    Manga to anime changes

    • Due to changes in the previous episode, Onimaru tests his power on the stone latern at his courtyard, which makes the Raijin sword react. This also makes Musashi appear earlier in anime than in the manga (in the manga, the Raijin sword only reacts when Onimaru used his power to fight Yaiba).
    • Instead of a Raijin statue in the secret basement in the manga, a Raijin altar is located near Musashi's house in the anime, thus the severed arm of Raijin's statue is not adapted.
    • The conclusion of Yaiba's training in the manga happened before Onimaru's transformation. In the anime, it happens afterwards.
    • An original scene is added in the anime where the school principal, Mr. Sudo (Sayaka's teacher in the manga), and other teachers panickedly watch the fight between Yaiba and Onimaru (both the principal and Mr. Sudo's appearances are omitted from the previous 2 episodes, which makes this episode their first appearance).
    • While the anime adapts the manga scene where Kenjuro explains the Raijin sword, it excludes the scene where he touched Sayaka's bottom, and changed it to a remark about his son "growing up."
    • The eight demon statues are now located in the secret basement instead of the manga's depiction of them being in a cave in Mount Fuji.
    • The anime excludes the scene where Raizo and Shizuka reacts to Sayaka's "kidnapping" by Yaiba after being told by Kenjuro.
    • In the manga, when Yaiba was possessed by Raijin, he destroyed Musashi's house. However, the new anime decide to include it in Episode 4 during the fight with Gerozaemon. As the result, the following house-rebuilding scene is not adapted.
    • After being warned by Musashi that Yaiba doesn't have the ability to wield the Raijin sword with his current strength, the new anime has Yaiba determine that he will not lose to Raijin and will successfully use the sword to fight Onimaru.
      • In the manga, he had to ask Musashi what to do before being tricked to rebuild Musashi's house as a part of "training," which later was followed by another scene at night where Musashi said that he has hope in Yaiba (the latter is adapted into Episode 4).
