  1. Thanks for finding more info to corroborate. I thought Aoyama seemed uncharacteristically direct about one of he things he supposedly said.
  2. I can't recall any specific cases where Conan thought of a female suspect nude when there wasn't a reason not to (i.e. suspect found dead in bathtub). I'm not counting "shadowpeople" because that is how they are drawn regardless of whether anyone is thinking of them or not. Someone linked pictures of Conan and other people thinking of other characters nude as a counterpoint to the Gin example (can't find where though...), but most of them consisted of Ran when Conan thought she was actually nude, and there was a also a Sherry-haired shadowperson. Basically, Gin was thinking of Sherry naked for no particular reason at all (I doubt he would think she was naked at the time), and more explicitly than similar portrayals of people's thoughts. Gin was in fact surprised that Sherry planted the transmitter and made the first move. "Who would have thought that you would take action and approach me first?" This also shows that Gin is assuming Sherry is listening in on the other end... Haibara decided to go as soon as she heard APTX4869 was going to be there from Conan. Gin assumed that Shiho was the one listening in on the other end, and thus would have heard about the APTX 4869 directly. He didn't know she was following his and Vodka's dialogue secondhand via Conan. So Gin's read of her personality was right; she wanted to go to the party because APTX was going to be there. Gin didn't anticipate she might not have heard about the APTX at first so she initially refused. There's probably a component of not wanting to be a danger to the kids, but preventing Ayumi from touching her at that moment isn't going to help. Also, it's uncharacteristic for Haibara to snap at the Detective Boys in relaxed conditions. Haibara was still in a reverie when Ayumi grabbed her arm. To explain it with another Detective Conan case (Coffee with murderous intent: chs 628-630, eps 513-514), Ran and Conan didn't want to eat Eri's gift cake after the case, despite both liking cake, because it reminded them of the tragic outcome. Basically, Haibara doesn't want to be touched at that moment because she was just thinking of something unpleasant related to Gin.
  3. Check back on page 7
  4. I think it's been proven Yuusaku is a better detective, he just doesn't have the motivation Shinichi has because Yuusaku prefers to write books, read, or whatever else the Kudo parents do while abroad.
  5. I think Conan just doesn't like people to die, even bad guys. (See Ran's comment in 773) Although Conan probably has a pretty good idea who scar Akai is, Conan can't be sure because the BO seemed to be targeting the guy. Conan couldn't go wrong by choosing to screw up the BO's plan.
  6. Thanks, I was wondering about that. I wish I knew Japanese so I could catch all the name puns. This is brilliant.
  7. No. Try starting a page for Detective Conan in other languages, or something like that. If you want to play around with it first to make it look right ahead of time, try sandboxing it on a user subpage.(http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/User:your_user_name_here/sandbox)
  8. Introduced in the series doesn't mean the boss has actually appeared in person. It could be a name, or even a vague reference to someone's sibling. Also I would like to see the source for this anyway. People say, "Gosho said it in an interview", but where is the interview? Court Record plz?
  9. Some of the translations were changed in between releases. The original chapter said that "The first one to come pester me for an autograph was the elephant. Her hair hadn’t yet dried from her time in the bath... What a burdensome elephant." Now the chapter says the vic's hair hadn't dried yet. Not sure what happened there, but I wish that was made clearer in the first chapter, because it would have helped in the scene recreation. Here is the blow by blow analysis of the crime with a theory to who the culprit is: For questions about the animal->color->profession nickname scheme, see this prior post and the post below it. Analysis of the room and slipper setup Summary of the visiting suspects timeline Analysis of evidence, the culprit, and theory of events Motive As for Isao's bomb, I wonder if it is armed with a dead man's switch, i.e. if he releases the button, it explodes. He did note there is a limit to how long he could stay awake in 771. On the other hand, he was also looking at his watch nervously in 773, indicating they may be timed bombs. Finally that whole "Shinichi wouldn't allow anyone to die! He absolutely wouldn't!!" line may convince Sera that Conan/Shinichi probably didn't come up with a plan that allowed Akai to die. It might result in extra pressure.
  10. Remastering is where they make the audio and the picture quality and colors better. Occasionally the content gets changed between original and remaster.
  11. I wonder if Ran is going to get chewed out by Megure for closing the curtains? It would be funny. Also, it is way too easy to imagine Sera's "WTF Ran" expression on Akai's face. This is the bomb squad's third recent appearance. I wish there was an new officer character associated with them. Finally, I think the Detective Boys are going to figure out Conan is Shinichi before Ran does. Detective Boys suspicion arc... GOOO!!!
  12. Araide? Radish Redwood?
  13. Kogoro pulls them out when Conan isn't looking.
  14. One common way to write grey in japanese is 鼠色. Which basically is the combination of the characters for mouse/rat and color. It's kind of like how in English we use "orange" (the name of a fruit) to refer to that color between red and yellow. The color wordplay I think there was enough info to get, although it was wordplay and therefore by definition I must loathe the solution. It's interpreting the vic's messages and the ryokan clues that I think there isn't enough info about.
  15. Going on the little comparative evidence we have, Kaito may be better at actually making and executing disguises quickly (although Vermouth disguised as Radish Redwood quickly), but Vermouth is better at acting and staying in character.
  16. ConAi is nice because Ai is more of an intellectual equal to Shinichi and can thus they can run ideas off of each other. Also Haibara is in a better position to sympathize with the current situation Conan is in and Shinichi's work in general which deals with the nastiness of human society. She also is willing to challenge and break Conan's secret keeping habits which sometimes result in destructive outcomes, and be there when Conan is thinking of doing something dangerous. Ai's personality provides a balancing contrast; she has the ability to bring Shinichi down to earth by poking holes in his ego, and more importantly calling him out when he is getting too reckless (Conan's biggest weakness now). AiCon doesn't have the same interpersonal trust and development that ShinRan developed over time though.
  17. I haven't checked the spoilers yet, but I don't think there are enough clues to definitively pick out who is the culprit (by that I mean rule the others out) despite what Conan said. I am curious to know the solution to the ryokan crime part.

  19. Sorry for the double post but the final question is up. I couldn't add another question about what was causing it, but give your thoughts about what it is in the comments! Is it a sniper rifle, just a laser pen, or something else? If you already voted and want to change or vote in the final question, click remove vote and simply recast it. --------------------------------------------------------------- Regarding the case there is one obvious theory based on the above colors and the suspects' professions and hobbies. I don't know if it is right... Mitsui's stonemasonry goes with mouse grey (stones are grey) Yuchi's bakery goes with the fox color (think baked bread color) Nihei's seal business goes with the ivory white (seals are made out of ivory/are often ivory white) Isao's camo colored survival gear goes with the nightingale green brown However... did the "rat" really commit the crime? We have more clues to work out including the damp books and the locked room mystery. Remember the poll is not who is the "rat", but who the killer was!
  20. You haven't enabled your messages apparently. In the upper right hand corner there should be a blue box with your avatar in it. Click your name to open the pulldown tab and select settings. One of them should enable messages. I can't do it for you unfortunately.

  21. Might as well put this thread to good use... Was Yumi in the Raven Chaser? (Don't rely on the wiki for this one. I'm actually checking someone's edits over there.)
