I keep getting involved with these experiments. But I guess I had a reason this time. It wasn't difficult taking down Sakila's pursuers. Hired thugs: certainly not a large threat, even if my melee prowess has been weakened. He pulled both thugs aside, woke one up, then pointed a gun at his forehead and conducted an quick "interrogation". That was one thing he was always good at; he knew what made people tick. So, they're trying to recapture all the experiments and scientists that worked at the Habitat. Looks like this is going to get difficult. Jae sighed, then shot both thugs. And I just wanted to settle down for a while. I guess that'll have to wait. He looked at Sakila's unconscious figure, then sighed. Jae knew where the experients were gathered: a rather obscure safehouse. He took Sakila, slung her over his shoulder, and groaned. Either I'm weak, or she's really heavy! He managed to return her to the safehouse, making sure no one tailed him or noticed him. He was about to walk back out of the woods when he noticed a group of suspicious figures, obviously searching for the safehouse. For the second time in this post, Jae sighed. It's like they always know where they are. Insider agent? But more importantly, should I go help? Jae snuck up behind a straggler about to enter the safehouse, and tapped his shoulder. He coursed a bit of electricity through the man, and he fell unconscious. He dragged the man's unconscious body, quickly took his uniform, his weapon. Then he dived through the bush himself, and quickly caught up to the group. He quickly dealt out a few apologies, and the group was suspicious, but no one recognized him. Well, that's great. Guess I'll just follow these guys for a bit.

==============Plot============== Another ordinary day at school. Class is about to begin. You set down your books, and get ready for another boring day. Little do you realize that you will soon wish for another boring day instead... Near the end of class, the doors suddenly slam shut and lock, and all the windows close. All of your classmates look around in confusion. A few of them try to open the doors and the windows, but fail. Panic sets upon all of you. What in the world is going on? A deep voice emanates from the wall. “Hello, everyone. No, escape is useless,” the voice boomed as a few students attempted to break the windows or tear down the doors. “You cannot escape from this classroom, which will now become your prison. Unless, you win my game.” Nervous chatter sets upon yourselves. One student proclaims, “F**k you, man!” What happened next typically only happens in horror movies: the student exploded, leaving his remains all over the classroom. “The game has already begun." “Fine, we’ll play your game. What are your rules?” The voice chuckled, amused at this question. “There are rules...but I cannot tell them to you. Good luck to all of you.” No rules? A game for your lives has begun... ==========How to signup========== Signups shall start at June 8, 2013, 12:00 A.M MDT. Jae held the wallet in his hand, then placed it in his pocket, and walked away from the experiments. Though he said he'd grown attached to them, it'd do them no good if he stayed around. One act of goodness doesn't redeem a person...just because I helped them in their time of need, doesn't mean they'll accept me. Besides, they found their path back to humanity. But I... Jae extended his hand, and concetrated. He felt a tingling sensation run through his fingers, and electricity coursed through his fingers. Apparently, part of my body fused with the machine, allowing me to generate electricity and exert it outside my body. But it also serves as my lesson, my curse: that I will never become fully human, because of my past sins. I guess I'll always be a freak, huh? Director, you always get the last laugh. But deep down, Jae knew. The Director didn't win. Not completely. Enough with the philosphical talk, Jae. It's not like you. Jae turned his thought to his family, his only living sibling: his sister. She called him a freak after the accident, and Jae guessed he was, and still is. But Jae had no where else to go. He had to find somewhere to live. ============================================================== (My concluding post. Let's wrap this up, guys. Great round, huh?)
-
"You heard them." Jae pointed the gun at the Director's head. "You're surrounded, doc." The Director frowned, but didn't turn around. "Et, tu, Jae? You and your group of comrades would betray me? Especially you, who I gave new life to? Without me, you would still be vegetating!" "Give me life? My life is mine alone, and you have no right to give what's already mine. As for these experiments, I've grown a bit attached to them. They suffered under your hands, just because of a pursuit to perfect mankind. These experiments have human consciences and hearts as well, doc. I'm like them: part-machine, part-human. Aren't I also just one of your experiments?" The Director turned around in his chair. "You are not like them..." he began, but Jae cut him off. "I'll shed your curse and take what's rightfully mine!" He pointed the pistol...at his own neck, at the small machine imbedded in his neck, the source of his troubles, and his true enemy. He fired, and slumped to the floor. The Director laughed. "Ha! Jae, you fool! Corrupted by them...huh?!" The last part was the result of Jae standing up, rubbing his neck. "Ah...that hurt. But I suppose baptism would hurt those of the devil, wouldn't it? I know what you're wondering: how is he standing without his machine? Well, doc, I've renounced my dependence from the machine, and now I'm no longer dependent on anything, not a machine, not you. Just myself." He pointed the gun at the Director and fired, witnessing the Director falling off his chair. "Sorry, doc, only one of us can live in this world." He turned around and walked to the exit.

Jae walked towards the fallen bird, looked at it quizzically. Jae wasn't very skilled at first aid, and it probably wasn't too necessary; Lionel, he knew, had the mysterious Z-blood, like Jae himself did. Somehow he felt a sense of familiarlty with the fallen experiment. Both of us...part human...mostly human. One of us became a bird, and the other became a machine. "Looks like this Frankenstein helped out when you needed it, huh?" Jae paused. Talking suddenly became natural...why? It started after I threw my wallet at Sakila... Jae left before Lionel could get up. He wasn't sure whether Lionel would attack him or not, and decided to bail. Out of sight, he decided to test something. He slammed his fist against the wall, and a burning sensation engulfed his hand. He quickly retracted and opened his fist. Pain. Am I...becoming human? Not now...I need my immunity to pain! He shook his head. Guess I'll have to make do. He walked towards the director's office. He twirled his gun around his finger. My body feels more fluid too...
-
"Bon soir, Sakila...7. Your appearance...doesn't hide what's inside." Jae stared at the experiment. "You've made it outside...I'm impressed, really." Jae coughed, then continued. "You really...are an animal...only caring for yourself. Your friends...are being slaughtered in there. Aren't you going to help?" Jae reached into his pocket and found his wallet, and threw it at the experiment. "My wallet...has some money. If you plan to stay...you'll need it. But if you plan to rescue them...my ID's in there as well...high clearance. It'll...be useful." Jae turned his head, then turned around, and did an odd gesture: he gave the experiment a thumbs up. He walked back inside the building and turned right. I hope she makes the right choice. Operation Deep needs her. Hmmm. Jae paused. I'm thinking like that one girl...Grace, was it? Huh. Perhaps I'm changing as well. Not that I care.
-
Jae made his rounds around the prisons, and stopped at one experiment's cage, raised the gun, and fired. Then he walked on as if nothing happened, leaving the experiments in shock. Might as well follow the Director's orders. I suppose it's to demoralize them, but if anything, it'll make them more riled up. Then again, that may be the Director's plan. Who has any idea. Not that I care. Jae wasn't too surprised at the relevation about 1 and 99, but it did upset him a bit. His son, and daughter, eh. Shame that I'll have to rip them both apart. Sorry, Director. He walked back to his clipboard, marking off a check mark by each experiment's name, with an exception: the one that was killed. Jae was somewhat aware of 93's various immunities, and thought it likely that she would be immune, but at the time, 93 was not on Jae's list of priorities. 93 may be useful later in Operation Deep. I'll have to make a note of that. He walked back to the prisons, stopping at another experiment - not 1; the Director would never forgive him if he did that to him, and such feelings would be unnecessary at the time - and pulling out a small serum. Berserker Serum. Within 5 minutes, any experiment injected with this serum will go completely berserk, gaining massive amounts of strength and tearing apart anything in sight. He neatly injected the experiment with the serum, cautiously opened the door with his key, and stepped away, watching the experiment begin to spasm. He did the same with two other experiments, then quickly retreated to the lab, where he kept A1 - his personal experiment. He unlocked the cage that kept A1, and A1 screeched and walked out. It expanded its large wings, and looked to its owner. Jae looked at A1 in the eyes. "It's time. Ready?" A1 screeched one more time. It took flight, and broke through the windows, flying out of sight. Jae pulled out a cell phone. "It's time," he said. "Operation Deep...go time." He hung up.
-
"I understand...I must thank you...for bringing this to my attention. You...will be rewarded." With that, Jae hung up his cell phone. Operation Jailbreak? Freedom? Such folly. Perhaps their animal sides are corroding their reason after all, inhuman beasts. But what does that make me? Merged with a machine...a cyborg? What separates me from them? ...Absolute power, and conviction. This is no time for philosophical debates. I must counter this Operation Jailbreak these mutants have conceived. Jae motioned to a guard to come to him. He whispered in his ear, and the guard recoiled in shock. "Are you sure, sir? That seems drastic!" Jae raised an eyebrow, then repeated himself. "Slaughter them all. Leave nothing alive." The guard nodded, and hurried to the others to inform them of the order. A few days ago, I wouldn't be able to order a mass execution. What a coincidence...and good luck that Director deemed the animal experiments unnecessary. We've been pursuing the wrong path the whole time, he said. Mixing our genes with animals only lowers us, not raises us, he said. I agree. Why turn ourselves into lower beings when we could merge with higher beings, more perfect, intelligent beings? Jae rubbed his neck, out of habit. Freedom. They'll get their freedom...rotting in hell. That is generous enough. End their suffering on our land. But...he wanted that experiment alive. That one. Why is the Director so obsessed with 1? Xero? ================================================== ... :V

"You...are already a monster," Jae strained. Blinking was annoying enough, but speaking required the specific coordination of his mouth and vocal chords, making it doubly straining. Hence why Jae didn't speak often. "So...how can you threaten...to become a monster...when you already are?" Jae gestured at the scientists to get moving, then turned his attention to the experiment. "You...misunderstand...your position. You...are just an experiment...an abomination of nature...a side-effect of our quest." Jae felt the machine hum in his neck, increasing its electrical output. He moved forward with lightning speed, dealing a powerful blow to the experiment's neck, then backing away quickly. He got in three more punches before the experiment could react, then put his arm to his sides. "But...don't worry. But this experiment...won't hurt your friend...I think. But there's...always unknowns...in an experiment." Jae lifted his eyebrow, then walked away. After hearing that her comrade was "endangered", she would likely react. It's an obvious instinctual reaction. Her speech patterns suggested that she acted not on orders but impulse, so she didn't hear from 1...and her reaction suggests she knows of the previous experiments. Experiments. So high and mighty do they see themselves. But they're not. They're not even human.
-
Jae blinked. Even blinking was a tedious task; Jae needed to consciously blink through the machine. As far as he was concerned, he was the small machine embedded in his neck. He watched the experiments. He saw 99 being growled at by a group. Jae didn't know the experiments' names, and he didn't care. They aren't human after all... He saw 7 eavesdropping near the vent, then in a hurry, rush over to 1. Interesting. Jae knew the vent allowed the experiments to listen into scientist conversation, but for 7 to be in such a hurry, it must've eavesdropped on scientists talking about "The Plan". He made a note to reprimand the scientists who leaked the information; though, it didn't really matter if the experiments figured out "The Plan"; any prevention effort could be easily put down. It was helpful that the experiments didn't figure out, but more importantly, he had to keep the other scientists in check. Jae couldn't account for potentially more devastating leaks across the road; better to keep the scientists in line now, where the secrets are weak and exposure wouldn't be damaging. Better safe than sorry... The other experiments weren't too interesting, though Jae took a glance at 99, but quickly looked away; he didn't want 1 to potentially notice his interest. 1. That experiment bugged him. Too sharp. He was the only real threat among the experiments. Jae wanted to put him down, but the Director himself said that he was too important. Too important... So, Jae was restricted to watching 1. He looked for even the smallest incidents that Jae could use as a reason to eliminate 1, but 1 was too cautious. Like Jae. Like me... The damn experiments. They're not even human... Jae rubbed his neck. He looked back at the groups of experiments. He looked at 1. 99. 7. The vent. And I'm so jealous...

The DCW IRL Moderator Signup Thread mentions it, but we will be doing something special for the 10th round. Likely. Most definitely. It will be exciting, though at this point in time I have no idea what it is. Maybe.
-
Good morning, Misaki. Start up your DCW IRL round soon, OK?

DCW IRL Round 7: Weasel and Bunny
tengaku squared replied to Kaitou Kid Legendary Thief's topic in Chatroom
Great round from everyone! Yes, KKLT, I do read this. -
Aww, thanks for the birthday wishes. Huh, I got 4. That's an unlucky number.
-
This is just a minor complaint, and it's only really affects me, because I keep track of who participated where, but anyway; should I replace peoples' usernames (ex. Akai Sera --> Sparrow) when they change them, or should I leave them as is? I did already replace the ones already archived, but I want to know if people like it, or they think it's unnecessary.
-
Something extremely urgent has come up; I'm sorry I couldn't get in contact with you before, but I would like you to finish the round in my stead.

(@Kley: You don't have any more troops loyal to you.)

"Ahaha! That's wonderful, girl, but you're a bit late to the spot!" Yi smirked, then pulled out two knives. "Your family connections and bloodline don't matter here, in this ruined world. We go by merit. And merit picks me!" She pointed at herself. "I am in charge of the Armed Forces!" She looked around, then sighed. "Girl, I'll show you something." She pulled out several more knives, and threw them...at Petya's forces, killing them. "There's going to be some changes in the Armed Forces. Too much incompetence under Greyfield, but all that is about to end." She glared at Petya. "You are dismissed from the Armed Forces. If I see your face again, I will have your head and put it up on my wall as a decoration." She looked at Sakila. "Could you do this? You know nothing about our world. You are too soft. Despicable." "And hear this, rebels. I have no animosity towards you, personally. However, the missile launches will still go as planned. You don't have much time left. We will retreat!" She motioned towards her troops, and they marched off. T watched from above. "Oh my. This looks interesting. I suppose this will be worth watching."

A spark went off, and the smell of ozone came into the air. Waylon came down straight from the sky, landing on the ground neatly in front of Ash and Sakila. He cracked his neck, then sneered. "To think I'd meet both birds here. Ha!" A bolt of electricity went down his body. He looked distastefully at Petya. "You got the useless general. Honestly, he knows pretty little, so it'd be better to kill him, pop him, or," he put his two hands apart and created electricity between his two palms, "zap him like this." He put his hands in his pockets. "I'm not interested in you, Ash, so will you leave Sakila and me?" He pointed at Ash and a jolt of electricity went to Ash, paralyzing her. Waylon walked up to Sakila, and escorted her to another part of the area. He looked around, then said, "I'm here to make an offer on behalf of T. T would like to offer you a position in the Intelligence Services, and he promises power beyond your current limits if you accept. But more importantly, I'll tell you something." "This is information that Brent didn't want to get to you, which tells you how much of a scumbag he is. Your parents," he paused, pleased at her reaction, then continued, "are alive and in the Intelligence Services." He recalled the story. "Your parents were badly injured by an attack after Brent formed his battalion, and he left them to die. We picked them up and recovered them. They are now safe and sound." "Work for us, and you can see your parents again." He paused, then continued. "Should you choose to do so, I'd like you to do one last thing before you go, just to prove your loyalty." He pulled out a blue pistol, and handed it to Sakila. "This gun negates the ability of anyone who is shot by its bullets for 24 hours, and it's still deadly. I would like you to kill Mokou. You have 1 week." He jumped onto a wall, used his powers to stick onto the wall, and climbed up the wall and disappeared. ================================================================= (It's your choice, Sakila. Do note that the IS will be watching you, and if you don't do it within a week...)
-
"Oh, that's quite touching, Sparrow. You interfere with my plans? I find that a bit hard to believe." T watched the scene from above, hidden from sight. "I suppose you are still necessary for my plan, so I'll let you live." T frowned. "I think its about time for me to mobilize my second pawn, Blackbird. Blackbird and Sparrow, you two will both start this war, whether you like it or not. Waylon," he called. Waylon walked up to T. T handed him a file with "Sakila" written on it. "I will leave you in charge of this one." Waylon nodded, smirked, then walked away. "Fascinating, battles. Show me something interesting, my pawns, or I will have to exterminate all of you." He then vanished. ===================================== (Looking good, so far. Remember the missiles launch in a week!)
