I think he should definitely be with Akako. It'd be an interesting balance, he's a detective, very logical and reasonable and Akako just bends reality around like a toy with her red magic. (· ∀ ·) And plus they both share common goals to get Kaitou Kid/ Kaito; Hakuba wanting to catch him and Akako wanting to make him fall in love with her, haha;; Gosho needs to continue Magic Kaitou, aghsd.

But if I could have my way, I'd totally have Hakuba go with Aoko and ship Kaito with Shinichi. (But that's just me and I'm a hardcore BL shipper, but I don't mind canon or het ships. (￣▼￣|||) )
