There is only copyright for the main site, not the wiki. If his intention was wiki only then there is no issue. If it was a portal to the entire site, then yeah, Maurice would need to be asked. By the way, the double posts came from when his three topics were merged.

Not only that you have in the anime, a series that is based off of what is arguably one of the GREATEST samurai movies of all time! Seven Samurai (Shichinin no Samurai) by Akira Kurosawa. I really don't know what to say to that... I don't... In fact, it seems that you are blissfully unaware of one of the greatest directors in history, especially of Samurai movies. I hereby order you to seek out all works by Akira Kurosawa! GO NOW! After that you need to check out Zatoichi! Not ONLY THAT! But you don't put down Bushido, Hagakure or the Book of Five Rings under Samurai books?!

Same deal really. Technically the copyrights belong to Gosho if anyone. This is a fan site, nothing original is on here except the art made by some members. Oh and perhaps CC's podcast. But I really don't think it would be in the best interests of any party involved to bring up copyrights in that situation. The majority of the original stuff is the collection of information on the wiki really. But again that falls under public domain as per the creative commons license.

Not to defend this, but I think everyone has serious misconceptions of Wiki's... You cannot have legal trouble with a wiki because it is something called "Public Domain." Basically, it is a community based thing, and the fact that it is "DCW's wiki" has nothing to do with it. You can't copyright something in public domain, which all wikis are as part of the open source project. From the MediaWiki main page "Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License" So yeah... No permissions are needed. Everything is copyright free. That is why I didn't bring up Maurice's permission in my little analysis. The issue is with the illegal distribution of the manga and anime, not with the wiki. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ Read, that is what this site's Wiki operates under. Bring that to court saying it was distributed on an android app without permission and they'll likely laugh at you.

I want to see an end like that. I love stories in which the hero makes the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good. It is quite poetic. So few stories do it though because it isn't "happy." That is why I loved the Matsuda case. Matsuda confessed his love, and died for the benefit of the city. What really annoys me is when writers TRY doing it but get yelled at for doing it (SACD and Akira Toriyama both fell to that fate for the deaths of Sherlock Holmes and Goku respectively).
