An old lady is found dead after a pot falls on her from the top of a building where she lived alone.

Accident?

It seems that the crows accidentally made the potted plant fall from the top of the apartment and hit Egami's head. Could this be an accident?

Chiba is sent to investigate, and Conan helps him to figure out who the culprit really is. The news, of course, comes as a shock to Ayumi, who just happens to look up to the culprit.

They then confronted Noriko Imai, where Conan says Egami was not killed by the flower pot on accident but it was only her who could that since she is the only one living above the victim. She fished Egami's flower pot up, then she dropped the fishing line down to the floor, circled the string behind the broken refrigerator and taped the lottery ticket to it. Finally, putting the lottery ticket on the front step, she waited for Tatsue to return. When Tatsue tried to pick up the lottery ticket, she pulled the line, that way, she can position her at exactly where she was needed. However, she couldn't aim for Tatsue's head, since the refrigerator was to big and it probably blocked her view of her. After dropping the pot, she pulled the lottery ticket back to complete the trick, where she then put the 500 yen coin there before hand to explain the strange position of Tatsue. To incriminate her, Conan saw strange marks under the refrigerator when the garbage-men collected it, along with a torn piece of the lottery ticket that ripped when she was pulling it back up. Imai confesses where she reveals that Tatsue Egami humiliated her in her own shop by bringing a letter that she picked up. This letter was actually the ripped break-up letter (divorce certificate) that her boyfriend wrote to her.

The "Grandma Crow" is made the broken heart of Noriko's boyfriend from divorce certificate.

Tatsue Egami had found the letter which was ripped up and in pieces from the garbage can where she then proceeded to repair it in order to humiliate Noriko in her shop, while Noriko herself was trying to forget the sorrowful memory. With Ayumi's persuasion, she turns herself in.
