Ah, this is where this topic went! Disappeared on me for a few months. I've finished the first Ace Attorney game and am almost done with Justice for All. I was working on the last turnabout when my game froze while saving and now I have to start from the beginning of the turnabout and do everything all over again! Extremely frustrated considering I had gotten really far... Oh yes, but I adore the series. Wish I had started it sooner, and I'm not sure why I didn't take the hint from the occasional references I saw on this site over the years. I even have an Ace Attorney t-shirt now! I'll probably finished the main trilogy, Apollo Justice, and that Investigations spin-off before school starts up again. As for Dual Destinies, I'll buy that once I get my 3DS back from my parents......

Was thinking of bumping this thread up, before realizing I have absolutely no idea what games are trending right now. I don't play app games at all, but from what I can gather the hype for 2048 seems to be dying down. As for actual video games, I can't say there's anything people are getting really into. E3 wasn't too long ago, and I know a lot of people are now looking forward to games coming out in the future. I'm a Nintendo fanboy myself, and my profile pic and signature speak for themselves. We'll see what starts to trend once the holiday season rolls back around...

My god, this is like one of those Proustian experiences or something (oh, no never mind, Wikipedia says not really). The first preview video of the previously announced special that will air to celebrate the manga's 20th anniversary has aired. You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te4mslUQtr8 The special appears to be a collaboration between Gosho Aoyama and scriptwriter Kenji Uchida, who directed the comedy film Kagi Dorobo no Method. Kenji is also a self proclaimed Conan fan. Yasuichiro Yamamoto, who has been in charge of all the DC movies from 15 onward, will direct this special. It is slated to air on Friday, December 26th 2014.

I expected a darker song considering the title. Well, there were Black Org scenes at least, which I always like. I swear though, this is like the 20th opening or ending with all the 100% good guys running through a grassy field and the 10th opening or ending with their destination being a tree. There were also a lot of really lazy animations. In fact, apart from the running and the skateboarding, everything else was pretty much just pictures with special effects. The opening itself felt kind of fragmented, especially with Conan shooting at nothing and a bunch of other scenes that were drawn out and extended for the sake of filling up a minute and a half of "animation." Considering there are rather massive gaps between openings now, I'd expected for there to be more effort put into these. Ever since "tear drops" (the disaster that was opening 30), the animations have been on a downward spiral.

This isn't looking so good... Chapter 901 will be titled "Mate", calling it now.

Shukichi and his eyes and his glasses and his penchant for pretty women with long hair is reminding me so much of Eisuke, especially considering we're practically tapping chapter 900 on the shoulder. Also, hype for Sera's "sister", who appears sickly as ever (??). If Gosho pulls the trap card, I might cry. Prediction: The Chiba x Naeko super lovey-dovey couple save the day in order to develop two relationships in one arc and reduce the ever growing need for non-BO related chapters.

It has been announced that the new opening for Detective Conan is titled "Greed" and will be performed by KNOCK OUT MONKEY. It will first air with episode 744 "The Rainy Bowling Alley (Part 1)" on June 28th.

Kaoko is back?!?! And that was a really well made AMV. I've always liked the ones that used creative effects to make the anime seem like something it's not.

Perhaps Conan just happens to run into thieves in a museum that Kid is planning to also steal from? Or maybe a bunch of security guards and police conspire to steal a painting during a pre-planned Kid heist and use the confusion to their advantage? Apparently, there is one of Van Gogh's sunflower paintings in the Sompo Japan Museum of Art. Though there doesn't appear to be any jewels there, maybe Sonoko's gramps decides to use that building as a place to lure Kid out with some ruby from Cambodia, or something. This is seriously just turning into a tower of assumptions now. Honestly though, throw in a bomb threat too, and now there's a tri-faceted mess of a transition movie between the big 18 and the bigger 20.

I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but I'm going to make a bold prediction. However, this prediction is only valid if the sunflower does indeed refer to Van Gogh. I think the next movie will be a Kaitou Kid film about an art museum heist focusing around Van Gogh's works with visual arts as a major theme. Generally, every recent movie can be given a theme: M-11 is pirates, M-12 is music, M-13 is BO, M-14 is airship, M-15 is snow, M-16 is soccer, M-17 is battleship, and M-18 is Akai. It wouldn't surprise me if they decide to use visual arts (painting, sculpture, photography) as the theme for M-19. The only way I can imagine them pulling this off is having the crime be a major heist at a museum, which is something that fits the DC formula but also leaves a lot of room for fresh ideas. Furthermore, we haven't had a Kid movie since M-14 and it's about time he shows up in one. Not to mention museums have always been Kid magnets. As for a movie title, I think there may be a pun on the word "frame" (picture frame and framing a criminal). I wouldn't be surprised if I'm right, but I'm basing a theory on a major assumption so I wouldn't be shocked if I'm wrong either.

I'm trying to think of how sunflowers could be used as a central focus of a mystery, though I haven't come up with much. - some reference to Van Gogh, much like movie 3's Rasputin references - somehow using the heliotropism misconception (I'll take Wikipedia's word for this one) - finally bringing math into the series by utilizing r=a+bθ to find the equations of a sunflower's seed spirals These aren't even legit theories, just some things I felt like putting out there. As for a title, maybe Golden Ring of Black? Apart from sunflowers there's nothing to go off of, so you'd be hard pressed to guess even close. Who would have guessed Full Score of Fear after seeing a quick clip of a pipe organ?

Even though no major recurring characters are ever killed off, I wouldn't mind having Kir executed by Gin. This is not because I don't like Kir, but only because I feel like we need to have the BO appear at least a little more ruthless before we start wrapping up the series. It would also counteract the fact that Shuichi has returned and all those warm bubbly feelings that come with that.

Hm, the chapter wasn't as great as I thought it would be. But then again, we're not even at chapter 900 yet, and the Mystery Train arc didn't even line up with a x00 chapter, so maybe Gosho is still planning some major reveals in the coming months. Chapter 900 predictions: We're going to get a chapter involving Bourbon, Shuichi Akai, Masumi Sera, the little girl in Sera's room, the Akai middle brother, Kir, Eisuke Hondou, all the hardcore Black Organization members, a new code-named member (Fernet?), and ANOKATA!!! Oh, and Conan and Haibara will both have to grow back into young adults, and there's no sign of the Detective Boys. Gosho will then take a one month break.

I almost want to get myself banned to be a member of the Black Org. Love those guys. No seriously, this is great. I almost forgot we even had that topic created all those years ago.

Apologies for the double post, but it seems Detective Conan themes never get much love... According to the wiki, the episode that aired today was episode 737 titled "The Suspicious Walking Path", but the ending uses scenes from episode 738 "Kogoro in the Bar (part 1)" which isn't supposed to air until May 10th. Is the wiki wrong or am I missing something? Anyway, in regards to the actual ending, I thought it was pretty good. It's ShinRan of course, and there are some As the Dew vibes (in regards to the animation, not the song), and AKIHIDE does a pretty good job with the vocals.

I haven't tried accessing DCW by mobile in about two years, but last time I tried the forum and wiki were formatted much like Wikipedia was. I had never tried editing anything though, so maybe that's still an issue? Of course, in the long time since I last checked maybe the mobile site was even taken down? I'm mainly just thinking to myself out-loud; don't quote me on anything because I honestly can't remember much. I am only certain that there was a mobile version of the site working for at least some time. Maybe a moderator can tell you more.
