  1. The funny thing is, I don't see any outliners on this one. And what is even more so is the cluster is most situated in the center as you said. However... the ones that are stable are either right authoritarian or left libertarian. Also on the topic of retaking the test. I never recommend retaking tests like this in rapid succession. In doing so, you project answers you feel would better suit where you see yourself. It skews the results. If you retook the test with years in between then it would be legitimate. Unfortunately this test does not have varying questions as other Standardized tests would, and thus limits its retakability.
  2. Here is mine from the DCTP one... Kyuu -6.0,-3.1 If I'm feeling up to it, I may do it again.
  3. I'll probably be on again after midterms. As for right now, I'm going mad.

  4. I'll find my spot on the DCTP one... I don't feel like doing that survey again >_> I'm somewhere were everyone else is... left libertarian. It seems that that is a solid pattern in the DC fandom.
  5. Ain't no denying that! Been a Batman fanboy since I first watched Batman: TAS as a youngin! :P

  6. LMAO <3 <3 <3 Damn straight I was. Is also why I learned martial arts!

  7. I said this to IHKF too... Japanese is a language based off inflection and implied meaning. They RARELY use aishiteru to say I love you, especially not as teenagers. It is seen as a childish thing to do, same with saying kirai. They rarely ever use it, especially not daikirai, as it is seen as a childish way to express dislike. The Japanese recognize those as powerful words, and thus treat them as things that should only be said in certain situations and after a certain age is reached and the feelings are completely known. Knowing the difference and knowing when and how to use them show adulthood.
  8. Thank you for deleting that thread <3 (at least I'm assuming you did)

    Kony 2012

I don't support Kony, but this needs to be watched. http://boingboing.net/2012/03/08/african-voices-respond-to-hype.html We know nothing. We have to remember that.
  11. Question: What do you mean by "everyone in here is completely misusing the word?" Just curious. Do you mean everyone is misusing the word relationships? If so... how? And as for the second part, I think it is a matter of view point. A lot of the arguments for Ran use what you say, Shinichi's choices as a point of contention to support that he belongs with Ran. While the Ayumi and Ai camps use personality and implied connection to build their argument. Both are equally valid in my opinion, but the former is stronger. And I really hate to quote Harry Potter for something like this but... "It is our choices that define us." I agree with that quote. However, I do think that Shiho matches up with Shinichi better. But that doesn't make a lick of difference, since he will end up with Ran because of his decisions. Gosho has made it pretty much painfully clear where the end of the series will go in terms of relationships. The only chance the AiCon/ShinShi and AyuCon camps have is Gosho trolling everyone. And that is pretty much no chance at all.

    Ran's clothes

I think Jodie is because she is American. I know that seems weird, but there are always differences between American characters in manga compared to Japanese characters. American fashion is definitely more sexual than Japanese, at least from what I have seen. I could be totally off base though.

    Ran's clothes

I agree, in anime there is a clear line drawn between slutty and normal clothes. And in anime especially there was a progression in terms of what is considered the norm for girl's clothes. You can even see the progression of the norm in Detective Conan. At the beginning of the series Ran's clothes had generally longer skirts, as time progressed and the 90s fashion became more prevalent skirts got shorter. Honestly the former is actually the norm in Japan for school uniforms. The fact that even those are short in later chapters, shows that it isn't a result of being slutty, but a response to the popular style in anime and manga. And naturally moderately short skirts are seen as cute, and that has been the view for a while. So long as nothing is being shown, it isn't seen as slutty. No one in DC dresses slutty. Sonoko at her worst dresses moderately provocatively.

    Ran's clothes

They are missing the Lolita one.
  15. That is impossible I'm afraid... You can't out do King Boomy and Toph. I'm sorry, it cannot be done.
  16. Long story but no, I did not get it from an anime, nor did I personally think it up.

    Conan x Ayumi

Age of the two participants is a factor in acceptability when an age gap is concerned. When you are a teenager even a 5 year age gap in either direction is considered bad, either because you are too old and considered a pedophile or you are too young and inexperienced (thus the older party is likely "taking advantage" of your naivety). However, as age increases that disappears, and when reaching adulthood the idea of consensual relationships arise. At the current moment, it would be considered bad for Shinichi to date Ayumi in any sense. 17 year old dating 7 year old bad, no matter whom you ask. However, 30 year old dating a 20 year old becomes more palatable and socially acceptable. However, if Shinichi remains as Conan that is a different story, as they will be viewed as the same age no matter what. However the interesting idea will be how Shinichi's adult mind will view being with someone with a teenage mind, despite physical similarity. Despite what the show says about Shinichi's mind, his thought process is still likely very much adolescent in nature as opposed to adult. I would be more interested to see, if he remains as Conan how his relationship with Ayumi would progress as his mind matures past the time of adolescence. Edit: Did I just counter my own argument?! I think I did. There must be something wrong with me.
  18. Out of those? I'd have to say I got the most enjoyment from the Peter Jackson LotR movies. I liked the Burton Batman movies more than the Nolan Batman movies. They had more atmosphere and less exposition.

    News case

Please link to sources with detailed reporting. Going from just that, I'd be hesitant to say anything definitive on the issue. I will say this though, diving is NOT easy. I've done it, and you are putting your life in the hands of a tank (or two) of compressed gas, a couple of gauges, a mask and some rubber tubing connected to a breathing device. If any one of those things fails, you are dead essentially dead depending on where you are. If you surface too fast, you are dead too. Basically a lot can go wrong. I think it is morally wrong to pass judgement on the guy before the facts are known and a full investigation is done. After doing a bit of googling.... It looks like the courts agreed with my take. The guy was negligent. His wife was probably an inexperienced diver and he failed to keep a closer eye on her and keep her calm. In that sense, yes, he killed her, but it was unintentional, and he should not be blamed. HE actually followed protocol leading her back to the rope. Most diving instructors follow this in normal situations. If she didn't indicate any issues (which she supposedly didn't) there would be no reason to do an emergency surface without the rope. In the end, I think there is not enough to actually convict him and unintentional manslaughter due to negligence as served in Australia was probably the right choice. Trying to go for more would be a mistake, and honestly he likely didn't intend to kill her. Diving is dangerous, and a lot can go wrong. If something happened that made her panic, and rendered her incapable of surfacing, he should only be charged for not giving her the proper aide (negligence). There was nothing to suggest that he intentionally put her in that position, and furthermore it didn't appear that he had any reason to either.
  20. Looking forward to it certainly, but I think this topic is better suited to the Music, Movies, TV forum. Though I don't believe anime is inherently different, a lot of people do, and Avatar, as awesome as it is, is not Japanese animation. That said, avatar is awesome, and the fact that the two creators are pretty much doing all the writing, I have high hopes for this series as being a darker stronger series than the original.
