Actually the coat is what saves his outfit. Business men wear trench coats more often than not. I'm not even sure what he wears under. One can assume it is either a sweater or a scarf. I really don't recall Gosho revealing what that is. But it is certainly not a shirt. And if it is a scarf or a sweater (due to it's bagginess) people would assume it comes off whenever he gets to his destination.

As for the Tropical Land thing... You do know that the people who run amusement parks dress in formal attire... I've seen people with formal attire at water parks too. Rare, but not unheard of. You have to think how the average person thinks. You see something out of the ordinary, and almost instantly they try to think of reasons why they saw it. A guy in a trench coat with a guy in a suit at an amusement part, the likely thought it... "They are probably here for a meeting of some sort" and go on their merry way not even realizing that they are there to perform extortion. OR! They think Gin is a body guard for Vodka (which he kinda is in a way), and that is why he is dressed that way. There are more reasons for people to be unassuming of them than for them to be suspicious of their attire. Again, they live in a large city, in Japan, they have likely seen much stranger attire than that. So unless Gin opens his coat and reveals that he is wearing a few blocks of C-4, most people won't think much of his attire.

The majority of people in a city are used to seeing things that are out of the ordinary, and thus don't think twice until they are either threatened or see something they know is not right no matter the circumstance. The BO makes sure that they don't stand out.

This whole thing about them never leaving any evidence really reminds me of Moriarty and his gang. This Anokata makes sure that everyone clean their mess up. Eventually Holmes brings them all down and get their necks on the noose. Similar things will happen in DC.

Also, they wear the coats to hide their over sized bullet proof vests and hats to keep their hair from falling into the crime scenes. Although I doubt that Gin's long hair will be restrained just by that. It could be a wig though.(I'd freak out if I'm right)

I'd say that they are humans in the sense that they're not perfect. For example:

(1) They failed to rigorously verify Shinichi's status.

(2) Gin (and many other key members) failed to consider the alternate non-fatal effects of APTX-4869.

(3) Pisco failed to keep himself "secret" from the rest of society.

(4) Vermouth, despite finding out the truth about the potential side effects of APTX-4869 and identifying its two "survivors," has neither exterminated those survivors nor reported them (or the potential side effects about the drug) to the rest of the orgainzation.

(5) The rest of the organization has failed to press Vermouth about what she knows and/or has done (or lack thereof).

I could go on, but you should get the point by now.

Anyways, back on topic. I believe the BO are human through and through. I believe it was stated that Gin shot himself to keep himself awake when Conan used his needle against him. The BO are extremely intelligent and are very cautious (and paranoid, and suspicious) which is why they rarely leave traces behind. Of course, since it's a manga/anime, they are also unrealistically amazing at escaping. Can't have the bad guys caught too early. X:

And of course everyone knows that Gin has a part-time job as a pizza boy.

I gotta agree with you, except for the pizza boy part. Also, I don't think the idea of BO being anything other than human to go with the series. I mean, the series doesn't have supernatural events up until now, and every thing seems to be explained some how with logic
