detective Boys and Conan have the owner of the warehouse call the police before revealing their deductions. When the police arrive, the Detective Boys explain that the warehouse has a low ceiling which was concealed by the interior design of the warehouse. A fake window was installed inside the warehouse to mimic the distance between the window and the ceiling outside the warehouse. Conan then explains the abacus reveals the secret room in the attic when it is arranged so it spells the Kanji Samizu. The ceiling lowers revealing a room full of stolen goods and the robber who is arrested by the police. Conan reveals to the Detective Boys that he discovered Heiji has been giving them advice during the investigation and forces Heiji to come out of hiding.
573	624	The Whereabouts of the Embarrassing Charm (Part 1)	May 15, 2010			V66 - F8~10 (693-695)	Cracker
After returning to Detective Mouri's agency, Heiji asks them to help find Teruaki Kunisue, a sophomore at Teitan University, who Heiji accidentally gave Kazuha's lucky charm to. They all head to Teitan University the next day only to find out that he has not been attending classes due to a broken wrist. Ran learns from Kazuha that she left a photo of Heiji in it and does not want him to find out about the charm's contents. Later, Ran, Conan, Heiji, and Kazuha, go to a sports parlor where Teruaki is suppose to be only to discover from the police that Teruaki has been assaulted by an unknown assailant. They are able to narrow down the suspects to three people since they were not in the bar during the time of the attack. Ran wonders why Shinichi's fingerprints are on Heiji's charm when she remembers than only Conan had touched the handcuff link in the past. Kazuha says her charm contains a picture of Heiji along with the handcuff link.
574	625	The Whereabouts of the Embarrassing Charm (Part 2)	May 22, 2010			V66 - F8~10 (693-695)	Pocket
Conan and Heiji interrogate the three suspects to learn that each of them attended a sumo match, a volleyball game, and a soccer game. Conan and Heiji deduce that Teruaki attended a baseball game and that one of the suspects must be lying. Conan and Heiji realize that the soccer game fan, Takuya Kyuma, had been using baseball terms to describe a soccer game meaning he attended a baseball game. They reveal that Kyuma attacked Teruaki for a baseball he got from a home run and reveal that the baseball is in his popcorn bag. Kyuma confesses and reveals his dead girlfriend's wish was to get a baseball from a home run. At the hospital, Teruaki decides to leave Kyuma have the baseball and drop the charges after hearing his story. Teruaki apologizes to Kazuha and tells her Heiji has her charm. Heiji finds the picture has been doodled on and becomes irritated with Kazuha.
575	626	The Alibi of the Black Dress (Part 1)	May 29, 2010			V66 - F11 ~ V67 - F2 (696-698)	Cup
Conan, Kogoro, Ran, and Sonoko are at a tea house when a woman wearing gothic lolita fashion clothing enters the tea house, orders a glass of water, and leaves. Ten minutes later, a woman named Yuika Shoudou, arrives to the tea house where they learn that she was suppose to meet with the woman from before. The four then leave to go shopping. On the way, a pair of thieves tries to steal their shopping bags by spilling ice cream on Ran and Sonoko but are foiled by Conan. The girls are forced to change in a public restroom where they find the gothic girl from before dead. The cellphone of the gothic girl, revealed to be Mihiro Kuze, has been ringing every ten minutes for the past two hours and on the phone is Shoudou. The police confirm with the waitress at the tea house that Kuze and Shoudou arrived ten minutes apart and with the public restroom thirty minutes away, it removes Shoudou as a suspect. Conan however reveals that the gothic girl that entered the restaurant may not have been Kuze since the gothic lolita fashion distracts them from her face.
576	627	The Alibi of the Black Dress (Part 2)	June 5, 2010			V66 - F11 ~ V67 - F2 (696-698)	Twins
The police investigate the glass the gothic girl was drinking which holds Kuze's fingerprints. At the ghotic lolita shop where Kuze bought her clothes. The employee there revealed that the gothic clothes Conan investigates and realizes the trick to Shoudou's alibi. Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and reveals that the gothic girl that entered the tea house was Shoudou and that the glass was pre-prepared with Kuze's fingerprints. As evidence, Conan reveals that the wound on Shoudou's reveals that she had been scratched recently, most likely by Kuze while strangling her, and that her blood must be in the public restroom somewhere. Soon after, Takagi calls confirming that a luminol reaction reveals blood in one of the stalls and that a test will prove whose blood it is. Shoudou confesses and reveals that Kuze caused her to lose her boyfriend, housing, job, and friends as Kuze wanted to Shoudou to be friends with only her. Ran asks for Conan's opinion on her new dress and he thinks she doesn't look weird, but looks very cute.

Ran and Shinichi's old homeroom teacher, Sayuri Matsumoto, is getting married, but before the wedding even starts, the bride is poisoned when she drinks her canned juice. Several suspects are caught on video including Sayuri's father, Kiyonaga Matsumoto and Toshihiko Takasugi, the groom. The fingerprint analysis show that some prints are missing from the can. Conan, using Sonoko Suzuki, reveals the culprit to be Toshihiko. Toshihiko reveals that Kiyonaga was the indirect cause of his mother's death. Sayuri's friend proclaims to Toshihiko, Sayuri knew about his past with her father but she married him anyways because he was her childhood love. Toshihiko becomes enveloped in guilt but a message from the hospital reveals Sayuri's surgery to be a success, leaving Toshihiko to cry with happiness. Toshihiko is sent to prison for three years after which he marries Sayuri. First appearance of Kiyonaga Matsumoto.

The Detective Boys attend a firefly festival to commemorate a shinto shrine in a village. The truck soon arrives with the fireflies and they are released into the fields. Later one of the truck drivers, Tokurou Nakamine, is found murdered and three of the villagers are the prime suspects. Conan notices a flashlight Genta found inside the truck and realizes who the murderer is. Using Agasa, Conan reveals the second truck driver, Shuchirou Tarumi, to be the murderer. Conan reveals that Tarumi murdered Nakamine in a desolated location near the village before turning the truck around and meeting with the other villagers. As evidence, Conan reveals the flashlight Genta found was actually a dictation machine with Nakamine's voice recorded on it. Tarumi takes Haibara hostage and attempts to flee but is eventually apprehended. Conan reveals that Tarumi's motive was fear of being exposed by Nakamine for embezzling money from the firefly project and stealing money from Nakamine's company.

The Detective Boys run into a strange man named Kyouzou Daita who invites them to a cake shop after stopping a thief for him. While talking with him, Conan notices the man is acting strangely. That night, the Detective Boys confront him and reveal they deduced he planned to make his suicide look like an accident in order to get money from the insurance to pay for his granddaughter’s surgery; Evidenced from the inconsistency conversation they had before. Daita confesses and reveals that after losing a winning lottery ticket, he contemplated suicide. Conan reveals that he must have kept the lottery ticket in the case containing his reading glasses after reading the winning numbers from the newspaper. Daita, happy to have the money for the surgery, jokingly tells the Detective Boys he also thought of robbing a bank causing the Detective Boys to reply they saw a man suiting Shuichi Akai's description. The next day, Kogoro receives an anonymous request to investigate a case involving red shirts with long sleeves. The mysterious caller requests to meet them on the third floor of a department store. At the store, the three then run into a man who explains he has been strapped with bombs. Conan learns of Scar Akai's existence from the Detective Boys.   Jodie looks for evidence if Akai is alive.

While Conan and Kogoro investigate, Conan realizes that the receipts always say 12:28 on it, and that there are creases on the thirteen red shirts. At the same time, the Black Organization wait outside the department store with snipers waiting for scar Akai and Gin threatens Kir he will kill her if Akai is alive. Jodie looks for evidence if Akai is alive, The Black Organization starts to wonder if Shuichi Akai is alive and Scar Akai appears in front of Andre Camel. Andre Camel encounters Scar Akai for the first time.

Conan arranges the red shirts in the order they were sent and folds them along the creases and deduces that the way the shirts are position reveal a code. Elsewhere, Jodie discovers that scar Akai is on the floor where the bomb is. Conan uses the cashier room's computer in order to search for a disaster that occurred in a snowy mountain on December 28. Okiya, who happens to be on the same floor, examines the red shirt and concludes the sender is related to a disaster that occurred on a snowy mountain and begins texting his deduction to Kogoro. Okiya then recognizes scar Akai and the crowd and hides while smiling suspiciously. Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and discloses that the bomber's behavior is inconsistent; He was desperate to search for the sender of the red shirts, yet he found the time to knock and strap a bomb onto the man. Conan reveals that the man strapped with the bomb is actually the bomber. Scar Akai is seen by Okiya. Jodie discovers that Scar Akai is on the floor where the bomb is.

Conan reveals that the sender of the red shirt was the cashier of the sports department, Mai Seta. He explains it would be impossible to always have a shirt bought on 12:28. Seta reveals that the bomber murdered her father thirteen years ago in order to hide the fact he was embezzling money from her father's company. Conan reveals that the shirts creases are flag signals conveying the message "I saw you burying it". The bomber denies the murder until Conan discloses that the body must be near the cabin since the bomber was a novice at mountaineering. The bomber confesses and explains he wanted the best for his spoiled son who occasionally runs away from home. Seta asks Conan how he knew it was related to the mountains, which Kogoro answers by reading the deductions he received from a cellphone text message. Conan and Ran trace the call to a man who reveals a man resembling Akai was the one who gave him the phone. Conan attempts to catch up to scar Akai and runs into Jodie and Andre. Andre reveals the Black Organization are waiting outside with a sniper causing Conan and Jodie to realize their plan. Outside the store, Scar Akai looks at the Black Organization, smiling and disappears into the crowd. Gin decides to drop the assassination commenting how Bourbon always likes to do what he pleases. The Black Organization calls off the assassination, and Scar Akai vanishes. Conan chases after Scar Akai and runs into Jodie and Andre. Andre reveals the Black Organization are waiting outside. Jodie meets Okiya for the first time.

When they arrive, they discover that Fujimori has stabbed a man in a zombie mask. They presume that the zombie is Fujimori's stalker, but discover that it is Jiro Imaoka, Fujimori's partner in her comedic career. While investigating, Kogoro deduces that Imaoka wanted to scare Fujimori to worsen her heart condition and force her to retire as his comedic partner and concludes the murder to be self defense. Conan's investigation leads him to believe Fujimori made up the stalker in order to murder Imaoka. He tranquilizes Kogoro and reveals that Fujimori and Imaoka met at a nearby park, evidenced by the cockleburs found on them. Fujimori then pretended to lose her key and faked a heart attack forcing Imaoka to enter through the apartment's balcony to retrieve her heart medication. Fujimori, enters her apartment before Imaoka does and murders him. Fujimori confesses and reveals that she murdered Imaoka after hearing him plan to end Fujimori's career and start a new life. Soon after, a package arrives from Imaoka, revealing he wanted to end their career in order to settle down in marriage.

When the Detective Boys and Kobayashi-sensei go to see the fireworks, Sumiko gets left behind and overhears a quarrel and sees the figure of the culprit run away in the shadows and sees the stabbed victim. Conan hurries to the location where he heard sensei scream. Then they are questioned as witnesses by the police. After going to the restroom, Sumiko overhears the male policemen saying Shiratori was part of the "Satou Miwako Ultimate Defense Line" head and that Sumiko is a replacement for Satou. The other police believe that Shiratori is courting Sumiko solely for her similarities to Sato. This strains their budding romance, as Sumiko listens to this and tries to cut Shiratori off.

Shiratori has Sumiko listen to the three culprit's voices and has determined none of them was the voice that shouted out, and when she's done she storms out of the police station. Haibara explains Sumiko must have seen Sato and heard the rumors that Shiratori is only settling for Sumiko in place of Sato. Shiratori attempts to rectify the misunderstanding and confronts Sumiko revealing they met many years ago in a bookstore when confronting a pair of thieves. Sumiko is unable to remember the event and replies it must have been Sato. Later that night at the school, Sumiko receives a phone call asking to meet her at the music room when a presence behind her shocks her... Shiratori tries to mend the disagreement and explains the role that Sumiko played in his life, confessing to her. She doesn't remember, however, and sadly thinks Sato was the girl instead of her.

Sumiko enters the music room where the culprit proceeds to attack her. However, Sumiko manages to incapacitate the culprit with a suplex and she is revealed to be Sato in disguise. The actual Sumiko, the Detective Boys and Shiratori appear, revealing Sato replaced Sumiko in the hallway and naming the culprit to be Ryusuke Kodama. The Detective Boys reveal that Sumiko's testimony was correct, and that she mistaken Kodama to be a woman in the alley due to his long hair and the position of his arm making him seem as if he had breasts. Conan explains the woman's voice that was heard belonged to the victim, and that 09 was actually OS and stood for the first two letters of Osaka Nico Nico transportation; Shiratori reveals that they questioned the truck driver who saw the victim and Kodama entering the alley. Kodama confesses and explains that Sumida planned to kill Kodama to receive money from his life insurance to settle his debt and murdered her in self defense. Shiratori counters this, and the wording he uses unlocks Sumiko's memories from their shared past, leading to a love confession and their romantic relationship. The next day Jirokichi Suzuki enlists the Detective Boys to defend the amber Kirin's horn from the Phantom Thief Kid. Kirin's horn is secured in the center pillar of a secluded shrine. The pillar will only open when four electrically protected pedestals in the corner of the rooms are opened simultaneously with their respective keys. Shiratori is a part of the group that protects Sumiko and catches the culprit hell-bent on silencing her. He confesses to her again, and since Sumiko finally can remember him, she accepts his feelings. From then on, they start a relationship.   The second part of this episode contains the Kirin Horn heist.

Jirokichi stakes the key into the wall and awaits for Kid's arrival. Kid causes a blackout and the timed explosives destroys the windows causing strong winds to rush inside the shrine. While the Detective Boys protect the pedestals, the center pillar is heard opening. When electricity is restored, they discover Kirin's horn is missing, Conan is knocked out by a taser, and cards signed by Kid attached to all four pedestals. Jirokichi reveals that the shrine had been secretly enforced with steel and an alarm would sound if Kid had escaped through the door and proclaims Kid must be in disguise and inside the shrine; The suspects are Jirokichi, Ginzo Nakamori, or one of the three reporters. Haibara deduces from the inscribed message on the pillar that there is another method to open the pillars without the use of the keys. From the colors and Kanji on the pedestals, Haibara discerns they represent the Four Symbols: the Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, Black Tortoise, and Azure Dragon. She imparts that if something is done in the right order to the four pedestals, it would open the center pillar.   Kaito sets up an impossible case.

Ai figures there is a way to open up the pillar without using the four keys. Conan comes to consciousness just as Ai was stuck on her thought and tells her the way to open the pillar and the true reason why Kid knocked him unconscious with a taser. With the help of the Detective Boys, Ai reveals who's Kid in disguise and the hidden secret to opening up the pillar, which is pushing the four pedestals back in order according to the four seasons that each of the four divine beasts represent, while Conan explains how Kid the Detective Boys actually helped Kid without knowing it. As Kid makes his escape, Conan hits him with a soccer ball and a note identifying him as the Phantom Thief Kid.   Conan gets the upper hand on Kid.

Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are invited to assist in a rooftop farm. Once there, they discover the elderly farmer, Takehiko Nakamura, dead from a head injury. The police are brought in and the other three farmers are interrogated for the death. Conan's discovers a shattered brick with a hole and discerning how Nakamura was murdered, tranquilizes Kogoro and reveals the farmer Marie Inoue to be the murderer. Conan reveals that she hung a brick on the handrail and concealed it with a towel and lured Nakamura to it with a phone call. When he was close enough, she pulled a rope connected to the brick hitting him on the forehead causing him to lose his balance and having him fall into the corner of the water tank. As evidence, Conan explains the towel's paint mark is from the handrail and that the rope must be in Inoue's home. Inoue confesses and reveals that Nakamura killed her crop which were grown from her father's final harvest.

Ran discovers a receipt for a necklace in Kogoro's wallet and discerns that he is going to give it to Eri as a birthday present. Ran decides to enter a raffle draw to win a luxury hotel trip for her parents and succeeds in winning the tickets. Eri reschedules to meet her client at the hotel upon hearing about the supposed necklace. Her client, Akiho Koukuba, enters Eri's room after getting into a fight with her husband, Takehiko Koukuba, and falls asleep. Eri arranges for Takehiko to retrieve his wife and leaves to eat dinner with her family. She returns to her room, disappointed by Kogoro's behavior and the lack of a present and opens a carbonated drink but is soaked by the can; After showering to wash off the drink, she returns and finds Akiho dead in her room. Conan notices the blood stains suggest the bed was moved, and hypothesis the culprit murdered Akiho, concealed her body under the bed and hid himself, then when Eri went to shower, returns the bed back to its original position and leaves the room. The police investigate the alibis of the three suspects, Akiho's stalker and his mother, and her husband.

That night, Conan realizes how the murder was done and who the culprit is. The next day, he drops a hint for Kogoro by spilling ketchup on a food cart which creates an evenly spaced ketchup stain on the floor, miming the victim's blood stain. Kogoro has the police gather the suspects and declares Takehiko to be the culprit. He reveals that Takehiko placed his toy cars under the bed legs allowing the bed to easily slide. They evidence it with Takehiko's statement, when he said that James Dean's car was a Porsche 911, but in reality it was a Porsche 550; revealing he used the 550 in the crime. Takehiko asks how would he know Eri was going to take a shower. Eri reveals that Takehiko filled her fridge with only carbonated drinks, knowing that alcohol would make her thirsty. As evidence, the murder weapon, the ashtray in Takehiko's room, should contain Akiho's blood. Takehiko confesses and reveals that Akiho threatened to kill him to inherit his money. Later, Kogoro gives Eri her present, announcing it is her birthday. However, Eri reveals that her birthday was yesterday, and that Kogoro assumed Health and Sports Day was the same day as her birthday. Conan explains that Health and Sports Day used to be on every October 10th, but was changed to the second Monday of October at some point. Kogoro is disappointed his plan of lowering Eri's expectation and surprising her with her present has failed, but Eri happily accepts her gift and kisses him. The next day, Eri angrily phones asking why she received prayer beads and if Kogoro wanted her dead. Kogoro then notices that the real present was in his desk. Kisaki kisses Kogoro!

The Detective Boys talk about the Sunday Cup, a soccer tournament. They mention Uemura Naoki and Akagi Hideo of the Tokyo Spirits. Afterwards, Conan returns to the Mouri Detective agency to find a girl named Akagi Ryoko waiting in front. She asks Mouri to find Kudo Shinichi, saying that she was his girlfriend. Ran gets jealous and angry and decided to go to her house, but Conan notices some strange things and realizes that there was a kidnapping of Mamoru Akagi, Hideo Akagi's little brother. The kidnapper is later revealed to be Uemura Naoki, a fellow soccer player of Hide's. He kidnapped Mamoru because he believed that Hide injured his leg on purpose to stop him from surpassing him. After the solution, Ran calls Shinichi's cell phone, which he gave to Ryoko before, and chases Conan to an alley where she confronts him about Ryoko. At that moment Agasa drives up in his yellow beetle. Conan replies with word that somewhat suggest feelings for her and he hides in Agasa's car, escaping Ran sucessfully. First appearance of Hideo Akagi and Naoki Uemura. Agasa invents the Portable Bento Box Fax.

Agasa takes the Detective Boys to the house of a famous aquarium designer, Nishida. Kousuke Imura lets them into Nishida's home when Nishida does not answer the door. The Detective Boys find Nishida drowned in his bathtub. The police determine that Nishida died the night two days prior and from falling asleep in his bathtub due to alcohol consumption. Conan's disproves the theory explaining that the bathroom light was not on when they found him. The police investigate Imura's alibi which confirmed he was in Guam for the past two days at a shooting range. Conan investigates and realizing how the murder is done, impersonates Agasa's voice and declares Imura the murderer. He explains that Imura used the cooler from the shrimp's tank to fake the time of death, evidenced by the wet glue that has yet to dry on Nishida's fingertip and the dead shrimps in the same aquarium. As evidence Nishida's contact lens is found in the dead shrimp aquarium and a nitrous acid reaction reveals gunpowder was found on Imura's shirt and the cooler. Imura confesses and reveals he had been designing Nishida's aquarium for the past five years and that he murdered Nishida when he learned that he was going to be replaced

Kogoro and Conan are taken by Ran and Sonoko to a Rooster Festival. Ran and Sonoko sneak off to have their love fortunes predicted. Sonoko reads Ran's fortune which strongly suggests her to be feminine and avoid mannish conducts. Sonoko is then robbed by a man wearing a hyottoko mask who flees with her purse towards Ran. Ran, hesitant by her love fortune, does not incapacitate him with karate and allows him to escape. Kogoro explains the man has been dubbed as the Rooster Man and is a serial robber at Rooster Festivals. Ran and Sonoko takes Conan with them to visit the festival again to have their love fortunes retold. A woman's scream is heard and they discover that the Rooster Man was spotted and stabbed a man before escaping. Before losing consciousness, the stabbed man, Shiro Masuko, tells Conan its not rooster but saru (猿?, lit. monkey) and shows him nine fingers. Conan investigates the backpack left behind by the Rooster Man and discovers all the possessions stolen by him. The police arrive and are able to narrow down the Rooster Man to three suspects after witnessing him run into the bathroom. Ran finds a button belonging to the Rooster Man from her previous encounter and has the police investigate which suspect is the owner of the button. Ran wants to know the type of girl Shinichi likes. Ran remembers the conversation she had with Shinichi last time they met and wants to tell him how she feels at the same time she casually admits to Sonoko that she's in love with Shinichi.

It was discovered the button did not belong to any of the suspects. As Conan investigates, he is able to deduce Masuko's message when he realizes it is related to the Chinese zodiac and reveals to Kogoro that the culprit is Shinji Mizunoe. Conan explains that the ninth sign of the Chinese zodiac refers to monkey and is written as shin (申?, lit. monkey) in Han. Nine also dictates the Sexagenary cycle where the ninth celestial stem Rén (壬?) can be read in as Mizunoe in Kunyomi. As for Mizunoe's alibi, Conan explains Masuko was the original Rooster Man and Mizunoe only impersonated him in an attempt to murder him. Conan suggests to Kogoro to have the police investigate to see if the button belongs to Masuko. They discover Ran has the button and realize Mizunoe may attack her for it. Ran is tasered by Mizunoe and has her wallet taken from her. Before killing her, Mizunoe finds Ran's love fortune and reads its content which suggests Ran to be herself in order to capture the heart of her brilliant-minded man,Shinichi. Ran realizes Sonoko read her own love fortune in place of her's; With her hesitation gone for mannish conduct, Ran easily incapacitates Mizunoe. Conan blushes when Sonoko reads Ran's love fortune which suggests Ran to- be herself in order to capture the heart of her brilliant-minded man,Shinichi and even if you try to act or pretend to be cute beware he'll immediately see through it but if you keep holding on to what you believe,your feelings will certainly reach him.

Conan, Ran, and Kogoro arrive in Hiroshima to meet a film crew whom plan to film them touring Miyajima, Hiroshima. The assistant producer, Yuichi Kitamura, gets a severe stomach pain that causes him to be bedridden. They take a ferry to Miyajima and begin filming. In front of Itsukushima Shrine, a crew member finds out salt was added to his drink; the film crew then notice a familiar man in a crowd and assume him to be at fault. One of the crew tells Conan that man may be probing the crew since it is suspected one of them is running an illegal casino. The film crew arrives at a red-leaf bun pastry shop owned by Yayoi Ayase which has a specialty of red-leaf bun called Misen's Seven Wonders, based on the seven wonders of Mount Misen: The eternal flame of Daishō-in, The plum tree grown from Kūkai's khakkhara, a boulder that ebb and flows the salt water of Hiroshima Bay, a boulder inscribed with Kūkai's writing, the sound of a goblin's clapping, a special cherry blossom that undergoes deciduous all season long, and and lights dubbed as dragon fire over Hiroshima Bay. Conan notices a photograph depicting the crew members in the past and is told the crew were in Miyajima two years ago for filming; He then notices the man spotted at the shrine in another picture who is revealed to be Shinroku Ayasa, Yayoi's brother. Yayoi explains her parents fell to their death on Misen two years prior and Shinroku investigated the cause. Two weeks ago, he disappears for unknown reasons. As the filming continues, a crew member finds his ring tone has been changed to clappers and another has been thrown an etched rock. Conan relates these to the seven wonders and explains the salted drink is related to the ebb and flow boulder, and Kitamura's cherry blossom tie is related to Misen's cherry blossom tree. A crew is is found bludgeoned with a khakkhara and Yayoi's bakery is set ablaze; the witnesses claims it is the work of Shinroku. First appearance of Koji Yatsukawa and Mikihiko Kamisuwa.

Realizing only the wonder left is the dragon fire, the film crew decide to let Kogoro investigate in order to stop Shinroku before he attacks them again. As they learn more about Shinroku, the director is stabbed with a dragon designed dagger and hospitalized as a result. That night at the hotel, the culprit attempts to sneak into a room and attack someone but is ambushed by the crew and police. They reveal they moved that person away and declare the culprit to be Yuichi Kitamura. Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and reveals Kitamura was the cause of Yayoi's parent's deaths as he had been hiking in a dangerous area and a button of his was found by Shinroku. Shinroku realized who the button belonged to two weeks prior when he saw a picture of the old crew and investigated Kitamura in Tokyo. When Shinroku met with Kitamura in Hiroshima, Kitamura drugged him with sleeping pills and disguised him as himself to establish an alibi. Kitamura then disguised himself as Shinroku and followed the film crew to Miyajima. Shinroku, the man whom was moved, appears and confirms Conan's deduction. Conan continues and explains Kitamura was also the one leading the illegal casino. Kitamura confesses to all three crimes and laments he lost control of the three situations and his solutions to them were immoral.

Kogoro is called to meet with Toshio Higashiyama at his company building and takes Ran and Conan with him. Upon entering the building, they are asked to call his sectional number, 423. After getting in contact with him on the phone, they witness the employee Fujihiko Takahaka, fall from the building to his death. The police are called to the scene and enter Takahaka's office discovering a typed suicide note. Conan notices the window is open, a dry spot over the ledge of the window, and a piece of a theatrical property was found on the body and gives Kogoro hints allowing him to deduce Takahaka's death. He reveals the prop is the one used in fictional children's show where when shot with a laser gun, deflates. The prop was used to keep Takahaka's inert body from falling out the window, and was deflated resulting in his death and allowing the culprit to establish an alibi. Upon further investigation, Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and gathers the police to Takahaka's room revealing the culprit to be Higashiyama. Conan reveals that Higashiyama used an extension cord from his office building to forge his alibi, evidenced by the cord found in his room. To convict him, Conan reveals a broken pen was found in the room he actually was and that there is an ink stain at the back of his collar. Higashiyama confesses and reveals Takahaka hired his brother for work and left him with a large amount of due to hidden addendums in his contract.

Agasa takes the Detective Boys with him to a sauna as he fixes his product. At the sauna, the kids are introduced to four cast members filming a drama about a hitman. Since the sauna is crowded, the kids decide to bathe in the early morning. As they head to the sauna, Ai and Ayumi discover the Ganji Tetsuyuma, the scriptwriter, dead. The police arrive and conclude that Tetsuyuma slipped on a bar of soap and hit his head on the rocks. Conan reveals it was a murder and points out that water on the victim's body reveal the culprit washed something off and deduces it to be blood. The police assume the culprit waited at the verandah for the victim before committing the murder and begin searching for people entering the sauna without alibis; the suspects are the three other cast members.

As the police continue their investigation, they discover a plastic tea bottle filled with water in the dressing room, match cinders floating on the water, and Tetsuyuma's silver-gemed ring. It is also revealed that all the suspects have been seen in the hotel after the sauna was closed disproving their previous theory. Conan uses his voice changing bowtie to impersonate Agasa to reveal the one waiting on the veranda was the victim and the Tetsuyuma spotted heading to the sauna was the culprit Junsaku Tansawa in disguise. Conan explains Tansawa tricked the victim into staying in the women's sauna all night in order to see the naked Mishio Natori, the heroine; This is evidenced by the bottle in the dressing room which Tetsuyuma used to stay hydrated and the match cinders used to smoke his pipe. As evidence towards Tansawa as the culprit, Conan reveals that he was completely engrossed in pretending to be Tetsuyuma that he took the silver ring without noticing. Tansawa confesses and laments how Tetsuyuma denied him of his prided role in the drama because he was afraid of being overshadowed. Later, Conan has Agasa inspect an irritation at his behind. Ai appears and reveals she placed chili pepper in Conan's underwear in revenge for seeing her naked.

Conan and Ran are on a train and are confronted by a pickpocket but is saved by an elderly man named Tokuma Norizuki. As the train passes Sugamo Station, they notice the police investigating something under the railway. Conan and Ran discover that a man named Kanemura, a local conartist, was killed by a head injury. Norizuki claims he witnessed Kanemura's boss, Takehiko Kiriya, committed the murder. Kiriya said he was called to the crime scene by Kanemura's friend and proclaims he is not the culprit. Conan asks Takaki to investigate on Norizuki and learns that Norizuki's girl friend, Mitsu, was a victim to their conartist group which resulted in her death. Ran is able to stop Norizuki from murdering Takeshi Motegi, Mitsu's conartist and the police arrive. For the previous murder, Conan reveals that Norizuki got off the train 15 minutes late, revealed by the exiting time on his smart card. He reveals that Norizuki used a prepaid ticket to exit and enter Sugamo to murder Kanemura and phoned Kiriya to frame him. As evidence, Detective Takagi found the prepaid ticket at Beika and had it analyzed for fingerprints. Norizuki confesses and is appalled to discover Mitsu's diary and how she forgave her conartist.

Mouri receives a letter from an unknown person. Telling them to go to the Koura Inn to catch a murderer. Following the letter Mouri, Conan and Ran go to Koura Inn in the Gunma prefecture.
