Date has won against ten consecutive opponents, and will face Furuya as his eleventh. The match ends in Furuya’s defeat, much to everyone’s shock since he can just hit on the spot where Date was injured from previous matches. This reveals Date’s much darker side as he talks to Furuya on how they should actually handle criminals. That night, when Kenji’s group are going out to find things that relate to Hiromitsu’s past memory, Rei and Date decide to walk together as Date retells the event that made him have such a negative viewpoint this morning. The duo end up in a hostage situation while they are buying things from a shop, while Matsuda’s group happens to pass by that shop.
After the hostage situation is resolved, Kenji reveals to Date that he and his sister were involved in the event that changed Date’s viewpoint, and the reason Date’s father made the decision regarding the crime.
