Kogoro and Sonoko are invited to party held on a ship. Ai, who caught a cold during the last case, stays at Agasa's house to recuperate. Conan finds a new member of the Black Organization named Vermouth, the member which Ai was frightened of, most notably in episodes 230-231. During the party, Kogoro finds that the captain of the ship was murdered and decides to investigate. But unbeknownst to him, a mysterious figure also decides to investigate. First appearance of Calvados. Jodie and Akai's whereabouts are explored.   Another encounter occurs in which Vermouth reveals she knows about Ai's true identify and the FBI learns about it. Jodie is found to be FBI member which was trying to capture Vermouth along with Akai. Vermouth didn't shoot Ran after remembering that she saved her.

James Black enters Jodie's hospital room, and discusses her current situation. Later, Haibara also enters, and Jodie asks of her to please consider entering the witness protection program. Haibara says she will think about it, and is a little distant to Conan and the Detective Boys later. While walking home, Ayumi walks into a man covered in a trenchcoat, running. He drops a bloody knife. Also, Genta has a strange mark on his shorts. Takagi and Sato are investigating a murder, and Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys help the investigation. Conan grabs Ayumi's hand, resulting in Ayumi blushing and gasping a little.

Conan discovers the mark on Genta's shorts has to do with the murderer's car. Takagi, Sato, Chiba, and Megure round-up a group of suspects. Ayumi discovers that she knows which of them is the murderer. However, she is too scared to confront them, but she wants to. Haibara tells her that sometimes it's brave to not show yourself, to which Ayumi responds that she doesn't want to run away because, "If I run away, I can't win!" These words ring in Haibara's head. Ayumi confronts the killer, and additional evidence thanks to Conan is able to solve the case. Haibara later finally tells Jodie that no, she will not go into the witness protection program. Haibara is shown smiling, as is Conan. Jodie asks Haibara to enter the Witness Protection program, but she refuses after hearing Ayumi say "If I run away, I can't win." Later, Jodie and James compare Haibara's refusal to Jodie's insistence on joining the FBI as a girl after her father was murdered. Ayumi grabs onto Conan's arm and snuggled against him, saying she isn't worried because Conan will protect her.

Kogoro and Conan are relaxing in the café below Kogoro's office. There, Azusa hands them a cell phone that had been left there a few days before. It is almost dead, and when it was on, strange angry phone calls would come in. She is hoping Kogoro can find the owner. When Conan turns the phone on, he sees strange numbers in the phone's address book. Later, Yumi Miyamoto enters the café and says that the man was hit by a truck, and died. Could that man have to do with the cell phone? First appearance of Officer Numata.

After some investigating by Conan, Kogoro, and Yumi, there are able to locate the identity of the killed man, as well as the secrets of the cell phone. Conan figures out that the numbers are not real contacts, but are very important pieces of confidential and scandalous information. Later, the men behind the scheme on the phone are captured.

Inspector Jugo Yokomizo arrives on the scene, and begins questioning each participant. No one was by the victim when they died. Can Conan figure out the case, as well as the trick the killer used?

A seven year old movie star by the name of Kazuki Kinukawa comes to the Mouri office to try and find his mother who abandoned him at the office. His reasons are to tell his mother he will not give her any money now that he is famous. Conan finds out that the kids mother is at Atami due to the old dirty postcards she sent him. Kazuki reveals that he remembered that his mother had a mole near her breast. A man who is trying to confirm the rumor that Kazuki's father is a murderer is found dead in a tub. When the episode begins Conan and Kogoro are watching a drama called "Golden Demon" which is based on a book of the same name. Conan observes that the author of "Golden Demon" suddenly passed away during the serialization of the novel and so the two main characters who were love interests lost their chance to get their happiness together for all eternity, then Conan/Shinichi while gently looking at Ran says to himself- "But in our case, I won't let that happen." Conan gets upset when Kinukawa tries to use Ran to determine the exact location of his mother's mole...

A picture is found on his cellphone; The culprit is a woman with a mole near her breast. Conan finds out who the murderer is. Conan also figures out the culprit was one of the woman who pretended to be his mother and was the one to spread the rumors. Conan reveals that his real mother is also here, and that she truly loved her son and the same for her son; the postcards were dirty because they were stained with tears. While signing autographs, Kazuki gives his mother a postcard and tells her to send it to him or he'll visit her again. He leaves while wearing his sunglasses and his mother cries and apologizes to her son.

Professor Agasa has created a computer program that can give you the identity of anyone in the world. He decides to use it on figuring out who Kaitou Kid is. Before he does, the program gives him a history of the Kid, as well as preview clips of the eighth movie. When he is about to finally figure out who the Kid is, Kid appears on the computer screen, announcing he has hacked the program. This special is about past cases involving Kaitou Kid.

Sonoko's uncle wants to capture Kaitou Kid to improve his fame. Kaitou Kid arrives on the scene and seemingly walks on air to investigate the treasure he will steal. Conan investigates and finds out the trick Kaitou Kid used. The second time Kaitou Kid tries to steal the jewel but it was revealed to be a distraction. Kaitou Kid steals the jewel from indoors and is making his escape on a motorcycle when Conan is found to be on the passenger seat. Kaitou Kid manages to lose Conan and escape once again. Jirokichi Suzuki is introduced. Kaitou Kid squares off against Suzuki for the first time. Heist: Blue Wonder

Ran and Conan run into Sachiko, an acquaintance of Ran's, while shopping. She says she is buying steak for dinner with her lover who's visiting. Later Ran and Conan find that Sachiko is murdered. Ran is jealous of Sachiko as she has a special someone for whom she can make special dinner and misses Shinichi dearly. Conan gives her faith and tells her Shinichi will come back and when he does he will come through the front door and say "Yo! Ran!!" and Ran say when that happens she will ask him what he was up to and give him a roundhouse kick! And with a deadpan look Conan says that means he still can't come back...

Takagi and Sato are on a date at Tropical Island while the Tokyo police force try and prevent Takagi from making a move with Sato. Later, the Detective Boys are bought up and Takagi and Sato are forced to watch over them. Later Takagi's bag with a wedding ring in it is switched, and Takagi finds out he has a bag of cocaine. Inspector Manabu Fujimaki, Detectives Fukui, Horita, Kawanaka, Oda, Miyazaki, Nakamura, Oda, Saitoh, Sogawa, Takano, Takikawa, Okumura, and Sugita are introduced. Takagi and Sato are on a date! He plans on offering her a ring, but the other officers are jealous and interfere! The detective Boys and Professor Agasa are invited to the theme park by inspector Shiratori to prevent Takagi from making a move on Sato.

The Detective Boys visit a pet shop and find the owner, Minoru Shirai, dead. They find a Rhinoceros beetle and pamphlets of an insect museum at Gunma Prefecture. Takagi drives the Detective Boys to the museum where they learn that a truck load of Rhinoceros beetles were stolen from the van. Conan investigates and realizes Shirai and an accomplice were the thieves and that the accomplice was the murderer.

Sonoko, Ran, and Conan go to the school where they discover the real Dr. Araide is back. He informs Conan of what happened, and told him that Jodie told him to tell him everything. Later, Sonoko rants on about the death of a student terrorizing the school, and tells them stories to support this claim. Later the desk is found outside with a name on it. What's strange is that it's raining, yet, there's no footprints in the mud. Introduction of Kazumi Tsukamoto, Eisuke Aizawa and Nakamichi. The real Dr. Araide returns with his family from oversees and talks to Conan about it.

Conan solves the case and reveals the culprit was a close friend to the dead student. The culprit reveals that he found his friend's desk in the storage room with a name on it, thinking he was murdered. The other students reveal that he died saving a student that fell off the stairs while holding a heavy sculpture. Another student explains that his desk was put in the storage room to store his desk for graduation and was not to hide evidence. Dr.Araide reveals that the dead student held no grudges when he died.

An old lady is found dead after a pot falls on her from the top of a building. Officer Chiba is sent to investigate, and Conan helps him figure out who the culprit it really is. The news, of course, comes to a shock to Ayumi, who just happens to look up the culprit.

Mouri is hired to stalk a man. He follows the man and finds out his attempted murder on a woman. He later flees but falls off a building. Later they find out his twin brother also died at the same time he did. They decided they are two separate cases but Conan is suspicious as the man attacked the woman whom has no relationship to him.

After interrogating the woman, they learn her boyfriend was a gold digger and that he was spotted talking with the attacker from before. Conan figures out that the two exchanged murder targets so they would not be suspected of the murder. The culprit reveals that he did it so his gold digger career would not be endangered.

Sadly the next day, the headmaster is murdered and they are four suspects: Kannen, Mokunen, Tonnen and Shunen. The same thing happened 2 years ago; a student was murdered. Agasa invents the Button Speaker.

Conan investigates and with evidence proves who the culprit is. The culprit reveals that he did it to the victim for cheating on his(victim)'s wife. The wife reveals that that he divorced her not because he was cheating, but because he was going to burrow money to start up a business, and if that business failed, he did not want the debt collectors to burrow his wife. Agasa arrives and reveals that the victim made a full recovery and that he will forgive the culprit if he catches wife for his wife.

A serial killer who strangles his victims first then stabs them though their wallet to their chest appears in Osaka. Heiji Hattori invites Conan, Ran, and Mouri for a tour in Osaka. While on the tour they meet Kazuha Toyama who has followed them since the beginning to "Keep an eye on Heiji from Ran". Later, their a body is dropped onto the car, the third victim of the same serial killer. After failing to prevent the fourth victim from being killed, they found out the victims are indeed connected, they took the driving test at the same time at the same place. Heiji then travels to meet up with the councilman named Gouji, who is a suspect of causing the murders. Conan is forced by Ran to travel with another officer to go to their hotel but due to an emergency, they are driven to the site where Numabuchi, a mass murder and also a suspect, is thought to be hiding. After Conan finds him, he realizes Numabuchi and Gouji are not the murderer. Heiji also realizes this and both figure out Sakada, the tour guide police, is the murderer. After stopping his suicide, Heiji is shot but survives. First appearance of Goro Otaki, Kazuha Toyama, Ginshiro Toyama, and Ki'ichiro Numabuchi.

Sonoko has taken Conan to the "Candy House", in there, Conan meets a group of three masters who make pastries and puddings: Maeda Gou, Fujino Yasuo and Morimoto Tomomi, and they have tasted the things that the three of them have made, which are very delicious. However, Morimoto has had a quarrel with their manager Hashigaki in front of them. Then, after a while, they suddenly hear Maeda's scream. When everyone has gone to see what is happening, they see the pitiful sight of Hashigaki who has been beaten to death, and must solve the mystery of the murder.

Doctor Yokoto Owada of the Beika Central Hospital wins the third place prize at a raffle. The raffle makes it his third winning of the week. When Conan returns home, he discovers that the one year supply of beer that Doctor Owada won is a lie because the draw didn't start yet. The next day, the Detective Boys find out the raffle had been fixed by a tall and slender woman posing as the doctor's wife and when walking down the streets, they overhear gossip of the doctor's other made up winnings. Following the trail of gossip, they soon find the woman responsible for the rumors named Akiko Shiina and her motive. Conan dismisses the case to trick the Detective Boys into going home, but returns at night to stop Akiko from murdering the doctor.

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are invited by the hostess of a car accident charity named Shou Beniko. While driving, they find a message from the Phantom of the Cursed Masks who tells them they should not go. Once there, they find other famous celebrities; a baseball player, a prophet, a rockstar, and a man who lost his wife in a Hit and Run incident. The mansion they will be staying at is a huge mansion divided by the east and west side; and the only room connecting the two sides is the mask room, which is locked at midnight due to Shobel's mask. They were created by a famous man who lost everything and became engrossed in his masks; once he created 200 of them, he was found dead in his room surrounded with bloody masks. People who have owned his mask have suffered tragic fates. Shou who now owns all 200 masks has a priest place a seal on the curse, but the room will locked at midnight to prevent them from wandering. During their stay, Shou was murdered in a locked room with masks surrounding her and a dagger in her throat. Conan later figures out the trick and reveals the culprit. The culprit reveals that his mother was blamed for a hit and run incident and murdered by Shou, who then took fame and profit from her charity.

The death of Sato's last partner haunts her when she is put up against the same bomber. The bomber likes to place bombs around the city. Some bombs will display the location of an even bigger bomb if left for the last three seconds, this resulted in the death of Sato's partner in the past. After following clues placed by the bomber, Takagi and Conan are trapped in an elevator, where they await the bomb's clue to the location of an even bigger bomb. Conan disarms the bomb before the last second as he has already figured out the last part of the code. He stops the bomber and he is captured. Kenji Hagiwara's first appearance. Takagi finally asked Conan who he really is, suggesting his full suspicion on Conan's real identity. Conan said he'll tell him in another world. However, in the end, he wasn't able to do so. But this will be a new clue that Takagi closeness to Conan's identity is to be on it's way to it. Takagi and Sato almost kissed each other but is interrupted by Megure.   The case of 3 and 7 years ago is explored... The death of the two dismantlers who died on duty Hagiwara and Matsuda and some other officials. The terrorist appears again and Sato will try to get revenge for Matsuda.

For an astronomical observation, Conan and the group went to a pension deep inside the mountain. Other than the pension owner, there were also other three people in the pension, the victim's fiancé and the two magazine staff. As they went to the nearby hill to see the stars, they saw a decayed bones and on top of it they found the dying message and then that night the other man from the magazine staff was killed and left another dying message.

After Conan, Haibara, Detective Boys, and Professor Agasa realizes that the dying message was referring to Hajime Futagawa's initials, they decided to confront him. But he went missing so as the other suspects. While they were searching at the woods, they later found Futagawa's body on the ground dead. On his hand, another pack of cigarette was found. This time, it contains seven. They also found a cellphone with a will on it, confessing Futagawa's crime and decided to commit suicide. Conan realizes that he didn't commit suicide and the seven cigarette was a clue to the real murderer. So they decided to search to each one's rooms and belongings to find the murder weapon. While looking through the guestbook, Conan finally manage to find out the real culprit behind the murders.

The Detective Boys are on a camping trip accompanied by Ran. Later they witness an arguing couple who then leaves. They then set up the tent in the couple's area. Later, the couple returns demanding their place back and the girlfriend decides to let them have it. Later Ran is drugged and kidnapped. The kidnapper is later found in another car in a road accident. Conan reveals the boyfriend hired the kidnapper to murder his girlfriend, but captured Ran instead because of their tent placement. After examining some clues, he realizes that Ran is in a river and that the it will flood at 3o'clock. After saving Ran, everyone becomes exhausted except for Ran who has just woken up from her nap.

After this Ayumi said that Conan will be her Momotaro.

Conan, Ran, and Kogoro take a trip to a hot springs lodge. One of the guests, Harumi, asks Kogoro to investigate a case from five years ago. Her friend had been accused of selling drugs, and as a result committed suicide. Harumi knows that her friend was innocent and believes that two of the other guests there were the real culprits. The two women are found murdered, but in both cases it is a locked room case and it resembles the legendary curse of the goddess of vengeance. Ema is murdered in a shrine with Long Sleeve Kimonos lying around her while Asuka is found murdered in the women's hot spring surrounded by Obis.

Conan notices that the footprints outside the shrine are too shallow and sees that there is a crack in the ceiling in front of the hot spring; from these and other clues he is able to deduce how the culprit faked an alibi. Conan finds out the identity of the culprit and their relationship to the case that happened five years ago.

This special Christmas episode of "Detective Conan" is introduced by Heiji Hattori, Conan Edogawa, Ran Mouri, and Kazuha Toyama. Heiji won a bet in the previous episode and so it's decided that they're all going to the high school baseball finals in Koshien Stadium. But there is a mysterious guy willing to commit a suicide bombing there. This incident just puts more stress on Conan and Heiji, even though they came to a ball game for amusement and relaxation. The unknown person gives them a chance to stop him, however. Heiji and Conan are both struggling to crack the codes, sent by the mysterious man, before the bomb goes off. Earlier, Conan and Heiji witnessed the person walk by them and they thought he dropped his cell phone, when he purposely left it there to "play the inevitable game" with them, consisting of cryptic text messages. In order to solve this case and save countless lives, Heiji and Conan would need a lot a background information dealing with America's favorite pastime, baseball. Ran admits that Shinichi looked cool standing alone on the field after the game.   A flashback to when Shinichi was in middle school competing in soccer finals.
