Manga to anime changes
- Some original scenes are added:
- Onimaru supervising the completion of Onimaru Sky Castle, as well as the news of Onimaru taking over Gunma and Niigata.
- Kojiro using eye drops to remove his redness on his eyes. (In manga, his eyes remained red through the whole series)
- Muto warned by other student about dojo troublemaker. The anime also make him the one who report to Sayaka about it. In manga, it was reported by random character.
- Yaiba's training was during Kaguya Arc in manga. The anime decides to adapt it into the episode, with Yaiba wearing iron geta to buy groceries instead of delivering newspaper.
- The anime also adapts the scene from the beginning of chapter 169 where Musashi is watching "Duel at Ganryu Island" TV show. The anime later add new scene where Sayaka said that he can stream the show instead of taping it.
- Major changes is made to Nadeshiko, as she only appeared in one chapter in manga. In manga, before she left, Yaiba asked her to come again. The anime change it to Yaiba asking if she will train with him and her staying for dinner. Her family is also in possession of Dragon God Orb map instead of Mine family.
- Nadeshiko's flashback about her encounter with Yaiba is expanded in anime.
- After hearing that Yaiba loves strong people, Sayaka decides to train on her own. This scene is unique to the anime.
- While Kenjuro appearance during the dinner is unique to the anime, his conversation with Musashi is adapted from chapter 35.
