  1. A new OVA featuring the Detective Boys has been announced! Very little is known about this OVA as of now, but check back on this thread and the wiki page here for any new announcments. And thank you to Skyechan for always being the first to update the wiki with news!
  2. Like always, DCTP will be translating this movie. It'll be out in all its glory by October of this year, which is still a ways away unfortunately. But it can't be helped as that's when the DVD comes out and it's extremely difficult to rip the high quality version of the movie from the theaters anyway. And as for the difference between football and soccer, there is none. Well, in a sense. If you want to get technical, association football is the same as soccer. Football itself (according to Wikipedia) refers to a number of sports that involve kicking a ball into a goal (for example, things like rugby and kemari technically count). Soccer is used only when the term "football" is reserved for something else entirely (ex. America, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand). If you're wondering where Japan stands, association football/soccer is called サッカー (sakkā), so Japan would most accurately fall under the "soccer" group of countries.

  4. Reading a book for school called "Rebecca" by Daphne du Maurier. It isn't half bad.
  5. I find that happens to me, too. Route 111 -- Pokemon RSE (because Pokemon music never goes out of style)
  6. *has nostalgia overload* Ah, memories...
  7. There's been quite a bit of support for movie 11 recently it seems... Well, better than movie 14 at least.
  8. I take a look at the spoilers, yes, I will admit that, but my Chinese isn't good enough for me to actually "read" it. I just skim through the pages to see if there's anything that catches my eye, but I wait for DCTP to translate the chapter instead of reading the premature translations many people post. I guess I'm kinda in between, though it would be nice if there was a separate thread, just saying.
  9. Thanks for the add! I'm happy to accept and greatly appreciate it!

  10. Hurrah! Three years! Congrats DCW and thank you Maurice!
  11. Welcome to DCW, both of you! I'm sure you'll both enjoy yourselves here!
  12. Ooh, from DCTP, eh? That's great! The more the merrier! This place isn't as lively as DCTP, but our wiki is top-notch! Hope you enjoy yourself!
  13. It seems you've already gotten yourself used to DCW, but I guess I might as well welcome you anyway! Have a great time!
  14. Welcome, welcome! I hope you check back here at DCW every once in a while! Have a wonderful time!
  15. That's quite the intro you'd got there! Well, I hope you continue to check back here and meet new people. It's always great to welcome a fellow DC fan!
  16. Welcome to DCW, even though it seems like you've already gotten yourself situated around here! Hopefully school work doesn't bog you down too much in the future!
  17. DCTP has finally released file 812 in English! File 813 coming soon!
  18. Accel World's ending theme: "→unfinished→" by KOTOKO
  19. Watched this French movie in French class not too long ago called "The Dinner Game" (or "Le Dîner de Cons" in French). It was actually really good.
  20. It's been a while since this thread has been posted on and by goly a whole new season has started! Might as well get this up and running. Let's see, a few anime for the spring of 2012 have caught my eye: - Accel World (I've seen the first two episodes and it looks promising) - Sankarea (watched the first episode and I'm willing to give it a try) - Tasogare Otome x Amnesia (the first episode is out and I'm planning on watching it really soon) - Jormungand - Hyouka I've given myself a lot to keep track of, but each of these seems too good to pass up just yet.

    Gosick

I was flipping through old posts and found this sad little thread with no replies. Thought I'd revive it considering I particularly loved this anime. I started watching this show quite some time after it finished airing only because I wasn't all that into anime back then. But after watching all 24 episodes, I have to say this is one of the best detective anime of all time. The mysteries aren't too simple or too complicated, and every arc (which is 2-3 episodes) has significant plot development. Not the mention the mysteries aren't at all repetitive like in Detective Conan. The characters are unforgettable and the music is phenomenal (especially the ending songs). The end is as dramatic and epic as you can get it and plot is so intricate it actually takes a second run through each episode to fully understand and appreciate it. I'd give this a 9/10, which is the highest I dare rank any anime. Definitely a must watch.
  22. I've watched most of Bakemonogatari. Personally, I'm not a huge fan. I'd give it a solid 7/10, but that's a score I give to just average anime shows. I wouldn't deter anyone from watching it, but I wouldn't support it either.
  23. Huh, well, I don't have a solid top 5, but I have a few strong ones I like: - Glaceon: This Pokemon has some pretty neat combos. The abilities work great with Hail, Blizzard is unstoppable with 100% accuracy and STAB, and Galceon's EV trained Sp. Attack is insane. 'Nuff said. - Gengar: A notoriously famous Pokemon used in competitive battles, the options are expanded even further in Gen V. Step 1: EV train Sp. Attack. Step 2: Teach it Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Hex, and Nightmare. Step 3: Let the destruction begin. - Starmie: Another old school Pokemon that is great for the Battle Tower or whatnot. With an EV trained Sp. Attack, Surf (which also gets STAB), Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt will cover a lot of types for you. And of course Recover won't hurt in tight situations. - Machamp: Finally, a physical sweeper. This guy has equally insane Attack as Glaceon and Gengar have Sp. Attack. Make sure it has No Guard as the ability, and EV train accordingly. Teach it Dynamicpunch and Cross Chop (for both 100% accuracy, thanks to No Guard, and STAB). Have Earthquake and Stone Edge as backup. You now have a killing machine. - Pseudo-Legendaries: If trained right, these things can top most other Pokemon. There's too many to go through one by one, but if you know about Pokemon enough then you won't need a full explanation anyway.

    Angel Beats!

That's the one plot hole that's keeping me from ranking this a perfect 10/10. Otherwise, it's still a very strong 9/10.
