  1. I've been following Accel World ever since it started airing and I have to say it's definitely not bad. Considering the general lack of absolutely amazing anime shows this seaon, I'd say Accel World makes my top five list, but never exceeds number three. It's really hard to explain how it's bad or good. You just have to watch it and see how you like it. I recommend watching at least the first episode, just to get a taste of it. Of course, I'd say Hyouka still beats this anime easily.
  2. Welcome to DCW! *waves back* (... even though I'm not from DCTP, eh heh...) Hope you have a wonderful time here!
  3. As I like to say: You're never too old to have fun!

  4. Alright, Johto! (we don't seem to be going in any order...) Only two come to mind: Tyranitar and Umbreon. Tyranitar for its pseudo-legendariness and all the great move combos that come with it (I prefer using it as physical wall), and Umbreon for its pretty darned good ability to stall. Johto as a whole doesn't really have much to offer (100 new Pokemon, so I won't count any Pokemon from Kanto), though I guess a few honorable mentions would be Scizor and Skarmory. I just haven't used them myself personally, so they aren't "my" best Pokemon in Johto, but I hear they're both a force to be reckoned with.
  5. Ha, that in itself does sound fun.

  6. @Ranger: Agree with you. I've caught myself up with Sakamichi no Appollon's aired episodes and I agree it's good. I've seen much worse but I've also seen much better. It's an okay anime that has a lot of potential for an amazing ending, but it also looks like it might run the risk of being a waste of time. If it ends great, then I'll give it all the credit it deserves. And also, yes, Hyouka is absolutely amazing. Best art I've seen in any anime in a really long time. Probably the best art I've ever seen, hands down. It's a great anime with an amazing atmosphere. I have high hopes for Hyouka. I'd probably either rank it first or second for best anime of this season. @mabel: Eh, I've watched all the aired episodes of Medaka Box so far, but it's nothing special. I personally would rank it average at best. There's no hope for an awesome ending, I'll tell you that. It's not even that great to watch whenever you have free time. You'd be better off watching another anime. But that's just my opinion. Medaka Box is also one of those animes where you either love it or hate it, so it won't hurt to try it. I've also watched Tasogare x Otome Amnesia, and I'd rank it only a notch higher than Medaka Box.

    hi all

Hello! Nice to meet you! I hope you have a great time here! Enjoy your stay at DCW and feel free to post your works!
  8. Welcome! Have a great time here! I'm sure you'll meet and make friends with a lot of other DC fans around here.
  9. Sometimes that's the best way to spend your birthday, isn't it? Having crazy parties and celebrations is exhausting in my opinion, ah ha.

  10. My god, E3 2012 is less than a month away! How did I let it sneak up on me like that?

  11. Hmmm, if both you guys recommend Kids on the Slope (Sakamichi no Apollon) I might give it a try. I've seen it mentioned a few times and I remember thinking of giving it a try, but I never got around to it. I have so many other anime shows to watch. I'm already watching 7 for this 2012 spring season and if I start watching Sakamichi no Apollon that'll bring the number up to 8. But heck, the first episode aired on my birthday. It has to be a sign. I'll watch the first episode when I find time and see if I like it.

The Marie Antoinette Syndrome. Not the political term, but rather the medical term. Here's the Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Antoinette_syndrome It's not much, but it explains it in enough detail.
  13. Okay, translations for the file came out. Things are really picking up the pace, so that's great. And finally, we have suspects! Just three guys, nothing too out of hand or complicated, though there's not much to go off of right now. All of their reasons for being at the campgrounds seem legit enough (even the guy who said he was taking pictures of the azaleas doesn't seem suspicious because he's right about orange azaleas blooming around early May). If I had to just pick a guy based on what we have so far, I'd pick Yonezumi Hayamichi, the part-time worker. I'm only suspecting him because of three main reasons: his age, his hair color, and his occupation. He's around the same age the lady, so it seems more likely that they would know each other. He just says he's a part-time worker, but isn't very specific. He could possibly work at the same day-care the lady worked at (though thinking about it now a guy like him probably wouldn't get along with children well). And finally his hair color. If Yamamura is right about the dying message (ha!) pointing to the woman's older brother, then his physical appearance would most likely support this theory. That's just what I think so far, but heck it's so early into introducing the suspects it's hard to make any solid opinion. I don't know why I failed to mention this earlier, but Gosho has another case in a forest again. Oh joy, forest symbolism in literature. I could go on and on about the devil and the BO, but I won't. It's pretty self explanatory anyway. And as for the "mystery" woman with the ax at the end, it's so obvious I don't even have to say anything.
  14. No problem! Hope it was a blast!

  15. Hello and welcome! It's very nice to meet you! I hope you enjoy yourself here and help to contribute and expand this ever-growing site.

  17. Have a very happy birthday!

  18. Finally found the time to watch it. Really nice stuff this time around, as expected. Mouri Kogoro is back to his good old antics again, Heiji and Kazuha got a respectably sized portion of this special, and there were nice Shinichi and Ran scenes that didn't feel too forced at all. The adaptation of the plane case doesn't take up too much time and is well paced, so it didn't get in the way of the enjoyment at all. The new mystery was pretty good. Not the most shocking case like the last special was and, in my opinion, not as emotionally moving either, but it was realistic. Every actor and actress held their own and the scene directing is as familiar as it's always been with live-actions. Music is phenomenal, as always. A heard a few familiar compositions that were in the last special and in the thirteen short episodes that aired last year as well as a few remixes and (I think) a few new scores to add to the atmosphere. They decided to change the ending theme song again, and it's really good. Still not too pleased the theme song from last year was never released as a full version, so I doubt this new theme will either. They're both such nice songs, too. Anyway, I give this live-action special a 9/10, because it's exactly what I expected and hoped for. Hope they decide to make a fifth one soon! EDIT: Oh, and for those wondering, the theme song is sung by yu-yu (thought her voice sounded familiar) and is titled "桜唄" (Sakura Uta) which quite simply translates to "Sakura Song". If you watch the live-action special, you'll see the significance immediately. After a quick search online, this is the only version of the song available: Let's hope for a full version!
  19. Excuse me for double posting, but a week has past and a new short trailer has been released: A bunch of new scenes, mainly of Conan doing crazy life-threatening stunts. Oh, and the score is now 1-2, for those keeping track.
  20. Have a wonderful birthday!

  22. Unfortunately, I have only been able to find a poor quality version of the ending as of right now. Watch it here: http://www.bilibili.tv/video/av260783/ As the day goes on, hopefully a better version of it will surface on some website. I can't judge the animation too much, only because I can't really see it that well, but the song isn't too bad. Do I like it? No. Do I hate it? No. It's just average. It could have been a whole lot better (there have been some really nice endings this anime season as a whole), but I'm not really complaining. After all, it's just an ending. What the next opening turns out to be is of more concern to me. EDIT: A good quality version of the ending has been uploaded to YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aeqmd4gbHUg
  23. It will be subbed by DCTP when it is released.
  24. It's your birthday! Have a great one!
