Takagi is walking alone but later then approached by Yumi in a patrol car. Yumi expects Takagi to go for a date with Sato again but Takagi strictly says that "it is not a date". On the next day, a man appears to give a present for Sato via the Detective Boys. He says that the present is perishable so they must send it to him quickly. The man vanishes and Conan appears later on. After explaining something about Haibara and the Professor, Amuro appears to give reasoning about the previous case at the HQ too. Sato becomes anxious about Takagi's secret and threatens Chiba who was observing Takagi last night. He tells her that he got yelled at by Takagi after telling that the sticker coming out from Takagi's notebook had Sato's picture on it. After the Detective Boys send the present, Sato opens it and finds a tablet PC where there is a video letter in it. It shows Takagi bandaged and lying on a wood. Sato informs Inspector Megure about this and discusses about the planning of this case. Conan pours some ideas but later Superintendent Matsumoto arrives to give some orders. Sato then starts questioning the Detective Boys, and investigate the case. Chiba, who was ordered to continue observing the tablet PC, finds that Takagi is adjusting position on the wood and likely wants to commit suicide. However, Conan explains that Takagi is dropping his cop notebook to give a clue to someone down the highrise. Lastly, Conan discusses with Sato about a case related to this case. First appearance of Wataru Date, Takagi's former police mentor. This is the first time Sato meets Naeko and the first time the Detective Boys meet Tooru Amuro.

The police are still searching for the location where Takagi is being held at. Three people seem to be connected and through them, a person is suspected to be the kidnapper. Then, the police rushes to ambush him. Sato explains to the culprit that he has mistaken Wataru Takagi as Wataru Date who has dumped Natalie, her daughter, making her commit suicide. Actually, Date did not meet Natalie not because of dump intent but because he was hit by a car and died. However, before the culprit could tell the location of Takagi, he dies because of the poison that he took before the police arrived. Takagi continues to drop clues and hopes somebody will notice him but he later realizes that there is a bomb under the wood where he is lying.   Date handed over his notebook to Takagi before he died.

The police notices the bomb under the wood where Takagi is lying is a time bomb that will detonate soon. The only hint for the location of Takagi is a recorded blurred footage which is referring to Sun Pillar phenomenon, deduced by Conan. Sato and Megure ride a chopper to go to Takagi's location. Sato jumps from the helicopter and saves the exhausted Takagi. Takagi feels like it's his fault not to have mentioned Natalie earlier about Date's death but later opposed by Sato. It seems Tooru Amuro and Wataru Date were very good friends and acquainted with each other at some point, he could be the lean fellow friend Date referenced in flashbacks. Takagi and Sato share their second and third kiss, much to the chagrin of the other officers.   Date and Amuro were close friends and attended Police academy together.

Conan and Haibara are late for a ski trip with Agasa and the Detective Boys so they have to request a ride from Subaru. On the way there, they meet with Detective Takagi and a case just happens. Conan and Subaru begin investigating before the police arrives. Haibara does not hate Subaru as much as before.

Conan is able to find the trick used by the culprit and makes a deduction via Shinichi's text message and shows it to Takagi. Subaru reveals that he has made a promise with someone regarding Haibara.

While in the festival, they meet the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Ice Festival named Mika Itakura. Her father, the former village head, was Agasa’s old friend but unfortunately, he died in a car accident last year. While the detective boys and the others are walking together, they meet the ice engraver named Tetsuya Shiota who made an awesome ice sculptures. The Detective Boys are really impressed at him when he built an ice sculpture of a bear while using a chain saw

At 6:00 AM in morning time, Takagi had breakfast at Janothon's and begins to go jogging for exercising. While jogging, he met the part-timer named Hideko Sasamoto and says good morning to her. When he went ahead of her, Takagi found the bag and when he opens it, he found thirty million yen inside. Sasamoto thinks Takagi is a burglar but he tells her it's not what it looks like. At the police station, the officer confirms it's thirty million yen and it hasn't been reported about the lost and found items. When Sasamoto learns that Takagi is a police detective, she started apologizing to him for thinking that Takagi's a burglar.

On a rainy night, Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are riding in their rental car talking about the person who requested Kogoro to investigate if her boyfriend who was cheating passed away. The person's name is Kaoru Sasamori and she fell down a flight of stone stairways. It happened three months ago when four people were at the funeral of Kaoru Sasamori. The four people are Takashi Sasamori (Kaoru's older brother), Hikari Tsuge (Kaoru's ex-lover), Mariko Noguchi (Tsuge's manager), and Kazumi Ishikura (Kaoru's friend). It started when Takashi angrily accused Tsuge to be the murderer pushing Kaoru down the stairs which he saw him do it. The police already investigated and the misunderstandings were solved but it doesn't fool Takashi. Tsuge denies every word what Takashi said because he claims that he did not kill Kaoru. Back in the present, Kogoro is going to Tsuge's house because this morning, Tsuge contacted to Kogoro saying, "About that time's murderer, I'll tell you, so please come."

Ran, Sonoko and Sera are going home from school and discussing about a case where Yusaku and Shinichi cannot solve. On the way home, they encounter a case that is similar to the discussed case where the similarity is the dying message, "death" word. Ran sends a text message to Shinichi to go to his house for case investigation. Conan is rushing to Shinichi's house after reading the message to avoid Sera meeting Subaru but failed. They later called Detective Takagi to investigate the case but Inspector Megure has decided this is a theft case, not a murder case. Conan appears to agree as well. This is the first time Sera meets Subaru and she looks a little bit shocked. 2)Sera finds a glass with lipstick on it and a long strand of hair in the kitchen deducing that since Subaro is the one currently staying in the house the female guest must be his and not Shinichi's. Flashback to a case Yusaku Kudo once solved.

When Conan, Ran, Sonoko, Sera and Subaru are discussing about the case, Subaru talks about rumors that Shinichi has died but later confronted by Sera. Ran apologies Subaru for lying him about Shinichi. Then, Sera decides Ran to make a call for Shinichi. Conan runs to a toilet, making Subaru suspects him. Sonoko takes a chance to tease Ran to show her feeling to Shinichi but failed. She said something that Subaru told her earlier to tell to Shinichi and gives Conan another lead to the case. Shinichi tells Ran to go to the crime scene again to test his deduction. Subaru sees Conan going out from toilet just after Shinichi hangs up the talk with Ran and figures it out. He later teases Conan about Shinichi in front of the others. Subaru Okiya discovers Conan's true identity. 2)Sera is seen with tears about to fall from her eyes looking back at Ran and Conan saying "I'm a bad kid afterall". Flashback to a case Yusaku Kudo once solved.

When Ran was about go to near the dead body, Conan told her to wait and take a look. The water accumulated to the very top, yet there are no splashes, or droplets of water surrounding the tub. Nishizawa sank into the tub and it's probably been about 5-6 hours since he died. After Conan tells Ran to call the police, he goes and takes a closer look. He found an empty bottle of sleeping pills and more importantly, he found the flower petal in the middle of the water. The shape is similar to cherry blossom petal but the colors different. Suddenly, Sato and Takagi arrived so Sato told Takagi to contact the police headquarters. When Conan asked Sato why is she here, she answers a motorboat from Heikyū river that was registered was stolen, turned up Nishizawa's fingerprints. Later, Conan went into another room and found some books on the desk

Takeshi is forced into a locked cabin for suspicion of murder. Everyone in the family is interested in the Hatamoto inheritance but are shocked to find that a will was made and the inheritance was signed to Natsue, the Head's granddaughter. Later a Hatamoto family member, Tatsuo, is found dead and Takeshi is missing from the storage room. First appearance of Natsue Hatamoto, Takeshi Hatamoto, and Joji Hatamoto.

After looking in each of the rooms searching for Takeshi, Conan finds the evidence to prove Takeshi's innocence and the culprit guilty. Conan uses Kogoro and proves Ichiro is the murderer and that his motive was because he was in love with Natsue, who became engaged to Takeshi. Ichiro revealed Gozo rejected his proposal for marriage with Natsue and humiliated him. After learning of Takeshi's past, Ichiro murdered Joseph and framed Takeshi In the end, Takeshi talks to Natsue and tells her he planned to avenge his father but fell in love with her and gave up on revenge.

The episode ended with Conan saying that Ai's mother was a "true" angel. Ai receives voice recordings of her mom. At the end of the episode Vermouth is talking on the phone with Calvados.

While at a camping trip, The Detective Boys are surprisingly greeted by Masumi Sera. While the Professor sets up camp and Conan chats with Sera, Ayumi, Genta, Haibara, and Mitsuhiko venture into the woods and come across a man burying a body. While the children run, Haibara alerts the police, and then they hide in a dark cabin, only to figure out it is where the culprit was earlier. To prevent them from talking, the culprit locks them in and sets the cabin blaze. Inspector Yamamura arrives to the scene of the body, and later has three suspects. The only clue is a dying message of her fingers being in an odd form behind her back.

Conan and Sera have figured out the culprit and make him admit it. When Conan asks about the location of the hostages, he says he has trapped them in a hut and set it ablaze. Conan and Sera rush to the scene and the hut are already on huge fire. However, the trapped Detective Boys are finally able to free from the blazing hut with Shiho's help. Mitsuhiko has a chance to record a video about Shiho and send it to Kogoro Detective Agency in hope he can thank her properly later. However, Amuro who is hacking the Kogoro's PC receives the video and watch it and later realizes that someone else is hacking the PC too. From far, Subaru is observing his PC while drinking Bourbon wine. This is the first time Ai turns into Shiho via APTX antidote.

While Conan tries to help make her feel better, a man comes out of a phone booth... Shuichi Akai! Conan gets a diary of a Black Organization contact. Ran and Conan encounter Akai once again as he walks out from a phone booth. He makes a comment on how Ran reminds him of a woman he knows.

Vermouth tells Gin about Sherry is going to ride the Black Mystery Train. Bourbon is sent to eliminate Sherry. On the next day, Detective Boys, Conan, Haibara, Professor Agasa, Ran, Sonoko, Kogoro and Sera arrived at the train station for the ride. Kaito Kid also has announced to steal an expensive jewel belongs to Jirokichi at the first-class car. However, what makes Conan and Sera interested for this is deduction quiz that will be held in the train during the runtime. Detective Boys receive a letter and are told to go to Carriage 7, Room B. They thought the deduction quiz has started. When they reach there, they open the door and found a man is being shot. The shooter run away and they followed him. A train conductor stops them and tells them to go back to their room because the deduction quiz is not started yet. Conan figures out the case become reals but cannot find the victim room due to confusion. Later, Conan and Sera found the victim's room and found him dead with a pistol gripped on his hand and concluded as locked room murder case. Haibara seems already known about Shuichi Akai but still wonders how he get the scar.   The Black Organization has a clue to Sherry's whereabouts and plans to catch her on the Bell Tree Express. Haibara discovers Scar Akai in disguise (Vermouth) Vermouth remembers her promise with Conan not to touch Sherry anymore.

Conan and Sera continue their investigation on the case. Detective Boys want to offer some help but Conan declines with a very serious face. Haibara shocks again when Scar Akai passes by the walkway while keeping his eye on her. They later found Amuro in the train too. Subaru and Yukiko are seen to sneak Amuro from their room. Kogoro arrives at the crime scene and the investigation is continued. Mitsuhiko mentions Professor Agasa that he has sent the camp trip footage to Kogoro in order to know the lady that has saved them. Ran says that she has watched the video with Kogoro and upload it to the internet. Haibara trembles with fear after hearing that. Later, Haibara receives an e-mail from Vermouth asking "Are you ready?". She then go out of the room to take the APTX drug. However, she is interrupted by Subaru. Subaru and Yukiko are seen to have a relation. Subaru seems to know a lot about Miyano Akemi (Haibara's sister).   Gin and Vodka wait at Nagoya for the Bell Tree Express while Haibara senses the presence of the Organization aboard the train itself. Haibara remembers when she heard the recording of her mother relating the APTX drug, which her mother called it as 'Silver Bullet'.

Conan makes a weird request by asking a suspect to run through the walkway. Later, Amuro takes a snap with his phone on running Sera. Yukiko clashes with Scar Akai on a lonely walkway and whispers something that make Scar Akai shocked. Sera meets Scar Akai and fainted by a stun gun. Scar Akai then text to his comrade to go on with the plan. Conan sleeps Kogoro as usual and starts a deduction show. Ran receives a text message from Haibara saying she is alright. Scar Akai checks the guest name list but busted by the train conductor. He apologizes and go to Ran's room to overhear them. He later dumps Yukiko's baggage but busted by Yukiko. Scar Akai's true identity is revealed here as Vermouth and Yukiko tells that her team has taken Sera on their side, has a special guest. Subaru puts Sera properly and smiled when Sera whispers "Big bro" unconsciously. Sera calls Scar Akai "Big bro", which means she is Akai's little sister. Vermouth's disguise as Scar Akai is revealed and she tells Yukiko that the past Scar Akai's appearance in robbery case is disguised by Amuro.   Vermouth contacts Haibara via a text message and Haibara remembers the audio tapes her mother left for her regarding a drug Elena called "The Silver Bullet". Yukiko catches Vermouth wearing a disguise while rummaging through Yukiko's room on the train.

Yukiko continues to speak with Vermouth about a program Vermouth ordered Suguru Itakura to make. Vermouth reveals her trick for exposing Sherry on the train. Sherry runs to the back of the train only to be found by Bourbon. Bourbon reveals the truth behind Scar Akai and plans to trap Sherry in the rear car of the train only to find it's filled with explosives. Just as Sherry closes the door to the rear car, Bourbon is caught off guard by a man who appears to be Shuichi Akai. Vermouth tells Gin over phone that Sherry was killed in the explosion on the train but just as she hangs up she's surprised to see Haibara safe and sound with the rest of the Detective Boys. This is the first time Subaru Okiya opens his left eye and it is similar to Shuichi Akai.   Tooru Amuro claims himself as "Bourbon". Kaito Kid disguises as Sherry upon Conan's request. This is the first time he is facing Black Organization.

Haibara is upset because Conan did not tell her anything about the planning of the past incident. However, Conan manages to make her mood up again. On the next day, Conan, Ran, Sonoko and Kogoro re-visit a tennis court upon Sonoko's request. She wants to become a professional tennis player to compete with Kyogoku and requests Kogoro to prepare a special coach for her. Reaching there, Conan is shocked because the coach is Amuro Tooru. Later, Conan gets hit by flying tennis racket due to a poor player and fainted. After meeting a doctor ina living room, Conan regains conscious and go to bed for rest. As he wake up, he is trapped in a locked room murder case. Amuro stays to work at Poirot even though his true identity is already exposed.

After investigating the case, Conan is going to tranquilize Kogoro as usual. However, he is stopped by Amuro. Conan decides not to make a Sleeping Kogoro show in front of Amuro. He then leave clues to help solving the case. After solving the case, they return home. Amuro speaks with Vermouth via phone. She asked Amuro why he is still investigating about Kogoro even though Sherry has died but Amuro replies, he found an interesting fact about the truth behind The Sleeping Kogoro. Amuro knows the truth behind The Sleeping Kogoro. Bourbon speaks with Vermouth on the phone.

The police had kept watch on all entrances to victim, Hidemichi Mizuki's apartment, only to find him hung with a limited edition chair knocked below his fe Once again Heiji accidentally calls Conan as Kudo, making Ran becomes suspicious. However, he manages to cover it with nonsense lies as usual.

Kazuha identifies this chair, and confirms that the chair's height is 10cm below where the victim's feet would be while hung. After solving the first mystery, the crew begin to exit the apartment building. While waiting for the elevator, third floor resident, Nanami, overhears the detective's talk of Kaizou Fuura, a man who caused the victim to be in large debt, and comments on how her husband, too, suffered great loses due to Kaizou Fuura's influence of investing in the stock market. At that moment, Kaizou Fuura appears from the elevator window shooting himself. Kazuha suggests Conan sleep with Ran and her since Kogoro, Inspector Otaki and Heiji would all be sharing a room and would be cramped for Conan to sleep in, Heiji glares at Conan showing his dislike at the suggestion telling Conan "Watch it, You little pervert."

Kogoro, Ran and Conan are invited to Shizuoka to a famous mystery writer Kaidou Chika's house for an interview on what a detective life is like, however this interview turns into an investigation of adultery as the writer wants to know if her husband and her student find her to be a nuisance, the visit goes on for too long and so the three of them stay the night. When they wake up in the morning, the three residents of the house are dead, each one killed by a different poison.

While been at a café, Sonoko and Ran are accused of stealing a concert ticket to other client. The next day, the client returns saying that someone from the café has listed her ticket on some auction webpage. One of the employees hasn't come to work, so Conan, Ran, Sonoko, the client and another employee decides to go to her apartment to speak with her. When they arrive, they found the door unlocked, the apartment all messed up, and the girl dead.

In a dark room, a thief is frantically looking through an office for something. When he finds it, he smiles and cuts open a bear. The next day, the Detective Boys go to Kumamoto with Ran and Kogoro for a sightseeing trip. Kumamoto is known as the capital of water for its amazing water sources, but it's also known as the country of fire for its volcanoes. The group arrives at the Aso Volcano museum, where Ran bumps into a boy, named Justin Takamori. Ran calls Justin cute, and Justin calls Ran even cuter and winks at her. He then adds tat she is in second place as his mommy, Jessica Takamori is in first place. Justin then shows the kids his stamp book of all the tourists spots he has already been to so far. Conan(Shinichi) finds himself getting jealous of a 7year old child,Justin when he calls Ran even cuter and winks at her, Ai even calls him Conan's rival.

Conan and the Detective Boys are playing soccer when they meet the calico cat, Taii, who frequently comes to Café Poirot for food. They follow the cat into a refrigerated delivery truck where the kids stumble on to a body in a box. The drivers killed the man and are doing their route to establish an alibi as the cold will alter the time of death.

Although the Detective Boys have not been discovered by the delivery men, the cold begins to affect them, as Mitsuhiko even collapses from giving his sweater to Haibara. Conan uses a receipt to write a message and releases Taii from the truck with it stuck in its collar, hoping that Bourbon will find it and realize what is going on. As he has given Haibara his jacket, Mitsuhiko faints from coldness. In order to warm him, Haibara puts him inside the jacket. When he wokes up and realizes that he's sharing a jacket with Haibara (knowing that she's only wearing a shirt and her underwear under the jacket), he blushes.   Bourbon saves Detective Boys from the delivery men, and Subaru is shown watching him suspiciously.
