  1. "However, Sharon was the only one Shinichi had a connection with, and she is apparently dead. Sharon’s daughter Chris has never met Shinichi and is estranged from Sharon Vineyard so she alone doesn't have an adequate motive to protect Shinichi. Also, it wouldn’t make sense for Chris Vineyard, who isn’t a family friend like Sharon, to be able to recognize Shinichi as Conan; presumably Vermouth saw young Shinichi with Yukiko when she was Sharon."
  2. DCTP has been on and off down all day :/

  4. Shiho wasn't forced to work for the BO. She worked willingly the whole time up until Akemi died. She didn't try to escape or do anything to harm the BO, and when Akemi died even then she simply boycotted. She didn't try to contact authorities. Then she tried to commit suicide. Even now she still shows some residual loyalty; she hasn't betrayed the identities of the BO members to Conan (she knows some of them), or their sources of funding (she knows some of them), or much other info that would help Conan. She thinks Conan might do something stupid with the info sure, but she could have, say, explained the goal of her project to him without risking Conan running off and doing something stupid. Unfortunately, as many militias who kidnap children have proven, when you control a child's mind and development, you pretty much own the child's loyalty and they will be willing to practically die for you. It's lucky Shiho managed to break free from her BO mindset at all. That was probably her sister's influence. As for the parents, I don't know what their status it, but I doubt the BO conspired to kill them. I have an info sheet on them over at DCTP which you can find if you click in the link in my sig. Someone individually inside the BO might have killed them (like Vermouth), or they genuinely had an accident, or they committed suicide. Even a high ranking member like Pisco who was close with them thinks it was a accident, so it leads me to think it wasn't a BO wide-conspiracy.
  5. You don't seem to be thinking about how this would work. Sure you can copy prints, but then you have some big bulky thing the print is on that is mostly useless. You could try to attach a rubber gel or something to your fingertips, but it doesn't produce fingerprint oil like real fingers. Most types of things you could attach on the fingers would make them look drumsticks. Finally hands take a lot of abuse. Unless you get a really durable band-aid, they tend to fall off right away. Anything that scratches or rubs the fake fingerprint even slightly too hard will destroy it. Maybe something like this would work one off for a very short time. On a movie set, no. You are missing some of Conan's logic. You should check the wiki.
  6. Finally this guy shows up again. Also, I think Sera's little thought bubble pretty much indicates she got Conan as Shinichi figured out, and is trying put Ai together. Haibara calls Okiya, "Subaru-kun". Sounds like an improvement somehow despite the Okiya nearly pulling a gun and scaring her a bit. Amuro takes the day off and scar Akai appears in front of the Detective agency when Sera is around. Well now we know for sure Sera isn't scar Akai and Okiya isn't scar Akai. We have the obvious choice and a third party left... Sera is blushing when thinking about Amuro. She could be faking it, but the characters in Gundam they were based off of did have a pretty close relationship so... Somehow I don't think Akai would approve if he saw this conversation. And we can't forget Sera's someone who never laughed...
  7. Why would the BO want to assassinate their own researchers who are working on the really important APTX project? Do you think they tried to betray the BO?
  8. Exactly how does "duplicated it and made Chris use it" physically work? The technique actually has to exist in real life to be somewhat plausible. You are going to have to explain how this is obvious. She is a master of disguise. The only reason Jodie found out was because of her catchphrase. The FBI can use prints from years ago and get multiple prints from multiple sources. How can the Org possibly forge prints everywhere the FBI might check? If someone in the BO knew about the spectacles, they would know who brought them: Jodie. Vermouth was trying to find Jodie to kill her, but she was hidden in witness protection. If there was an Org spy in the FBI, why didn't Vermouth use him to find Jodie? And don't forget, besides the FBI's deductions, there are Conan's deductions to consider. He also came to the conclusion Sharon is Chris. You can read about it on the wiki.
  9. You can't go back in time to change fingerprints. Vermouth didn't intend to leave the set on the glasses so they are the real deal. She thought they were going to be destroyed when the house was burnt down. Fastforward, Vermouth didn't know Jodie was trying to get a sample of her Chris and Sharon fingerprints to see if they matched the sample from 20 years ago because Vermouth had no idea the sample from 20 years ago even existed. Considering the FBI can use their power to take in secret anything that the Vineyards ever touched (movie props, autographs, chairs, coins, etc), its impossible to defend against an attack like this, and its even more impossible to defend against an attack she didn't know was happening.
  10. No one has ever said anything about the specific cause of death in the canon, guaranteed.
  11. You should fix your vote then. You are still registered under Okiya is Bourbon. Well there is this really long and rather popular theory...
  12. I think that Amuro is right handed, while Akai seems to be left-handed. Amuro/Akai would have to use a relatively long term, even coloring, abuse tolerating disguise that darkens his skin color. Tanning is one method, but it is difficult to get a tan with complete coverage. (in the folds of the ears, on the scalp.) How dark is Amuro's skin anyway? A skin stain to darken skin on the hands, face, and neck is possible, but difficult and would likely require a professional to apply which leaves a witness. A mask would work for the face and neck (who would make these masks though?), but waitering involves hand abuse and spilled liquids and there is no such thing as a latex mask for hands. Assuming Conan helped with the plan to fake Akai's death (likely because of the cellphones) it is strange that Conan shows no recognition of Amuro if Amuro is Akai. Even if Akai had hidden his role from Conan, you would think something would have tipped off Conan by now. If Amuro was Akai, then there would be no need to test Kogoro's intelligence because Akai knows about Conan's gadgets and intelligence already. Some of Amuro's decisions would also seem uncharacteristic for Akai. Not mentioning something to Ran or Kogoro about Conan disappearing at the same time as a murderer is one. Akai has had to directly or indirectly bail Conan out twice for getting in over his head (Vermouth and Org vs FBI), so trusting Conan to be safe wouldn't be expected. Another would be coming very close to having an innocent suspect accused, assuming Amuro threw the exploding car case on purpose. The motive for becoming Mouri's apprentice is also unclear if Amuro is Akai. Couldn't he move in nearby or stick with working part time in Poirot without becoming an apprentice? Why not start working directly at the Poirot instead of going through another restaurant? Why leave Haibara out of the picture? After this case, I would worry about Amuro bugging the detective agency now that he has had access (albeit short).
  13. Showing work in physics will save your arse when you have to back and try to find a mistake or need to study for a test and are looking back over old material. Most teachers will also accept shortcuts. In the middle of a solution it's not uncommon for me to write that I looked up the integral in a table because I didn't want to derive it. (Although it does keep you fresh when you have to derive integrals. I've slipped a bit :C)The other things that helps in physics is using the units to help guide you through the steps to the answer. (The Rydberg constant (1/distance) helps you go from principal quantum numbers (unitless) to wavelength (distance). If the question relates to diffusion and my answer needs to be in time and I start with a concentration gradient (distance related), I'm going to need the diffusion constant D somewhere!)
  14. DCW title suggestion

    Chief of Forensics

It might encourage people to ask you questions. Also, there is an osteology class being offered in the anthro dept. would you recommend it?

  15. I can definitely agree with pointing users to the search function. I think you handled this one well. :D

  16. I think Sera was using Ran here. Sera deliberately phrased her response to end with "Right, Ran-chan!" to put Ran on the spot and encourage her to answer back "right". When put on the spot like how Ran was, most people would say "Right" (although unconvincingly), even if they had no idea what the other person was talking about (which is what Ran thought). It's a cheap way to recruit a fake supporter! You should try it. As long as you are not too outrageous, you can get your friends (especially distracted ones) to agree to some funny things.
  17. I'm down with this way of doing things. Teach a man to fish...
  18. That's not a fact. Also why wouldn't they try to take their daughters with them if they did go into witness protection? It's unbelievably cruel to think they left their kids to the Org, especially given how Elena seems genuinely nice.
  19. You seem to be assuming that it is Kogoro/Ran/Conan's trust. It could also be Vermouth's trust instead. This line is way too classic-Gosho-unusably-ambiguous to make many assumptions. We can safely assume that Vermouth and Bourbon are closely connected, someone's trust is involved and it is related to the current incident, Bourbon promised something to Vermouth, and Vermouth expects him to uphold that promise. That's about it.
  20. I'm locking this topic because we have similar threads about which male and female character are your favorite. Favorite Characters (poll) Favorite Characters (no poll) Favorite Female Character Favorite Male Character Most attractive woman in DC? Most attractive man in DC?
  21. I thought the ding was him receiving a call soon after putting his earphone in. He could be looking in the rear-view mirror, but it would have been better if the review mirror was actually shown in the panel. I'll amend the theory with the possibility though.
  22. Bourbon's identity thread is here:
  23. Just don't spam to get there. Titles are less important than meeting the community and having fun.
  24. I tried fixing the poll again. Maybe it will work this time
