Dawn of the Lightning Slash (かみなり斬り誕生 Kaminari Giri Tanjō) is the 9th episode of the Yaiba: Samurai Legend anime.
Needing to develop a new sword technique that can counter Onimaru, Yaiba undergoes further grueling training with Musashi - and a scheming Kojiro.

Manga to anime changes
- Mr. Onick appearance is not adapted in the anime.
- In manga, Kaminari-giri was shown between the other two technique, while in anime it is shown last.
- The anime adds more scenes of Kojiro's attempts to steal Raijin sword.
- The anime adds some scenes showing Onimaru taking control of neighboring prefectures in Kanto region. In manga, this matter was only shown much later when Onimaru almost conquered most prefectures in Japan.
- As Mr. Onick doesnt appear in anime, Yaiba fights against Kojiro in the bamboo forest.
