Season 27 aired in 2022. This year, there were a total of 35 episodes: 12 for manga adaptation; 23 for anime-original. Remastered broadcast for 14 weeks. There were breaks totalling to 4 weeks.

News about a shogi player named Kimiharu Nishikido and suspected of match fixing, who was beaten to death with an upside-down shogi board missing a leg near his corpse, catches Conan's attention. While talking about the term "yaocho" (match fixing), Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys meet Shukichi Haneda by chance. Conan also asks him whether he had played shogi with Nishikido before, with the latter agreeing. Shukichi then waves them goodbye without noticing that Yumi has been spying on him, suspecting that he has been cheating on her. She also proceeds to take Conan with her so no one would suspect her, but she accidentally reveals herself and Shukichi explains that he has been having shogi game sessions with fellow players, thus resolving the misunderstanding. The group arrive at the players' apartment where shogi player Kosuke Hishinuma is waiting. However, another shogi player named Yasukiyo Genda, who should be inside the apartment, is not answering answer the bell, so they use the spare key brought by fellow player Mina Katsumata. Opening the door, they discover that Genda is dead with an upside-down shogi board with two legs removed, similarly to Nishikido's death. Shukichi later is seen thinking of something after he touches the furnitures nearby, having seemingly figured out the case. Mina Katsumata is introduced. Yumi tails Shukichi of suspecting having an affair. However, it is revealed that Shukichi is holding a Shogi practice session with younger Shogi players.   Shukichi was adopted by Haneda's family to fullfill Kohji Haneda's dream.

Takagi and Sato arrive at the crime scene and start questioning the suspects. It is revealed that Nishikido was the one to begin the game sessions. Furthermore, the group also has another member, Yuhei Kishimoto, who has not been showing up at the sessions following player Kinji Uryu's mysterious suicide. Sato and Takagi are discussing whether the suicide has something to do with the two recent murders, when they notice smoke billowing from the neighborhood in Kishimoto's area. Takagi and Sato arrive at the scene of the fire and meet Inspector Yuminaga, who explains that Kishimoto was indeed killed in this fire. Conan notices in the rubble an upturned shogi board missing three legs. The next day, Conan receives a call from Yumi stating that Shukichi has been missing since last night, so he calls Akai to help him find Shukichi.   Shuichi appears.

Shuichi Akai, disguised with sunglasses and a cap, picks up Conan with in front of Ramen Ogura. However, Shukichi has probably shut his phone down knowing that he would probably be taken hostage by the culprit. Luckily, the two brothers have ways to stay in contact so the culprit does not notice Akai is coming to save his brother. Time is ticking, and the culprit's patience is running out. Will Conan and Akai make it in time? Shukichi is unable to contact his mother Mary. Shukichi wants to introduce Yumi to his mother. Shuichi appears without his disguise to save Shukichi.

Professor Agasa is taking Conan and the Detective Boys skiing when they meet Takeru Yokoyama and Kengo Ishibashi, whose cars are stuck in the snow. Agasa’s group decides to help them out. While Agasa is resting at the resort, Conan and the Detective Boys witness Ishibashi stab Yokoyama to death. However, as no one believes them and Ishibashi and his two henchmen are on the lookout to find them, they have no choice but to run away with their sleds. After running away for a while, the Detective Boys accidentally wander to an area without phone service. Later, Agasa gets worried, as a snowstorm is building up and there are no signs of the Detective Boys coming back.

The resort staff begin looking for the kids, while Agasa leaves a text message for Conan. While hiding in a cabin, Conan luckily gets phone signal, so he explains his predicament to the professor, but the snowstorm becomes more intense, preventing further communication and damaging their hideout. They thus decide to go out and find another cabin that may have a landline to make another call. Thinking that their ordeal will soon be over, the Detective Boys walk forward, when steel sheets are thrown between them and gets them separated.

One day a man was jogging and finds a dead body. He calls the Ambulance, but worried about the mans life, decides to run to the nearest bus station. Because of his actions he is considered the main suspect. Takagi comes to the case, and with Conan's help, solves the case. He proves the man's innocence and captures the real culprit. It turns out the manager's dying message was for the culprit, saying he should always try to smile.

Conan, Sonoko, Ran, and Sera along with Amuro decide to go to a sound studio to sing songs. Upon arriving there they find no space rooms available, so they decide go down and have a rest. They overhear members of an all-female band are arguing about their performance. They're criticizing each other. Later, when everybody enters the green room, the drum player is found dead on the drum with a rope mark on her neck. What's worse, the murder happened in the camera's blind spot. How can Conan and the others solve this mystery? Scotch is introduced. Sera officially meets Amuro for the first time and is suspicious of him, thinking she has met him before. Sera recalls when Scotch taught her guitar, and Amuro briefly met them there; however, Sera and Amuro never interracted..

As the investigation countines, the bass player of the band mentions a deceased lead singer in the band. She and other members give Conan, Sera, and Amuro a video of the band. The three detectives solve the case when the police are still trying to find the culprit. The culprit used the line of the drummer's hat to strangle her and put her on the drums, and is revealed to be the keyboard player, who used a bottle full of water laced with sleeping pills on the drummer. The keyboard player is then arrested. Scotch was an undercover MPD Public Safety officer, who was allegedly killed by Akai. Conan confirms that Akai Shuichi is Sera's eldest brother. Also, Sera knows that Akai is FBI.

The story begins one month after Rei and Matsuda became good friends. In the martial arts class, Date beats Rei in the fight. This reminds him of his father who was a patrol officer, but resigned due to injury. Later that night, Matsuda, Kenji and Hiro go to the bike shop where Matsuda saw a man with a strange tattoo that reminded Hiro about his past. The conversation ends quickly as Hiro gets traumatized when he tries remembering the scene. Then Kenji remembers seeing Date’s father get beaten by someone else in the past. Meanwhile, Date and Rei go to the convenience store to buy some things. Date also reveals to Rei about his father’s past, however, they end up being kept hostage in a bank robbery that is similar to the one Date’s father experinced. Will they get out of this? First appearance of Chihaya Hagiwara Wataru Date rekindles with his father after the robbery is over. The story take place 7 years ago, when Amuro and his friends attended the police academy.

There have been two mysteries occurring lately: The flying jack-o’-lanterns video going viral on the internet; and Amuro’s absence in Poirot, which is explain that he has taken a break for a while, much to Azusa’s dismay as she wishes that she had a collar to keep him in place. But before Azusa can have Conan's answer about her suspicion toward Amuro, Tamie Kono, Tomomi Kashiyama, and Satoshi Mizunuma arrive at the café to inform the two of their missing jack-o’-lanterns. So Conan and Azusa arrive at their place to investigate the mystery revolving around.

Ayumi wakes Conan up as soon as the Detective Boys and Agasa see the strange SOS moose signal when Agasa is taking them home. The man who made the signal, tied up, is Masaru Danno. He then tells the police and others what has happened. The Police somehow receive this from an anonymous source as well and later receive a report about an armed robbery at a jewelry store. Conan seems to be suspicious of Danno, so he, along with Agasa and the Detective Boys, decides to follow the case.

While investigating a strange man named Kanieda, who seems to be hiding something when Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys meet him, they see him going with Takagi in a car. However, his the man going with Takagi is Eiichi Usui, and he admits that he’s never seen them before, and he is a main suspect in another case. The next day, they finally get to meet Kanieda in the hospital, as he was hit by a car, they also get to hear about his life. Then Conan knows what has been happening recently, right?

On the way to the karaoke after the five have been at a party mentioned previously, Hiro sees a girl whose funeral he had attended in the past, after they see the old man Kenji helped earlier. So the next day, Hiro and Date, with the latter having followed the sooner, go to the bike shop again to ask about the man with the strange tattoo, but the bike shop refuses again anyway. Tomori later appears and mentions Irie, who matches their description. While discussing, a car somehow attached behind a truck catches their attention. However, the truck driver is seen passing out while the truck keeps accelerating. The story also reveals Kenji’s past and why he and Matsuda were in the bomb disposal unit. The story takes place 7 years ago, when Amuro and his friends attended the police academy.

Conan must both monitor the police investigation and prevent Sera from stealing the APTX antidote that the boy accidentally revealed earlier. Masumi finds the APTX antidote from Conan and tells Mary, who tells her to steal it if possible. Mary cries when she realizes her husband might be gone for sure. Vermouth disguise as Tsutomu. At “La Mucho”, investigation reveals that the victim was held ransom by a kidnapper to save Anri and was not allowed to report to the police, not to mention that recently there have been many viral videos of a man harassing couples posted by unknown people. All of the recent cases seem to have involved the Red Sheep. Will Conan be able to solve these cases? A flashback of Shinichi and Ran encountering someone wearing a Red Sheep costume at a festival.

Things get even more terrifying when Ran, Conan, and Shito notice red frosting on what should be vanilla ice cream.

Following the strange red frosting on the ice cream, the mystery of the missing child is discovered as he is found dead inside the cream maker. Later, the only remaining child is also found dead by a fatal gunshot. Conan then decides to investigate the place where the murderer shot, with the supervision of the main housekeeper, because after all, she couldn't let a child be in danger in the house she worked in. From there, Conan goes to the murderer's place and ends the case peacefully.

Amuro is on a bus to Hatoyama Farm to rescue Kazami as he was captured somewhere in the farm. He also meets Kobayashi, Wakasa, and Conan’s group who come to the farm for a replacement chicken for the dead one in their school, with the latter having trouble as Mitsuhiko tries to find what was the man he recorded watching. When they are going to find Ayumi in two different groups as she got lost whilst trying to chase a chicken, Amuro, Conan, Mitsuhiko, and Kobayashi are threatened by Umisuke Hatoyama to go to the basement where they meet Kazami. Rumi accidently drop the bishop shogi piece, which is picked up by Amuro.   Details about Haneda's murder shown to be related to Rumi Amuro recalls the bishop shogi piece is Kohji Haneda's good luck charm, which was missing at the crime scene of the murder.

At that time, the victim's family receives a second extortion call for the body, but their reaction are quite strange compared to a normal blackmail.

The Detective Boys call the police while Conan tries to find the car that caused the said accident, and it seems that he accidentally discovers the truth behind it and is going to be silenced forever. The restroom where Kogoro is runs out of toilet paper, so he has to ask for someone to bring in but he is afraid because Yoko is still there and he doesn’t want to be embarrassed in front of her. Kogoro then sends a message code to Conan, hoping he will solve it like usual. However, this in return helps solve Yoko’s case while Kogoro still suffers in the restroom. Wakita is seen concerned about the missing Shogi piece. Amuro is seen concerned about Rumi.

After they disappear, only Mitsuhiko remains. After being cornered by the teacher, Mitsuhiko finds out they decided to scare him for being bossy, suggested by Genta and Ayumi. Mitsuhiko runs away angrily but runs into the actual serial killer. Conan manages to stop the serial killer and get him arrested. Later, Ayumi kisses Mitsuhiko for playing that mean joke on him. Mitsuhiko's smart for his age deduction skills are put to the test when even Conan goes missing. Ayumi kisses Mitsuhiko for hurting him with the joke.

The boys then follow a man who ran away in his truck when staring at, up to his workplace where they meet Takagi and Chiba again, as the fingerprint of that man, whose name is Ryuji Koyabu, matches with one found in Onda's glasses. They also go to interrogate the owner of the missing earring, Yurina Shirosaki. Even though they both had alibis at the time the victim died, the footage of surveillance cameras where an accident occurred, another earring similar to Shirosaki's found at the bench near the car, and the two unusual behaviors suggest that something isn't clear here.
