In fact I can't imagine anyone getting it, not by a mutual agreement between the various countries with a claim on pole anyway. Not by themselves that is, then we'd have to share it somehow.

machine Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 We're hearing a lot from the US here, and many of the US traditions are being celebrated here as well, with Halloween probably being the most popular at the moment. People have begun to celebrate Thanksgiving too. Some stores even did the Black Friday stuff. I don't like it, but ah well. As I told Kudo12XX, our crownprincess is originally from Australia, so we are probably more aware of it here. Ah that makes sense. And really? Due to how big they are other here I assumed those holidays were also a thing in other countries but it wasn't until a few years ago I learned they weren't. Halloween and Black Friday don't sound too bad though they're probably really weird and somewhat unlikable if you're not used to them. How would the Thanksgiving thing work though? haha

I don't know how the Thanksgiving would work, all I've heard is rumors that people have begun celebrating it, though none that I know personally. It's just that the US is everywhere, such as in the news, on TV, the internet, etc. so a lot of people learn about its culture and tries it out themselves. It's probably a trend to be 'American'. More and more English words are also being used in everyday talk, and while I find it somewhat annoying, I guess I'll just have to accept it. It doesn't matter what language people speak in, as long as one is able to understand it. why not canada or mongolia Canada is part of America. Anyway, the US is big and there should therefore be more and possibly better opportunities than in Denmark.

OMM: I've been procrastinating on... Uh... My life :V And this convo about war and the different countries... I've never been very patriotic. America's a great place to live and all, but when regarding world affairs, it's pretty stupid. After years and years of schooling, we still haven't learned about most of the world and other countries' contributions, nor did we learn about what we did to some countries. Almost everyday you'd see an ad on TV about donating to help wounded soldiers returning from Afghanistan. What Obama did with withdrawing those troops made a ton of people happy; a lot of Americans don't want to be involved in these things. Personally, I think we should intervene if there's some crisis, but the way they're handling the crises are terrible. I'm not the most informed person on this topic, but hey, it's not hard to find things wrong with our system.
