  1. Shinichi likes them. He's somewhat impressed with their determination in solving some problems. But, he's also annoyed at the same time whenever they are doing foolish things that somewhat leads either themselves (including Conan) or the lives of other people around them. I generally don't see Shinichi hating these kids After all, they're still little detectives that sometimes give Conan helpful hints in solving crimes.
  2. If it is really either the two of Shinichi's parents, I would be really shocked. I think, though, that Aoyama wouldn't go that far of an idea, a parent-child match wherein Shinichi will try to bring down his parent's organization.
  3. It's hard to believe that Shinichi is hiding his real identity to the people around him just because he knows he can defeat the BO by himself and doesn't need the help of these people. He is hiding his real identity because HE DOESN'T WANT OTHERS TO BE CONCERNED OF HIM. Why? Because when they start to care for Shinichi, then that will be the start of their involvement in stopping the Organization. We all know how dreadful the Organization can be. Just use the scene where Ran saved Haibara from Vermouth and Calvados. Even though Ran doesn't know what she's in, she still saved Haibara because she knows she needs to. Imagine if it's Gin or other BO members that are there in place of Vermouth, Ran might be dead by now. Shinichi realized this from the start. Thus, protecting his identity from those around him is important. Because it is also for THEIR SAFETY, not for boosting Shinichi's ego.
  4. Are you referring to this part?
  5. Oh, so that part of the car is it's good. I though Kir is just facing a bit diagonally towards the window of the vehicle, that's why I thought the camera on her neck could still see Akai's body. I see. thus, the wiki is really right after all. Thanks for the heads up, Check! NOTE: For all those who watched the anime part of this story arc but haven't seen the manga yet, you're missing almost a half of your life (of course, I'm exaggerating  ). Some scenes in the anime doesn't match with the manga. And we all know that manga should always be the 'reference', rather than the anime. The picture above (Kir setting up the bomb) already tells us the difference between the anime and manga.
  6. Vodka is important to the Black Organization. Why? It is already presented at the very first episode of DC. the amusement park deal that Vodka initiated was at the brink of failure, with Shinichi noticing the deal. Of course, Gin did hit Shinichi on his back and made him take the 'incomplete detective' medicine Gin has. After that, we can notice that the person that Vodka's dealing with ran off. Knowing BO being a confidential organization, letting that old man run away would be dangerous. With all the murder Gin did to his co-members (Pisco, the two accomplice of Miyano Akemi in the billion dollar case, etc.), a failure that Vodka did must have resulted to him being silenced. But gin didn't killed him. Why? We don't know. But, for a certain reason, this proves that Vodka is somewhat important to the organization.
  7. I would like to add these information on the fake death theory of Akai Shuuichi. First of all, it seems that it is too much coincidence that Kusuda Rikumichi and Akai Shuuicihi's hair on the back is identical. And if you read the chapter 609 of the manga, after Akai was shot to the head by Kir, the only part of his face showed was the right side of his face and the longback hairstyle he and Rikumichi both have. That's why the replacing-Akai's-body-with-Kusuda is very possible. I have to question, though, the information stated in the Akai faked his death theory page on Wiki. The part where it is stated that "When Rena is fiddling with the small bomb, Akai places Kusuda Rikumichi's body in his place. He exits the truck when Kir leaves." IMO, it is more feasible to think that Akai only replaced his body with Kusuda's when Kir was finished putting the bomb in his car. Why? Because after she put the bomb in his car, that's the time when Gin and Vodka went away from the scene. Meaning, by the time Kir is entering his car and is going for an escape act, that's the only time that Akai can move, not when Kir is still fiddling the bomb. It is because Kir's camera is still pointed on Akai's body, which is seen by Gin and Vodka from their vehicle. 30 seconds is more than enough to exchange his body with Kusuda's and get out of the car. I suspected the weird placement of his head from facing left to facing center in the next scene (as scene in the manga only, not the anime) as a sign that Akai is alive ONLY, but doesn't signify that it is already Rikumichi's body. I got curious too on Conan's real intention on why he wanted to see the FBI for the last time before they get out of the hospital. But, after hearing that Akai can't be reached, decided not to go. Was this part of the plan? Did Conan and Akai intended to see and talk to each other for the last time before their expected assassination order that anokata and Gin will ask Kir to do? What will they talk about, if ever? I already have a theory in my mind on what Conan meant for the "live-and-die" phrase. More likely, Conan meant that before they can get into the main part of their big plan, Akai must be able to survive a certain. More likely, he meant that Akai must be able to get through faking his own death successfully. Meaning, being able to make Gin and the whole BO (except for Kir) believe that he's already dead. Lastly, I would like to further support this claim by stating that FBI probably kept Rikumichi's body and his car because if the Japanese police got the custody of these, they would be suspicious of what happened, and the background of this guy. We all know that if you're a BO member, it's either your personal information is altered or there's very limited information at all. If the police found it odd for Rikumichi to have incomplete or very little details, more problem will arise for FBI in hiding their identity and concealing their true aim in going to Japan
  8. What's making this theory near-impossible is that these two are close to Shinici/Conan. And actually, they are one of the persons whom Conan trusts. He wouldn't be that ignorant for him not to notice something between this two. But who knows, maybe these two are really above excellent in disguising.
  9. Of course, many of our intellectual DC fanatics have already deduced on how Akai, Conan, Rena, and Camel (let’s include him, he’s important to their plan too) pulled off a very sophisticated plan to get information from the Organization, as well as the big part of this plan, to fake Akai’s death. But, let me share to you my own piece of opinion about this. There could be some loopholes still, but after reading/watching the manga and the story arc respectively, I came up with this theory. It all started in EP 497, the part where Conan and Akai talked in the hospital’s rooftop, the conversation went like this: Conan: But you know, when I saw you, I was thinking, just maybe you were thinking, exactly what I am. Akai: Oooooooh.. Then, we all knew what happened next just by watching the flashback in EP 500/reading the manga which somehow relayed EP 500 showed. The key here is that Mizunashi Rena was impressed on Conan. With all the deduction he relayed from how Rena knew he was lying on that shoe thingy, to the critical life-saving tactic her father did to her. Knowing that Kir is continuing her father’s mission, we can safely say that she’s doing an Akai-as-Rye 2.0, in her part, Rena-as-Kir (no need to elaborate this one). Then, those three inside the room agreed on the critical part of the plan. Akai will fake his death, with the help of Kir. Knowing how intelligent Gin is, I assume that they already thought of him being suspicious of how she escaped the FBI so easily, and eventually may ask her to kill Akai to prove his loyalty, which really happened. Part of the plan on which I think they made obvious is the three-van tactic of James Black. They were clearly aware that Gin would not fall into the trap of following the van that Akai followed. They said in the series that they have done this because they intended in the first place to get Kir back to BO. The hidden truth behind this plan, IMO, is that they wanted Gin to be suspicious of this move and question Kir’s loyalty. This is the new part of my analysis after going back to the story arc. I thought that this critical plan of Conan, Akai, and Kir revolved around what Kir’s father did. We saw how Gin was suspicious of how Kir entered the Organization. To freshen up our memory, Vodka said that that anokata let Kir join the organization because of the escape act he did in that warehouse, by killing that agent, which they don’t know is actually Kir’s father. With all this, Conan and Akai may have thought that anokata, and eventually Gin will test Kir’s loyalty to the Organization once again by ordering her to kill Akai, whom the Organization think is the “Silver Bullet”. They thought that if she can pull this kind of act once again, she’s really on their side. For short, my deduction is that they used the same trick Kir’s father used to keep Kir within the Organization for the same reason, to uncover important information about them. This time though, Akai acted as her father. But this time, they faked his death (hoping that Akai is still alive  ). The faked death plan was also made possible by the fact that Gin and Vodka never went to the scene personally. And we all know the famous theory Kir pulled to fake Akai’s death. Another part of the series that made me think that they actually planned to fake Akai’s death is when Conan said to Akai when they entered the room, “Well then, in this match that’s live-or-die. Are you willing to try it?” In this statement, I don’t think this is only about letting Rena go back to the Organization, but as well as him faking his death. The “live-or-die” phrase could be a good evidence to this plan, though I cannot explain it well right now. Because it’s still hard to connect it to each other, if ever those are really connected. Lastly, the symbolic message of Akai: “To think you have gone this far…” with a smile/smirk. In my own perception, he meant this to somehow congratulate Kir, as she managed to survive a lot of threats to her life, including her joining the Organization. We can also attribute this to a lot of near-impossible missions she handled. From forcing her to act like she killed her own father, to keeping secrets of her being an NOC within the organization, up to entering another complicated mission, to fake a man’s death. P.S. I would really be disappointed if ever Akai is really dead. Because, I’m sure they’re not too lame not to think that Gin will be suspicious of Kir’s escape. But, I’m pretty confident he’s still alive because of Conan’s “smirk” when he heard of Akai’s death. And I really thought it’s a bit suspicious of Conan not to be deeply saddened, disheartened, or even shocked on Akai’s death, as what is shown on any plot-related episodes after the story arc. Goes to show that either he expected this already (as part of the plan) or he’s too confident that he can do it even without Akai’s assistance (which I don’t believe because I think that Conan is treating Akai as a big help of him beating down BO). Gosho Aoyama has really made DC an interesting anime with this kind of plot. No wonder, fans like me who are in for a thrilling, action-packed anime are very excited to see what’s next in this series. So please, MORE PLOT-RELATED EPs!
  10. I will be a rich teenage kid who is a son of the owner of a big company. And my father is somewhat connected to the FBI (an informant or a friend of an agent). I will become a friend of Conan and eventually, I will help him in uncovering the mysteries of the Black Organization. I can also become a Professor Agasa 2.0 (cool items and gadgets for Conan).
  11. I definitely agree with A J M. It's not like Gosho has gone too old to present a thrilling case already , but we just got better in deducing his cases. LOL 600+ episodes is more than enough for us to get even a little bit of what kind of cases he is doing. Nevertheless, I think easy cases are present whenever DB are involved. However, when Sato and the police department are involved, it's kinda more complicated.
  12. I re-watched the Head-to-Head with the Black Organization episode (the 2 and a half hour special). During the last part, 'Anokata' mailed Vermouth while she is with Conan in a car inside the forest. The message went on like this: "It would have seem that I have given you too much freedom this time Return to my side now, Vermouth" I'm really trying to get some hint in this one, but it seems that it's just a plain message that can be sent by anyone to Vermouth. Dang! It's just so mysterious. Who the h*ll is the boss?
  13. ^ You're like Shinichi when he and Ran confronted Vermouth in disguise in America. For me, my favorite is the opening song during the best story arc of DC, Opening 22.
  14. Really interested in this M-16. I'm expecting this to be a big movie. My DC mind wants this plot to happen: A foreign football player is playing for a Japanese football team (and obviously, it must be Shinichi's favorite team, forgot it's name though). But, he didn't know that as he was flying to Japan, he ran through a notorious syndicate's important files in the airport, which is in a bag. As always, Conan will meet this player. He will experience some threats and eventually realize that he exchanged his bag that has an important file. In their final game, the syndicate has planned to get the file back and eventually kill the player. They decided to bomb the whole stadium as well (just to spice up the movie  ). And now, it's up to Conan to stop them! 8-) Never mind. I'm just too addicted to DC.
  15. Just watched it earlier. Very good, I must say. The best part of the film is whenever Conan is with his skateboard/snowboard. It's just too good to be true for him to pull of those back flips and a masterful job of maneuvering through the forest during the last part. And of course, his escape act from the dam that is about to be destructed. Super cool!! The scene where the title of the movie, Quarter of Silence, made sense, I was really touched by that part. And very symbolic of Ran calling Shinichi when she's lost all hope, but actually, has saved Conan's life. Thanks to his handy dandy phone. I agree, the case was a bit off. Could have been more exciting had the antagonist wasn't just one person (secretly hoping for a BO movie come movie 16  ). The DB scenes? Quite annoying, but Ayumi is so cute, so, I can forgive that. Haha Lastly, that AiCon thingy in the snowboard. I was hoping Ai feels something because of that. But, oh well, I guess she already has a long time ago already. 7.5/10 for me
  16. AFAIK, Kaitou Kuroba's dad wasn't killed by a BO member.
  17. The uniqueness of its concept. Most animes are all about battle scenes that seem to end for about 10 episodes LOL. In Detective Conan, it urges me not only to watch, but also to THINK and OBSERVE. I'm sure everyone of us tried to solve faster than Conan at least one of the case he encountered in over 700 episodes that we have witnessed already. And I found it really cool. Not to mention its great plot. It just keeps me on watching and watching the series until all the mysteries surrounding the plot is solved.
  18. I actually like both Shinichi and Conan, although I'm more bent on seeing Kudo for the sole reason that Conan has more appearances than him in the series.
  19. ^ Maybe if Aoyama can somehow involve him with Conan fighting against BO.
  20. About the Japanese culture, I also enjoy it, even if I'm a Filipino. Especially whenever they show different places and practices.
  21. I always thought if it was possible that Conan can travel to other countries, stay there for a while, and solve cases. He could be left there for a while due to some unfortunate events and luckily find a person who is capable of understanding his situation and capabilities. He will stay with that person for a while as he face some cases in unexpected times (as usual). Imagine, Conan solving cases in America or in Europe. I also thought of BO being an international organization. And as if it wasn't a coincidence, Conan will unexpectedly face these foreign members and encounter a "Gin-like" BO member. That would be freakin' awesome! These things, though, may hinder this idea: > Not all Americans, Europeans, or whatever nationality they have can speak Japanese. And we all know that it would be very unrealistic if all of the foreign people Conan encounters knows how to speak Japanese. > It wouldn't be realistic, too, to leave a child like Conan (ran and Mouri doesn't know he's Shinichi after all) to another country. What's your take, guys?
  22. ^ I just watched the Last Wizard of the Century movie, and I think it was great too. The suspense on revealing Conan's secret, his true identity (which didn't, but almost, happened  ). The story itself was great too.
  23. > The fact that all the characters in the series don't seem to age. > No more brutsl/gruesome episodes/cases. I loved those kind of cases before. That's all. I don't mind the other booboos DC have.
  24. And it's a little bit weird to have a very kind daughter if you're a boss of a syndicate.
