  1. NASA's goal will never be to go there though. Not unless we learn how to use Einstein-Rosen bridges (and determine that they are real for that matter) at least without being destroyed at least... However, it is of interest to determine if there is intelligent life on other planets. And theoretically if the planet is a twin of Earth then parallel evolution could have occurred and give insight to our eventual evolution. There are several other reasons, but that is by far the most interesting.
  2. Giving it or receiving it?
  3. Gosho has no say in anything with the anime. He deals only with manga. Which is why the anime screws up so often... And generic names are generic. Misty Mystery was a fairly generic song, and I expect nothing less from this song. (no offense to those who liked it, I personally didn't)
  4. Again, none of them look perfect. I'm pretty sure its a screw up on the part of either Gosho or the Anime team. Which it is, I can't say. However, according to those pictures, I think the last three are as close as we are going to get. I could in theory look through all the different models of E-Series, but that would take forever. But if you would like, you can look through that. I just looked up general from those names. I initially pegged them as E-Series and Transit. Really, they are more of a mash-up than anything, I've never seen any vans that look exactly like those. Not at car shows, not on the streets, not on the internet. The pics I have posted are the closest I have found thus far.
  5. If that is the case, then yeah... Because the 08' model was on its way out and the '09 on the way in. Thus it would be more likely for Yui to have that (cheaper to get an older model than new, and traffic cops don't exactly have the best salary). In order to ID the year we need information on the characters themselves as well. Pictures are not enough. Because depending on the money at hand and where they were, could mean the difference. Satou is especially difficult, because we know she was on mountain passes and interested long before her car appeared in the manga (so long as we can believe what Yui said). Which is why we IDed her car as we did.
  6. Please note, this is WIKI discussion board. The point of this is to identify the cars and find RL and anime/manga pictures of said cars. Any discussions should pertain to that. If you want to discuss how much you like a character's car, please make a thread in the General Detective Conan board. @Balthazar: Nice job on Yui's car. I'm just not sure its 2008. Accords are one of those cars that don't change much, so year is hard to determine. However, I think it was the 2008 model that started that grille design though. If the file came out in 2008 or 2009 then it is most likely 2008. If it came out later 2010 or this past year, then it could be a later model. Btw... Here are some possibilities for the FBI Vans... I know they are Ford... http://www.allenfordhypermarket.com/flash/595x491_Tourneo.jpg http://www.ferrari-insight.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Ford-E-series-31.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/48/Ford_Transit_side_20020526.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/cb/Ford_Transit_front_20020526.jpg/800px-Ford_Transit_front_20020526.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/19/Ford_Transit_rear_20020526.jpg/800px-Ford_Transit_rear_20020526.jpg I think they screwed up the grill for the vans is all... I think the latter two are actually it... the E-series and Transit. I think they put the Transit hood and grill on both though. I think I got the middle and the right side pictures! Ford Transit. Just the grill is slightly off... The one on the far left I think is an E-Series as in the first picture. That has to have regular doors which is in the E-Series... Transit has sliding. The hoods and grills are what is making it difficult. But look at those last three pictures and tell me that the shape, windows, and rear are not all identical to the pictures (with slight variation in scale)
  7. Did you draw your forum sig? If so, it is awesome. If not, it is still awesome.

  8. I don't know, but for some reason I fear the outcome of it.
  9. Considering that it is a base, it is quite good. See if you can't put it through photoshop to smooth it out, and it will look completely first rate.
  10. You know, I don't want to think about it, but this makes me consider the possibility of a DC/Pokemon crossover fanfiction >_>
  11. Why the Pokeballs?
  12. *Checks profile page* ... *Starts doubting validity of profile page* ... Are you REALLY a 13 year old female (aka a teenage girl)??? If so... then... HUZZAH! There is hope for the future! Do you also not like Twilight???? Please say you do hate (or at least dislike) it, please?
  13. Actually the coat is what saves his outfit. Business men wear trench coats more often than not. I'm not even sure what he wears under. One can assume it is either a sweater or a scarf. I really don't recall Gosho revealing what that is. But it is certainly not a shirt. And if it is a scarf or a sweater (due to it's bagginess) people would assume it comes off whenever he gets to his destination. As for the Tropical Land thing... You do know that the people who run amusement parks dress in formal attire... I've seen people with formal attire at water parks too. Rare, but not unheard of. You have to think how the average person thinks. You see something out of the ordinary, and almost instantly they try to think of reasons why they saw it. A guy in a trench coat with a guy in a suit at an amusement part, the likely thought it... "They are probably here for a meeting of some sort" and go on their merry way not even realizing that they are there to perform extortion. OR! They think Gin is a body guard for Vodka (which he kinda is in a way), and that is why he is dressed that way. There are more reasons for people to be unassuming of them than for them to be suspicious of their attire. Again, they live in a large city, in Japan, they have likely seen much stranger attire than that. So unless Gin opens his coat and reveals that he is wearing a few blocks of C-4, most people won't think much of his attire. The majority of people in a city are used to seeing things that are out of the ordinary, and thus don't think twice until they are either threatened or see something they know is not right no matter the circumstance. The BO makes sure that they don't stand out.
  14. You mean to tell me that you never heard of Paul the Octopus????

    What?

There are three in fact (that I can remember)... One for movies, one for episodes and one for AO episodes.

      Ooooooooooooooooh Baltha's a bad boy.

  16. Naw... Bees are cool... Now wasps on the other hand... Wasps are evil, especially yellow jackets.
  17. Chek, remember that disagreement over the root containing DNA? Well according to my Mol Bio professor, it IS possible, but unlikely. There would have to be some living cells in the root to harvest for nuclear DNA, which is unlikely but not impossible. He said it was best to have it from the anagen phase (growth phase)

  18. Fedoras are worn in all sorts of weather. They don't keep the sun out quite well, so they are more for fashion than anything else. As for the sunglasses... Yeah... Sunglasses on a cloudy day is odd in that attire. Mind you, it is still not unheard of. It would warrant a double take, but not much more than that, mainly because most people think either A) they are trying to be edgy or more likely (if they are in formal attire) they have an eye condition that warrants sunglasses even in minimal sunlight. The skintight catsuit was worn by Vermouth on her motorcycle if I recall correctly. That too is not odd if she is on a motorcycle. It is called a one piece riding suit. In a city, it wouldn't warrant a double take lest it was from a guy checking her out. Likely hers is custom as it is all black, but again, none all too strange for a serious female rider. It not only protects them, but shows off their body, a win/win for female riders. Gin's only problem is his hair. It is too long no matter the standards. I have seen business men that wear similar clothes to Gin that have long hair, but no longer than just under shoulder length. Perhaps it is because I live in a huge metropolis (much like Tokyo where I believe DC takes place, just in a fictional prefecture (I think)), but really... The BO don't wear anything ostensibly out of the ordinary that would make people think of them oddly, especially not considering they have places like Harajuku (especially this one), Shibuya and Shinjuku (both of these are nightlife areas) in Tokyo. What everyone fails to realize about metropolises is that you are exposed to EVERYTHING even, and possibly, especially, in Japan. You get desensitized quick and learn to write off oddities. I mean... Just look at THIS Granted that is in America (and one of my personal favorite street performers) but Japan probably gets its share of weirdness that allow them to tune out any oddities that may strike them.
  19. Really? Have you ever been to a major city before? I see people dressed all in black ALL the time. They are called "business men." It is the same in Japan I'm sure. It isn't like their attire is all black and not clean or strange looking. To any person they look like business men who like to wear fedoras.
  20. Almost anything by Osamu Tezuka and Naoki Urasawa. Though I have to say Doraemon was amazing. But I'm a Tezuka and Urasawa fanboy. They are (or were in the case of Tezuka) both amazingly brilliant mangaka. I'm sorry Gosho, you are good, but you have nothing on these two.
  21. The notes are only for anomalies (like alternate names) or further explanation (like with Japanese exact translation). Most of those are simply direct translations of "Detective Conan." If you want to c/p that go for it, but it would be pretty pointless imo.
  22. My friend and I had a theory (read "joke" ) that Shinichi and Shiho were actually aliens, and that is why they are super intelligent and were merely shrunk by aptx and not killed by it. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
  23. Where does it say this? And you do know that is impossible right...? The maximum score on an IQ test is 200... So if that was printed somewhere it was likely a typo on the part of the scanlators or of the part of Gosho, but I'll go out on a limb and say it was scanlators. BTW, I would have said, about 2-3 years ago I like Kid because his episodes and cases are entertaining, but now I can no longer say that... Though I suppose those episodes are still entertaining, but now... I don't know... They aren't the same (the new ones I mean). *Resumes reading Maurice LeBlanc's work*
