Plot
Manga to anime changes
The anime adapts the whole Volume 6 into one episode. As the result, major changes are made:
- The new anime made the group divided into three, and each group faces one Devil Kings. In manga, the group faced Yakitori-kun first, then Chamaleon Bonaparte, and the last being Dorai Dorai.
- Kagetora, Shonosuke, Gerozaemon, and Namako-otoko was captured between and during the fights in manga. It doesn't happen in the anime.
- As Yaiba is mainly involved in the fights in manga, most of his fight scenes against Yakitori-kun and Tortoise Europa are not adapted (including many Tortoise Europa's transformations; Yaiba and Kojiro turned into old man).
- Namakon kick is used against Chameleon Bonaparte instead of Dorai Dorai in manga.
- The appearances of Ana Shioji and her cameraman are cut from anime.
Trivia
- The scene where Sayaka points out Chameleon Bonaparte disguising as Yaiba is a reference to Detective Conan. Character designer Yoshimichi Kameda suggested the director to use the same sound effect that played when Conan deduced the culprit.[1]
