Howdy![edit]

I'm having difficulties logging into the wiki. ^^;; You can read about it in the below conversation:

Hello there! I thank you for your various edits on this Wiki. Have you considered creating an account? Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 01:20, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Glad you appreciate my submissions so far. I made an account with the forum yesterday, but something is preventing me from properly logging onto the wiki. ^^;; User:skyechan
Hmmm... interesting. Why? What message do you get? Also, if you are logged in to the forum, then you will automatically be logged in to the Wiki. And also, the usernames here are case-sensitive, so if you capitialized something when you registered, then you have to log in with the capitalization. CarpetCrawlermessage me 01:46, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
I log in no problem onto the forum, but the moment I click over to the wiki, I get logged out. Cookies are enabled on my Firefox browser. I forget what the message I kept receiving earlier today was, but now I've apparently tried to log in too many times so I receive this message: "Login error You have made too many recent attempts on this account's password. Please wait before trying again.". I am certain I was typing in my account name and password correctly. User:skyechan
Hmmmm... well, I recommend that you head over to Maurice and leave him a message about it, as it looks like a technical error. CarpetCrawlermessage me 02:03, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Any idea what's going on with my account? ^^;; User:skyechan

Greetings, fellow Conan fan![edit]

Hello there! I see that you have recently created the website, as well as this Wiki. Let me just say, hello there! I am CarpetCrawler, and I am a gigantic fan of Detective Conan! :) I was originally only going to sign up for the forum, but then I saw that you have a wiki, so I felt I had to sign up. :) I have experience editing at the English Wikipedia click here!, in which I have contributed to articles considered "Good Articles," and I contribute at the Simple English Wikipedia, see here. I would be happy to help you in any way possible at this Wiki, as well as join the discussion forum! Thanks for creating such an AWESOME idea, and I hope to hear from you soon! CarpetCrawlermessage me 02:58, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Ooooh, too exciting! :) I'll help out in any way I can. I'm guessing each episode of Case Closed will have its own article? Wikipedia doesn't do that, and I guess it's OK for Wikipedia, but I feel that this Wiki should have separate articles for each episode. Hope to see you again! CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:09, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
OK, that sounds like a good idea! How will the article's be named? Will the first episode's article title be called "Episode One"? Or the name of the actual episode? CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:16, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Sure! That's what I was hoping for, as well. I also think that we should make it so that the english title re-directs to. For example, I can create a re-direct from "The Big Shrink" to "Roller Coaster Murder Case"! It sounds like a plan. :) Tomorrow I'll design an infobox for the use of such an episode article. CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Hey there! Just got back from class. Feeling a little under the weather, so I'm not attending my night class today, so I will see if I can get the infobox for an episode done later tonight. :D Does this Wiki have a sandbox? CarpetCrawlermessage me 18:23, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Hey there! I created a Sandbox page for all users. And about the infobox, I was thinking of something along the lines of this one, just with no writer, director, and guest star section. I don't know exactly how one creates a template on here, though. :-/ CarpetCrawlermessage me 18:40, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
OK, I'll get to work as soon as possible. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:11, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh, OK, so it's just like with the English Wiki. OK. I probably won't be doing much today and tomorrow, because I've become quite sick, so I'll see what I can do when I get better. CarpetCrawlermessage me 20:54, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) I began Ran's page, and did some other general work. I'll try and recruit some people a little bit tomorrow. I know of someone who doesn't have time to spend specific time to work on the Wiki or join the forum, but they said they can answer any questions we have. CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:25, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Feeling much better. :) I'll see what I can do. CarpetCrawlermessage me 23:59, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey![edit]

Haven't heard from you in awhile! I hope all is well. Know of anyone else who could help on this Wiki? CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:10, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, I was able to get in touch with someone who said they will have free time in July. :) I'll do so more recruiting when I can. Anyone at the message board willing to help out? At this point, we really need character bios, which is something people who don't know how to use a Wiki can proably do well. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 21:21, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Also, I created some more articles about characters, and even decently expanded Misao's character profile. Right now I think our goal should be to create basic blank articles for each character, and then filling them out. However, we can also do other things. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 02:10, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Help![edit]

I tried my hand at creating the episode template, but I seem to have some trouble. Could you take a look and see what exactly the problem is with what I'm doing? Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:33, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. :) I've went ahead and created a template for indicating when it's a characters first ever appearance in a series. IMO, we should have a list of regular well known characters that appear in each episode.^^ CarpetCrawlermessage me 23:07, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Episodes[edit]

Great job so far with the episodes! I'm currently at episode 130 of the show, so I decided that after each episode I would complete the article for the episode, while the character info is still fresh in my mind. :) I have a question. For the portion of the infobox where it says who solved the case, are you looking for who Conan had to knock out, or who had revealed who the murder was? Because that's how I've been doing it, I list which character revealed who was the murderer. For example, in Ai's first episode, Conan had Agasa explain the murder, so I said Agasa was the one who solved the case. CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:05, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Ohhh, OK!^^ I will correct them from now on. Also, I have been expanding Misao Yamamura's page as well, for fun, since he's becoming a favorite of mine. He's even worse at being a detective than Kogoro! CarpetCrawlermessage me 22:01, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Movie infobox[edit]

I went ahead and created the movie infobox, as seen here. Feel free to take a look. I didn't know what color to make it, so I decided to go and make it green like the TV one. I for one would like a color other than green, to fully differentate the boxes. :) Feel free to make it any color you wish! CarpetCrawlermessage me 22:58, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm... I haven't heard from you in a long time. I hope everything is OK! I've been editing a LOT on here, though, so you should be happy to see this Wiki's progress, so far.^^ Hope all is well! CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:49, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
OK, suggestions duly noted. ;) Hope everything is well! CarpetCrawlermessage me 17:55, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]

Just thought I'd give you a heads up, the "DC Wiki" logo with Conan doesn't show up in the top left corner on everyone's contributions page. Don't know if this is done on purpose or not, so I'm just giving you a heads up. ;) What's up? I've been doing the same on this wiki, creating episode article as I go on, and editing some character pages. Check out Sango Yokomizo's page! I've done some pretty heavy editing. I've also done some work with Eri Kisaki's page, though it is far from completion. CarpetCrawlermessage me 21:43, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Images[edit]

I now have a program that can take screencaps of videos, so I am going to start replacing all of the current photos with pictures that I will take myself. I'd rather do that than steal images. ;) So far, Officer Tome, Kiyonaga Matsumoto, Tomoaki Araide, and Yumi Miyamoto have images created by me. If you want, I can be the person to search for profile images for everyone. The 60px and 100px images, however, I'd rather not replace. That would be a bit too much of a hassle, IMO. I'd rather focus on replacing all profile images with ones that weren't taken from other websites. It will also help, in my opinion, with making this Wiki unique from other websites. :) P.S., I am going to contact some people who work on DC articles in the english Wiki, and see if they can lend a hand. CarpetCrawlermessage me 23:31, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Also, I thought it would be a good idea to put in the infobox image section of each episode page, the titlecard for the episode. For example, check out this page to see what I mean. CarpetCrawlermessage me 03:34, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Hellos and Chiba[edit]

Thanks, but no, not from Japan, just looove voice acting (and a lot of my favs are in DC). I would like to bring something up however: Although it's true that, like Takagi, Chiba was named after his voice actor (Isshin Chiba), I've never seen or heard him referred to as anything other than Chiba. The Japanese wikipedia even only calls him Chiba while Takagi is called Wataru Takagi. I don't think his full name is officially Isshin Chiba. But that's just to the best of my knowledge, you might've read something I didn't, I just wanted to bring it to yer attention. NakagawaRyou 00:19, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Next Conan's Hint[edit]

What do you want to do about it? Should it be included in the episode infobox or should it have it's own little box with a screencap? NakagawaRyou 18:24, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Sounds okay to me. A couple more questions, though: How much further should I go with Yaiba info (like, should main characters have their own pages and whatnot)? And should Conan and Shinichi have seperate pages? I know they are the same character, but how I'm seeing it is Conan's page could be used to describe how he behaves as Conan and the storyline of the series, while Shinichi's can explain his normal behaviour and his background and past. It's just a passing thought though, I won't lose sleep over it if yer against it. NakagawaRyou 06:42, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Conan[edit]

Today I did a ton of work on Eri Kisaki's page. Feel free to check it out. All it needs is a new picture and it is pretty much fully good. I'll just add more information when I come across it. Anyway, would you like for me to create a separate page for Conan? CarpetCrawlermessage me 20:42, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Voice Actors and Yaiba[edit]

Nah, everything looks good (love the Kamiya pic... love that guy in general, really), maybe get that thing going where putting in the birthdate automatically puts in the current age (if you already did and I just didn't notice, my bad). I started on Yaiba pages. I'll try not to go into too much detail, but I do plan to add more later (right now I'm just translating what the Japanese wikipedia says about them). I also made some categories, let me know if I made one too many or not. NakagawaRyou 05:03, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Anyway you can delete my current Musashi pic so I can upload the better one I found? NakagawaRyou 05:00, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Ah, there we go thanks. And sorry, I tried to make the Onimaru pic bigger, but it's been awhile since I dealt with images on a wiki, so I forgot how to. NakagawaRyou 05:29, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
It's hard to compare as they are quite different. While DC is more realistic and the comedy comes from personalities and relationships, Yaiba is much more gag-oriented, it's more of a comedy series than it is an action manga (although the fights are enjoyable). I personally love Yaiba, which is why I was willing to add info on it for the site. If you like comedic action mangas like Dragon Ball, One Piece, or Ranma 1/2, it's worth a read.
The Magic Kaitou manga is also more comedic than DC and has witches and sorcerors in it. NakagawaRyou 05:40, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Music[edit]

Just wondering, will we ever create a music section? CarpetCrawlermessage me 01:09, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Awesome, thanks!! I'll get to work as soon as possible. CarpetCrawlermessage me 23:30, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Music infobox[edit]

Hey, would you be able to make an infobox for music singles? Like, and have it include a spot where you can put an image of the single, the artist, the year it came out, and its peak number on the Oricon charts? I guess pink would be a good color. Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 17:44, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Knew I'd forget something... would you be able to add a parameter that would tell the reader from what episode to what episode the song was used as an opening or closing theme? CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:14, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Chiba again[edit]

Hate to bring this up again, but before I make a page for the voice actor Isshin Chiba, I want to know what we are going to do about Chiba's name. Once again, I'd like to point out that I have never heard or read the character being referred to as Isshin Chiba and the Japanese wikipedia even refers to him simply as Chiba. It'd be a pain for me to title the page Isshin Chiba (voice actor) and then go back and rename all of the links to the page as Isshin Chiba because we later change our minds to "Nah, his name's just Chiba". This is also the reason why I haven't done many voice cast listing for episodes lately, because he does ALOT of voices on the show. Even though I'm for renmaing the character page to Chiba or Officer Chiba, I can go either way, I'd just like to know which before I make the page and redo links (since most of the cast listings I've done so far are Isshin Chiba as Officer Chiba and such). Thank you for yer time. NakagawaRyou 20:16, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Discussion[edit]

Hello! I have a proposition that I would like to make, that is available here. I would love your input in the discussion. :) Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:04, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Animetoplist.org[edit]

Hey, I just wanted to give you a heads up that I've had someone tell me that one of the sites on the mainpage's "support us" section, animetoplist.org, sets off their McAfee filter, saying it is a dangerous site that breaches its, and its browser's security. Just letting you know now, because that may be a problem... CarpetCrawlermessage me 15:46, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

RE: Login[edit]

Looks A-OK on my end! Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:23, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Anime Season Tables[edit]

I'm having difficulties figuring this out on my own; could we possibly increase the space for the episode titles on the season table? It'd be nice to have more room to make the tables look more uniform down the page. --skyechan

Aoyama's Many Deaths and Conan Side Images[edit]

Could we possibly add two extra little boxes below the Detective and Keyhole images on the manga pages for Aoyama's death images and the Conan side image for each volume? Like the Detectives and Keyholes they change each time, so I think it'd be a nice addition. --skyechan

For the Conan images I don't think it's doable to keep them the 145 x 215 size; it stretches the image a bit too much and if I include more of the scanned image the "Meitantei" part of the title gets in the way. --skyechan
A graphical template might be best since not all of "Meitantei" would be in the picture. Centering the image seems like a better idea. As for the source of my images, I own Japanese volumes 9-62, and then 64 and 65 (missing 1-8 and 63). I also own Japanese Magic Kaito volumes 1-4. I scanned the four Kaito volume covers as well as 9-32 last night. ^^; I'll get around to scanning the rest later. --skyechan
Unfortunately I do not use MSN; the only messenger I use is AIM, which is skyedream75. --skyechan

Magic Kaito Volumes[edit]

I managed to get it right for the most part, but my back image bit keeps covering up parts of the summary text. I realize this is solved by hiding the image, but it'd be nice to not need to do that like it is on the DC manga volume pages. Magic Kaito just doesn't have enough chapters per volume to solve this problem automatically like the DC pages; is there a way to add the extra spacing/lines needed? http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Magic_Kaito_Volume_1-4 --skyechan

I'm also curious why the list isn't displaying quite like the manga page for DC; I thought I did it right... xD;; http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Magic_Kaito in comparison to this http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Manga --skyechan
Sounds like a good idea! I'll resize the back images to 275. As for your question regarding the Omake for volumes 1, 2, and 4, it isn't listed as a chapter, but it's just a few gag comics Aoyama threw onto the back of those particular volumes. (Such as the characters were all actually just actors on a set or something.) --skyechan

Your thoughts[edit]

Your thoughts are very appreciated at the following topic. Thanks! ^^ CarpetCrawlermessage me 22:27, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Total Template[edit]

There are currently 717 chapters of the manga. NakagawaRyou 23:33, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

E-mail that I received[edit]

"Hi, you are a moderator, right?so canyou tell me why can't i start a topic? thanks a bunch.my username is Roy Zhang. display name Kaitou Kid's Kiler" If you want to contact them, their e-mail address is royzREMOVECAPShang1999@live.cn I just figured you'd know how to answer them better than I could. ^^' CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:30, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm... well then if you haven't responded to him, then I'll respond. A screenshot would probably be the best option, IMO. CarpetCrawlermessage me 21:58, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Yamato Wiki[edit]

I wanted to create a Space Battleship Yamato wiki, but some dork beat me to it with the "Star Blazers Wiki" with the regular wiki sites, so now I can't make my own. How did you make this site? NakagawaRyou 08:11, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Cool, thanks! NakagawaRyou 17:54, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
I love how that one Wiki completely stole some of the pictures that I took, re-sized them, and uploaded them. I know that on a Wiki people are entitled to do that, but what's the point of starting up a Wiki now when you could just take your edits and join this one, instead? At this point, competition is pointless. CarpetCrawlermessage me 20:35, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Map assistance[edit]

I kept trying to add some things to the Google Map we have in the Setting page, but everytime I would preview my edit, the map wouldn't show up at all. I didn't know if I was doing something wrong, so I placed the info I wanted to add into the sandbox, and cut out the extra stuff so that you could see the text. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Either way, I would like some assistance. Thank you! ^^ CarpetCrawlermessage me 02:04, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Thank you so much! Love the work you did with the setting page, btw, beautiful stuff!! CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:32, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
This is going to be AWESOME once we can get this done. ^^ Never thought I'd see something as cool as the setting page looks, right now. By the way, I'm about to add a section to the sidebar called "related" and it will take people to the Yaiba and Magic Kaito pages. I figured this would be a great way to get those pages more views, since they're a little hard to find, IMO. I'm also going to at some point add a page called "Gosho Aoyama's Short Story Collection" as some of the OVA's listed in the OVA section are from that collection. What do you think? CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:14, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Calvados[edit]

Many, many thanks for creating the article on Calvados. I kept saying that I would get to work on that, since I'm pretty sure the episode that picture of him shows up is episode 425, but I never got around to doing it. Thanks!! ^^ CarpetCrawlermessage me 03:17, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Upload multiple files[edit]

There used to be a link for uploading more than one file at once. I can't seem to find it anymore. Was it removed? CarpetCrawlermessage me 21:27, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Great, thanks! ^^ I always used it because I usually upload more than one file at once. CarpetCrawlermessage me 00:04, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Vandal[edit]

Good work catching that vandal. I think that's the Wiki's first ever non-spambot vandal, actually! CarpetCrawlermessage me 03:14, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Very true indeed. So, what's up? Catching up on DC recently? :D CarpetCrawlermessage me 03:47, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
I've been good, though college has kept me incredibly busy. :-/ I'm trying to get back into editing on here, though. CarpetCrawlermessage me 01:33, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Odd category[edit]

What does the odd new category at the Clash of Red and Black page mean? CarpetCrawlermessage me 11:53, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Midori Kuroba (?)[edit]

Just out of curiosity, where'd you get Toichi's wife's name from? She was never named in the manga. Is this name from the upcoming anime special? --skyechan

Ah thanks. :3 --skyechan
Discovered the official spelling of Kuroba-san's name (黒羽千影), but I don't think her name is "Midori" after all. I can't seem to find a reading of "千影" that means "Midori". Typing "千影" in Google seems to come back with the name "Chikage". Do we have any way of checking this reading?? --skyechan

A couple of things[edit]

  • Is there a way to create a rollback option for all edits in the history section? Like, for example, if someone makes 4-5 edits that need to be reverted, is there a way to rollback all of them instead of manually editing an older version of the page?
  • Should we create a section on the forum specifically for the wiki? Like, a place where people can report links, post feedback, and we can even post if anything new and interesting has been added.

Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 12:29, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

MSN[edit]

Next time you're online on MSN, let me know, as I have quite a few things that we need to discuss. It's mostly about the wiki. Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 03:09, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Recent Spam Attacks[edit]

If at all possible, we need to have captchas preventing spam from linking to external sites. It might help cut down on the amount of spam we've had lately. --Skyechan 03:37, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Yay! Glad to hear they're stopped. Those attacks yesterday were ridiculous! --Skyechan 18:57, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Mod Status[edit]

Thanks again! I appreciate it. :) --Skyechan 03:09, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

wiki_german_discussion[edit]

Thank you for reading our discussion in the German DC Wiki [1]. I know that the google translator sometimes makes inaccurate translations. If you did not understand some parts, then show it to me (user talk page) and I'll translate it in a way that you understand. lg (best regards) --DcKaito1412 18:04, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Special Volumes Coding[edit]

I'm not sure what on Earth is going on, but on the Detective Conan Special page where the volumes should simply be listed (not the chapters, just volumes ala Manga and Magic Kaito) it's listing everything, including chapters. I haven't the slightest what I did differently and even tried reverting using the information from the Magic Kaito Volume Item template and it still does the same thing. Help? :/ --Skyechan 21:17, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch! It was driving me nuts!! --Skyechan 23:15, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

This is S261157, I understand!

How do you guys earn money?[edit]

I was wondering how you guys earn money and keep this website running. Sorry if this was already asked, and/or if you explained somewhere else, but I was a bit curious. -- Apotoxin4869 20:53, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Videos on Opening/Ending Pages[edit]

I wasn't aware until creating pages for "tear drops" and "Juugoya Crisis", but somebody's added videos again to the Opening and Ending pages. I thought we were avoiding posting such things to avoid another problem down the road? I'll edit the pages to remove the linkage if you'd like, I just need to know our stance on it before I do. --Skyechan 03:51, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Collectibles Infobox[edit]

Thanks for much for all your hard work creating the collectibles box. :) I do need to ask a favor though, we need to edit the box code so that we can have up to 5 (6?) boxes total. I'm attempting to put in the English DVD Season set information in, and each of those sets has 4 DVDs. I can't seem to figure out the code without messing it up, so I'm hoping you can help. Thanks! ^^; --Skyechan 01:00, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch!!! Worked like a charm! :D English DVDs --Skyechan 05:58, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Since you seem to be the person to ask about templates...[edit]

What more do I need to do this template to properly document it? I borrowed it straight from Wikipedia keeping the same name. Chekhov MacGuffin 18:29, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

The Nanatsu no ko article looks great. Nice job! I fixed the link in anokata btw. Chekhov MacGuffin 21:59, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Favor[edit]

Hi, I have a favor to ask you. Could you go to episode 312 and fix the size of Inspector Momose.jpg into 225 x 225? I'm having a hard time to resize it. --S261157 19:07, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

Thank you so much!!!! --S261157 19:41, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

Another Favor[edit]

Hey, I got one more favor to ask you. Could you go to episode 390 and insert Chosuke_Takagi.jpg? You can click the name of Chosuke Takagi and check out his profile picture. Maybe you can copy the profile picture and make it into square or something. --S261157 05:01, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry[edit]

I see, I'm so sorry! Forgive me! I just wanted to make this website perfect, that's all! --S261157 21:52, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Elena Miyano and Atsushi Miyano[edit]

Could you please add Elena Miyano and Atsushi Miyano to the Black Organization template? Chekhov MacGuffin talk 22:41, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Delete a Wiki Page[edit]

Hello Maurice. I edited The Famous Dog's Cool Achievement‎ episode so that all the info is added but i realized that its the wrong Title. So i made a new page correcty named it and replaced it on the Anime Menu. Could you delete the old one? Thanks ~Cheesus~

Oh thank you. Yea sorry about the Spoilers. Didnt know the code and i figured i would use that. will edit it.

links to wikipedia[edit]

Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering what I did wrong because the link wasn't linking. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 21:45, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Canon vs. Non-Canon[edit]

A user has pointed out to me that there is a lack of differentiation between canon (manga based) and non-canon (AOs, movies, OVAS) material across the site. This person suggested that non-canon information be labeled clearly and boxed in each article, with a different colored background. (Or that same different color background for the page altogether if the character/episode/etc. is wholly non-canon.)
I think it sounds like a good idea for the templates for episodes to include a flag for manga based vs. AO which then changes the colors of the boxes. Also the episode listings for seasons would also benefit from a manga based vs. AO flag.
Regarding general/setting/character articles, it will be harder to separate the canon vs. non canon info out, but maybe there should be a MOS directive to put non-canon info in a "non-canon depictions" section or, failing that, always explicitly state if information comes from a non-canon source (e.g. Haibara's cooking ability which appears poor is from an AO case). Featured Article/Song of the week[edit]

Is there any way we can set this up to change automatically? (Or at least have a marking for pages that have previously been featured.)

EDIT: Here are the articles we have already used for "Featured Article".

And here are the songs previously featured:

Orphaned files which need to be snubbed out.[edit]

Assuming I don't have delete powers that I haven't discovered, can I have these images erased? I have already converted them to jpgs. Thanks a bunch! Chekhov MacGuffin talk 22:17, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

I don't have a delete tab (assuming it is by edit and history tabs). I assume this is because I don't have admin powers. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 00:03, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
I don't have page delete power either. Normal users get page move power, but not deletion abilities. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 00:20, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Favor[edit]

I have a favor to ask you, could you go to Episode 57-58 Holmes Freak Murder Case and fix the murder case boxes? --S261157 01:27, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Kyousuke Kazato[edit]

Kazato was the culprit for Captured in Her Eyes. Is that important enough? I mean, Irish has his own page and he is comparable in position to Kazato. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 01:29, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

I'm kind of waffley on the issue. I would have put his info under the CiHE article if I wrote it, but I am not bothered by him having his own article either. It might be good to move his info to the article. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 01:44, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Favor2[edit]

To fix the murder images into one just like EP11-12 Moonlight Sonada Murder Case or EP22-23 Luxury Liner Serial Murder Case or EP39-40 Wealthy Daughter Murder Case. Make 3 murder images into one image. --S261157 21:17, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Pardon me for butting in but I take responsibility for the above. I thought then that there should only be one infobox crime. I have since changed my approach (see Ski Lodge Murder Case). I guess it depends. I don't know.. You, guys, could decide. --lashedcheek 22:28, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Come on[edit]

I think it's more better that part 1 has one murder case box and part 2 that has one murder case box. But on Holmes Freak Murder Case, in part 1 it has 3 murder case boxes and I don't like that! I like the image better on the murder case box on Luxury Line Murder Case. I suggest you should make it like parts 1 and 2 that have one murder case box each. Not Part 1 that has 3 murder boxes. That's just wrong! Come on, can't you do something about it? --S261157 23:09, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Two more pictures to delete[edit]

Episode title profile pictures[edit]

For each of the case articles, the profile picture for the episode is the black and white title screen. Those are incredibly boring and the information can be easily put into text and replaced by a nice characteristic screen-shot. I did that for one episode already. Can I continue to replace those boring title screens? Chekhov MacGuffin talk 03:17, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

So here's my plan. I kind of outlined what I would like to do with pictures using Gingko-Colored First Love as an example. The gallery contains images from this episode that have been uploaded to other pages only for other purposes; I don't condone gallery stuffing for its own sake, but I like the idea of reusing images as long as they have been uploaded. (If the only image in the gallery is the title screen that's fine.) I don't have a naming scheme for the "profile screenshots" yet, but maybe you could come up with a standardized one? Chekhov MacGuffin talk 05:56, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Connection between our wikis[edit]

I dont know, if we already talked about this, but a long time ago, we wanted to connect the german and the english wiki with interwiki-links in the articles.

By now, everything is still the same as it was before, so I asked CarpetCrawler some time ago, who told me, to contact you. So, would it be possible, to link our wikis? That would be great. And i think, it would be the best, if we start as soon as possible.

greetings from germany Philipp S. 15:56, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Maps on the setting page.[edit]

I don't know if it is just me, but the maps on the setting page aren't showing up, although they show up in older page versions. Nothing changed so I am not sure what is going on. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 05:29, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

They started working again so I'm not sure what happened. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 13:38, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Blacklist SJ[edit]

This person, whoever they are, is repeatedly adding the name SJ to List of characters who know Conan's identity and other pages as well. They claim "SJ will be a new character on Detective Conan!" and even that they are representative of Shogakukan. Some of the IPs used so far are:

  • 69.148.237.40
  • 69.148.234.18
  • 65.49.14.12
  • 70.254.202.201

I'm not sure blocking the person would work, (and to their benefit they have good contributions as well) but if it is possible, blacklisting the words "SJ" might be the most appropriate strategy. Frankly I find it depressing someone would work this hard to put themselves or a non-existant character into the DC wiki. I mean is fanfiction not good enough? :P Chekhov MacGuffin talk 04:22, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

I was hoping there was some sort of convenient word blacklisting wiki script because I don't like the ides of page protection. It's not too difficult to revert and a quick search for the target words will reveal if there are any edits. I'm going to stick with reverting till this person gives up. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 02:25, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
User IP 69.150.35.209 decided to delete this exchange just now from both your and my talk pages. I reverted as vandalism, but I didn't bother to give post a warning since the IP changes and this person must check our talk pages and will see that what they did was inappropriate. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 22:51, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
SJ is getting a warning for this: [2]. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 18:38, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
Sorry for jumping in but you blocked him, hes back with this IP: 69.148.232.175 --Cheesus 20:51, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Believe it[edit]

SJ will be a new character on Detective Conan series. Believe it!

Request[edit]

Could you go to Settings section and fix the problem?

May I Have Your Help?[edit]

Gosho Aoyama's Collection of Short Stories

My brain can't seem to wrap around how to get my new infobox template for books to work correctly. Might I have your assistance? (I have information in for the release date, but I cannot see it, and I'm missing the name info at the top of the box.) Not sure how to code it, personally. Thanks!! --Skyechan 03:26, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

Thank you so much as always!! :) --Skyechan 11:03, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Tell Me A Lie[edit]

Should we remove "Tell Me A Lie" from the "Related" navigation box and just merge the article with the Short Stories one? The story has been included as part of the Renewal Edition. I don't really see the need for it to be separated from the others anymore. --Skyechan 21:41, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Revert war[edit]

Seung Jin (as IPs 69.151.4.223 69.148.232.175 69.150.186.104) has been revert warring over the title of an episode despite comments explaining why he is wrong. Please lock the page Season 20 at this edit [3].

If you want to range block the guy IPs 69.148.xxx.xxx - 69.151.xxx.xxx and 70.254.xxx.xxx are the targets. They all trace to Texas. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 05:23, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't make sense[edit]

Please listen to me, if Vegito2010 just put The title called The Victim is Kudo Shinichi, then it doesn't look good when the rest of the titles has first name in a first place and last name in a second place! It doesn't make sense!

The other titles should be given in Japanese order, because those are the episode titles in Japan and there are no dub titles to take precedence. I'll fix the other ones to match. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 23:03, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

M-15 Trailer[edit]

I noticed that the trailer on the M-15 page is still the old one, not to mention it doesn't even work now. I tried to change it, but don't know how. Mind helping out? I tried to ask for help on the forums, but no one has replied, so I decided to take this issue to you. The link for the video in HD is here -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwgOd3R20mc I hope you reply back soon! -- apotoxin4869 21:52, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Another quick question![edit]

I was just wondering, how do you change a person's title page? Like, I just made a page about the new character introduced in chapter 768. You can find it on this page. --> Unknown I named him Unknown because his name was not yet released. Now rumors are spreading and the new chapter will be released soon. I was just wondering how I could change his title name without having to make a new page and copy and paste everything. Thanks! -- apotoxin4869 20:16, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Request[edit]

Hi this is 69.150.34.68 and I have a request for you. Could you go check out Episode 602 The Devil Hidden in the Tennis Court? The People section has wrong sizes of the picture. I was hoping you could tell this user: KogoroMouri, about uploading images into square shape.

Gadget removal[edit]

This user has been taking the gadgets used sections out of various pages. (example). Should I be reverting? Chekhov MacGuffin talk 04:07, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Gadgets removal[edit]

This is 69.150.34.68 and listen, the reason why I want the gadgets to be removed because all the episodes, movies, ovas, TV specials does not have all the gadgets in the Cast section. If you want the gadgets to put in Cast, then do all of them immediately! If not, I'll remove the gadgets from the Cast section. Here's the deal: I'll give you 1 month to edit gadgets in all the episodes, movies, OVAs, and TV specials. Make sure you give this message to Vegito2010. Remember this, I'm no ordinary user. I'm like the character, MCP (Mind Control Program) from the Disney movie: Tron. Remember that, tell Vegito2010 to put gadgets in Cast section in all the episodes. There were few gadgets in few episodes and it doesn't look good. I hope you are ready.

What happen?[edit]

Maurice, what happened? What did 68.93.64.89 say? --S261157 00:40, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

MCP[edit]

Maurice, don't you understand? We don't need any more users. I'm advanced, they're superfluous. But you can be part of me, and together the world will be ours to control! And one more thing, I have a message from 68.93.64.89, he respects to you but not Chekhov MacGuffin because he is indeed a useless user. Soon, you will be useful and you will soon serve to me.

Sorry[edit]

Hi and listen. I just wanted to let you know that I did something wrong because putting Seung Jin is just a big prank and I apologize for everything that I cause trouble. So please let's forget about Seung Jin, the jerk things I said and let's just keep up the good work on Detective Conan wiki. What do you say? - 69.150.187.185

In reverting your talk page back to its former state, I noticed Seung also took out the notification about the spam attacks. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 16:24, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Please[edit]

Could you please remove the Seung Jin information? I'll be satisfied if you do that and let's forget everything about Seung Jin. Please, I feel uncomfortable seeing the information about Seung Jin. I do not want it to be seen on Detective Conan wiki.

And please don't call me Seung, Chekhov MacGuffin.

Messing with Texas...[edit]

The special IP left this lovely message and proceeded to leave a bunch of "f you" messages on random users' talk pages which I reverted. Blocked all recent IPs from this user for a month. Hopefully I did it right. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 19:12, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Lol. I checked a couple of these Ip's that been causing some spam. All coming from texas. Just perm ban IMO. He's just gonna change his IP again so i think you should block the subnet. --Cheesus 19:26, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Template display issues[edit]

In the course of a conversation with User:S261157 about listing two main articles under the law enforcement section of the character page, he mentioned that the main article template when it has two article inputs looks "wrong to him". Basically, ignoring link color, he sees the below two lines as not matching:

Main articles: Law Enforcement and Minor law enforcement

Unfortunately, he was didn't detail what was wrong despite my asking him to explain, so I hope you could provide insight because the main template with two articles listed is used elsewhere. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 23:36, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Come on[edit]

Please just leave the way it's suppose to be? The Main article: Law Enforcement? Please, Maurice-sama? --S261157 23:45, 15 April 2011 (UTC}

Liking it or not liking it isn't the problem here. It's about a template working or not working. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 23:55, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Well let's hear what he has to say? And please do not be rude, Mr. MacGuffin? --S261157 23:58, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

I am not being rude, I was pointing out the reason I was asking Maurice about this in the first place is because you said the template wasn't working correctly. Since you brought it up, I am willing to ask Maurice for a third opinion about whether to have two articles mentioned. I prefer this version [4]. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 00:12, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
My preference is this [5], but I'm not really hell bent on it. I generally like to avoid clickthroughs. I was more worried about why S261157 said the template wasn't working because it's used elsewhere with two arguments. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 03:27, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Help[edit]

I need your help, Maurice-sama. I don't know to create the info box. I'm trying to create the InfoBox Game. Can you go to Games and find this game called Detective Conan and Kindaichi Case Files? Do you know how to create the InfoBox? --S261157 3:35, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Disagree[edit]

Maurice-sama, I disagree about putting all the cast in each parts of Clash of Red and Black. So please could you please remove all the cast of each parts and just put every characters in the cast section just like the other episodes? And also could you please create the InfoBox Game in the game called Detective Conan & Kindaichi Case Files? Please? --S261157 3:35, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

I agree with Maurice here. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 16:21, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Please[edit]

Please, Maurice-sama? Can you remove all the casts each parts and just put the all the characters in the Cast section on top of the Plot section? Please? --S261157 18:35, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Request[edit]

Maurice-sama, could you please go to Detective Conan & Kindaichi Case Files: Chance Meeting of Two Great Detectives game and create the Info Box Game in Template:Infobox? --S261157 23:24, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Thank you. --S261157 2:36, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! THAT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL! --S261157 21:11, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Question[edit]

According to the Snake character, did he really made his first appearance on Detective Conan OVA 4? --S261157 00:54, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Multiple crime infoboxes[edit]

Can I have your input at Holmes Freak Murder Case on having multiple infoboxes? Or better yet, can we set some page standards so we don't have these kinds of style arguments anymore? Chekhov MacGuffin talk 00:05, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

One of the issues is going to be multiple crime infoboxes. Basically this vs. this. We should probably also address when it is appropriate to have multiple cast listings (i.e. Clash of Red and Black or The Crisis Beckoned by the Red Omen). Chekhov MacGuffin talk 00:15, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Wait[edit]

Please, this is much better, please? --S261157 00:36, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Please, Maurice-sama. Can we do one box please? Ok then what about the Hatamoto cruise, Moonlight shadow island, and the wealthy daughter case? Aren't those you shouldn't ignore? --S261157 00:44, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

But[edit]

But I don't feel okay like that. (crying) (sniff) (sniff) Please can I do one box? Like, like, like can you put "You can put one info box and create the series of murder in one picture" in Manual of Style? Please, Please, Please, Please. --S261157 20:50, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Excuse me, can you answer at least? I know we've been through this over and over, but still it doesn't feel right. Can you put "You can put one info box and create the series of murder in one picture" in Manual of Style? --S261157 21:01, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
I like number 2 better because it's possible to put series of crime in one box. I pick that :) So that means I get to change it back, right? --S261157 21:07, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Good plausible reason[edit]

The good plausible reason as to why all the crimes and information should be compacted into one single box? I'll tell you and listen, I believe this will be okay to put one info crime box in each parts, it it's series of murder in Part 1. You can put one box and create a series of murders in one image in one box in each parts. But not multiple crime boxes in one part of the episode. To be honest with you, when I traveled around, I found at least 7 guys who's on Detective Conan Wiki got confused of why there's more info boxes in one part and they don't feel okay about it. Some of them were nervous to edited. I agree with that. They like it better when there's series of murders in one picture in one box in each parts of the episode. --S261157 21:32, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Understood[edit]

(SIGH) Oh okay. Multiple boxes it is then. If that's an order, as you command, Maurice-sama. But it will take some time to change, right? You'll think about it right? But you know I'm okay with this episode, Megure's Sealed Secret. Because in Part 1 has long passages with separate boxes. I'm okay with that. I wish the other episodes has like the way on Megure's Sealed Secret. Well see ya! --S261157 23:12, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

One more thing[edit]

You can turn the protections off those episodes. I promise you that I'll leave it alone. But if you can't turn the protection off, that's okay. If the protection's expired, I'll still leave it alone. A promise is a promise. --S261157 23:25, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
