(Volume 32 File 8-10) The reason why Akai gives Haibara the Org smell was because he infiltrated the Black Organization before with the alias Moroboshi Dai where he received the codename Rye and worked under Gin. Akai has already given Haibara the Black Org vibes before. (Volume 32 File 9 Page 12; Volume 38 File 1 Page 18)The article for the Okiya is Akai theory goes over more reasons why Okiya isn't Bourbon.

Triangulate SatoxTakagi by adding a new female character to the Tokyo Met who likes Takagi. Then I would team up said female with Takagi on some cases to get Sato jealous. Finally said female would commit suicide to save Takagi because it turns out she was a Black Org spy whose feelings for Takagi led her to want to save him from stumbling into the Org's crosshairs during a case and getting killed. And then Takagi cries even though he still loves Sato. Also a Haibara-takes-an-antidote-for-some-reason-even-if-it-has-nothing-to-do-with-the-Org case. I'd also like to see more of Hakuba, specifically as a rival for Shinichi and Hattori. Hattori started as a rival for Shinichi, but now they work together, leaving the rival spot open. Kogoro. More of Kogoro being awesome, and perhaps a little vague hinting that he knows that Conan is Shinichi just to make people wonder. Gin on a motorcycle.

You would think Haibara of all people would have learned by now Conan is usually spot on. She was also the one who suggested going straight into the fire by visiting the room in question. If there is a possibility that one kid is being held by unfamiliar adults, more kids visiting those people would be unwise. It's probably too soon for another Okiya rescue appearance. Ditto for Hattori as he appeared ~20 chaps ago. (Doesn't he usually come in the summer?) Assuming the bad guys grab the kids for being too nosy and take their phones, Conan will probably notice they haven't called back and assume they got in trouble. Conan will probably call for rescue, most likely the police, because he is too sick to go himself. We haven't seen Sato in a while. Or we could find out Ayumi's mom is really a 10th Dan Judo master.

This is the other reason Vermouth taking APTX4869 doesn't make sense; if they knew APTX4869 deaged people, the Org would have figured out how Shiho escaped. Atsushi and Elena Miyano may have started the APTX4869 project but the general project may have been started by someone else. Vermouth seems like she wants the Black Org to be brought down, but for some reason is unable to do so or does not want to do so herself. Rather than directly attacking the Org, she seems to have decided to give Shinichi and Shiho a fair and fighting chance to take he Org down and is helping them by keeping their secret and using her influence to keep them from being killed. (She saved Conan from being shot by Gin and co and Mouri Detective agency.) As for why she isn't completely loyal to the Org, it could be that over time her views and perspective have changed so she no longer sees eye to eye with the Org's mission. (Because of her anti-aging condition?) She could also be held “hostage” in some way. That conversation was by text message.

Right now, it isn't clear if Vermouth isn't aging at all or got younger at some point because of an experimental drug. She probably never took APTX4869 because, at the time, the Org believed (and still believes) that APTX was incomplete and that it only worked as a poison. Vermouth would have needed to take something else. Sharon’s mother may also be Vermouth because she died in a fire on the day Sharon debuted. (vol 35-1 page 2) Sharon may not be Vermouth’s first alias. Vermouth would currently have to be 70-85 if Sharon's mom was also Vermouth as well. This would imply that APTX in its current incarnation isn’t the source of Vermouth’s apparent failure to age. Shiho’s parents and their experiments are too young to account for the timepoint. It would have to be Shiho’s grandparents or something else. Based on the above info, it could be that something affected Vermouth a long time ago which halted her aging, but the Org has been unable to replicate the effects. Atsushi and Elena Miyano may have created APTX4869 based on Vermouth. Later when Shiho took up the research, she would have had to come into contact with Vermouth which explains why despite being a researcher, she knows Vermouth well enough personally to be terrified. Note that if Vermouth's aging was halted when she was 20-30 years old, the triggering event would have occurred 50+ years before the current time, matching up with Shiho's quote about how Kudo is part of an Org project that has been going on for over half a century. (file 189, but see the ep 130/131 for a better translation) The project she is mentioning is the Org's immortality project that started with Vermouth and which APTX4869 is a subproject within. Vermouth's resentment of her condition is probably the reason behind her dislike of all the Miyanos and their “foolish”(434) research. Vermouth's resentment may also be why she seems to want the Black Org brought down - she is tired of it all. I imagine her non-aging is also the reason for the boss's favoritism.

Back to the main topic, Gin and Shiho's relationship has been mentioned in the official Conan Drill guidebook (Specifically it's the relationship diagram on page 239). I moved the arrow legend to the top to save space. Note it was written before the conclusion of the Vermouth arc before Gin had suspicions about Vermouth being up to no good and keeping dangerous secrets. In case the image goes down, the text of the image is in the spoiler Gin's connection with Sherry which has led to his obsession over hunting her down and her hatred and extreme fear of him probably goes back to a relationship they had before Shiho betrayed the Org. Gin clearly knows Shiho personality very well as he can anticipate her movements despite having rather different lines of work. Shiho hardly knew most of the other agents in non-science related positions. She hadn't met Pisco since she was a baby, she had only heard of Korn and Chianti, and hadn't heard of Kir. Bourbon is new and thus doesn't count. Conan never asked about Tequila. Vermouth likely had a connection with the parents because of her apparent aging weirdness despite not being in science. Gin is on the business/assassination side of things, so it is anomalous how well he seems to know her given how she doesn't know much about anyone else outside of the research branch. They clearly have a connection outside of their professions to account for knowing each other so well. They must have spent lots of time together if Gin can identify her from a single hair with conviction. There are various possibilities for relationships between Shiho and Gin, like childhood friends (age difference could be an issue), mutual relationship or one sided attraction or abuse (Age difference again is an issue and that Shiho was in America until recently), mentor-mentee, etc. There is a strong case to be made for a romantic mutual relationship or onesided attraction using a good retranslation of the first chapter of the Reunion with the Black Org (the Pisco case) (file 24-7 or 238, ep 176) where the translator pointed out the innuendo Gin was using. (The retranslation was by kentaru). The retranslated monologue of Gin's in the dream is as follows: The translator also had a notes page from which I will quote a relevant section: Now, add this information to Gin's description of their meeting as a "reunion", him thinking of her in the nude, and Haibara yelling "Don't touch me!" when Ayumi places her hand on Haibara's arm, snapping her out remembering her dream. Furthermore, when the two of them meet on the rooftop of the Hyde City Hotel, there are more suggestive exchanges. Gin purposefully chose not to do his job in the most efficient fashion- shooting Shiho in the chimney- but instead chose to make a special exception for her by waiting out for her on the snowy rooftop because killing her there would be, paraphrasing, more beautiful. She even gets into the act by thanking him, albeit sarcastically, for "waiting for her in the cold"; Shiho seems to purposefully be alluding to the stereotypic scenario of one lover waiting for another in poor climate. Gin also makes a comment about her disguise, the uniform and the glasses, being unsuitable for her, which carries an implication that he thinks there is some other outfit which would be more suitable. In conclusion, I think there is significant evidence that they had a romantic relationship going on between them because I don't think Gin would, even though part of it is a dream, phrase things like that for the heck of it. The rooftop exchange seems to corroborate with Gin's dream personality. Whatever kind of relationship they had obviously didn't work out, probably because of Gin's messed up personality. Based on the fact Gin is still obsessing, Shiho was probably the one to dump him.

Conan figured the two adults are not the biological parents from a few things. The most definite are Masao's cleft chin and widow's peak. Both are dominant traits and can't be inherited from two people lacking those physical features. Also the child's nose and his eyebrows look rather different from the fake parents'. Parents wouldn't carry a misbehaving child by their coat hood either because it puts pressure on the neck. (And the squirming kid might rip the clothes if their priorities are messed up.) The fake parents sealed the deal by claiming to be the biological parents if you interpret "and your slanted eyes come from father" as a claim of biological paternity. I assume one of the fake parents is Uemura, the prior tenant who left his job at the company suspected of tax evasion. The reason why the fake parents came back to the apartment likely had to do with the producer from Nichuri who visited two weeks ago. If the producer could get into the apartment without being accompanied by a landlord then Uemura should have still been living there two weeks ago. It was mentioned the suspect company was in the news so I assume the producer was there to interview Uemura, discuss something with him (i.e. wants a bribe to cover up Uemura's involvement), or was lured there by Uemura to be attacked. Uemura probably was the one who attacked the producer. The producer's visit matches the timing of the accident (also two weeks ago) and the severity (an attempt to silence him). The producer's return to consciousness yesterday is what prompted Uemura and an associate to force their way back to the apartment. Holding the new residents hostage without attempting to conceal their identities and allowing themselves to be seen with the kid by other tenants don't imply much planning and consideration, which makes sense if Uemura and friend were forced to cover something up last minute because the producer woke up the day before and might talk. It is possible that some evidence of the producer's visit was left behind which would make them suspects, either a physical object (one would hope the apartment would be well cleaned between tenants), or something not so easy to remove like fingerprints or bloodstains. There is the possibility they faked the traffic accident by attacking the producer in the room then staging his body at a road.

I am going to be working on the Scar Akai is Bourbon article (wiki sandboxed here!) and the How Akai faked his death version (wiki sandboxed here!) as well, so if you have any ideas on top of what I have, feel free to add stuff.
