I noticed the same thing about MI2, especially with those neck voice changers.

Stabbing mystery from Detective Conan
Chekhov MacGuffin replied to tornadoz01's topic in Detective Conan World
This is the wrong subforum for this topic. Maybe try the chatroom or the fanfiction area? -
Beat me to it. This is exactly the reference Gosho was making. He did a special color image with Gin and Vodka commenting on their "newest member" R[L]um-chan. This is the best version I can find. I'm detoxing after the latest showdown. I'll start commenting when I can read the whole showdown case through without facepalming at any point.

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 894-898 (Scarlet Series)
Chekhov MacGuffin replied to Black Demon's topic in Manga series
I too am questioning Amuro's allegiance based on some of the recent developments. To be clear, I don't think he is a good guy (e.g. a law enforcement infiltrator like Kir), based on what he has done so far. His tactics to lure out Akai are too extreme to be professional. I would expect being raised by or near the Organization would have rubbed off on him some. That doesn't preclude Amuro though from making associations later in life with law enforcement (see Date) that might have altered his allegiance or created chances for him to pursue his own goals behind the Organization's back. We also have Conan's thoughts to think about: Amuro didn't aim to kill Shiho on the train. Conan wouldn't have mentioned it if it wasn't important. Conan doesn't know about Amuro and Elena, but there may be more to it than simply "protect Shiho because I knew Elena". I have a feeling that Amuro is badly misguided somehow. If Amuro does have associations outside the Black Org, I think he might have used them now. In the latest chapter, Amuro's friends (not the reporters in front of the Kudo house) who attempted to intercept the FBI were carrying revolvers rather than pistols. Revolvers tend to be more associated with the police, while the BO we have seen tend to prefer pistols. They also aren't wearing black. Finally, it's unlikely Amuro would have any allies in the BO right now because his theories about Akai being alive are only known to Vermouth and not too popular within the BO. Amuro put Vermouth in a hard spot, so she is not inclined to help. None of these are decisive, but together they do present the suggestion Amuro is using outside help who may be law enforcement of sorts. Random idea, but what if Amuro is in the process of being cultivated as an informant on the Org by the Japanese secret police? Maybe he was discovered while at police academy because he had parents with secret police and someone recognized him or something like that. I'm going to guess he might be an orphan or similar because usually a child wouldn't run to Elena for treatment if his parents were still around. Maybe Amuro has some misconception about Shuuichi's allegiance, or Shuuichi killed someone for the Organization who turned out to be Japanese police and close to Amuro? The Japanese police might help Amuro if their interests align in order to encourage his cooperation with them. A status as informant would explain this sort of hybrid "does some good things, but still helps the Organization approach" Amuro has been using. -
[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 894-898 (Scarlet Series)

The cell notification that Yuusaku won is definitely important to something. I am not convinced Ran and Kogoro's timeline is happening at the same time as what we are seeing at the Kudo house. Maybe some clock checking could confirm that. I have a feeling Okiya is using a mike, just like Hattori in the Vermouth arc. The actions with the hand in front of the mouth and coughing are too similar. Someone is speaking for Okiya, and Okiya is blocking his mouth to keep Amuro from noticing this. The face mask is a distraction to keep Amuro from noticing that Okiya's voice is being projected and he is not saying the words. At the same time Yuusaku might be relaying what to say to whoever is disguising as Yuusaku (Yukiko?) in America. That would explain the amount of equipment in Conan's hideyhole. He has to coordinate a chain of voices, plus keep an eye on the FBI... If Shuuichi is asking for Camel to keep the speed and direction steady, it might be to set up for some quick sniping at the chasing cars rather than a jump like I first thought. I want to know why Shuuichi thought Amuro would go after the FBI agents (and how both he and Amuro knew they would go driving) instead of someone like Sera. Also, I am a bit concerned that Amuro's friends aren't wearing any black. There is no reason that lower level agents are bound to wear black, but it's just a detail that concerns me. (And those guys in front of the Kudo house are definitely news/paparazzi. Look at their vans.) I am not sure about where Conan is. It looks like a small space. Chapter 900 might be reserved for the moment that Sera/Ai meets Akai. -

To be fair, I don't think a lot of people think the Okiya before Scarlet Showdown was Shuuichi only part of the time as you propose. I've seen you and maybe one other person try to run with the idea, and right now, there is no one at DCTP talking about it. Most of the few people who noticed any right-handed action from Okiya prior to now chalked it up to sometimes characters use their off hand, or trying to fool Sera while she is around. There is interest about handedness in this case because many people think Okiya is someone else in disguise, which gives Akai the freedom to move. That's why it is coming up again. -

They do update the music periodically. The change you are talking about might correspond to when they switched over to the soundtracks you can hear on the "selection best" OST.

I had a user complain they couldn't upload a profile picture. I tried to change my current picture as a test by both uploading one from my computer and the web, and got this error. The error when trying to use a url is either "The entered URL doesn't appear to be valid" or no notification at all, it just fails. Urls tested are http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img717/9093/oioimini.png and http://i.imgur.com/DSh5Yy2.png Ultimately I was unable to change my profile pic.

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 894-898 (Scarlet Series)
Chekhov MacGuffin replied to Black Demon's topic in Manga series
I don't have time to a point by point rebuttal, Glass, but my instinct is that you are reaching too far, trying to make the situation more complicated than the clues suggest it is for the sake of having a complex solution. If you you want me to take a look at a particular point of the theory, I'll do so. -
I tried a "clue gallery" in the mystery train article as a test of the clue list concept a while back. I put it in the spoilers area because it is more of an explanation of the clues. I also put a motive summary in as well, to get the feel of a "solution infobox". My conclusion doing that is that any template needs to have the option to be picture free. Tracking down pictures for all the clues will be damn hard, but listing them in text will be much easier on users. Overall, I endorse the idea. If I were going to do an infobox, I would probably arrange it something like... I might also consider coming up with some way to add numbers of something so there is a link to which clue corresponds to what description, but I haven't come up with a good idea how to do that.

Based on that list I have been keeping on the personal wiki page, Subaru is left handed, as much as Gin is. -
[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 894-898 (Scarlet Series)
Chekhov MacGuffin replied to Black Demon's topic in Manga series
In Yuusaku's cold case, Okiya switched hands as soon as Masumi appeared; however, he had knowledge of a conversation "Kinichi" that only the "left handed" Okiya would know. The simplest explanation that fits the facts is that Okiya pretended to be right handed to throw Masumi off. The one on the train should be the real Okiya, because the real Shuuichi appeared to toss a grenade while wearing the same clothes that Okiya is wearing. He also had Masumi's hat which was last seen in Masumi's room when Okiya was laying her down. It disappeared from her room and was found in the hallway later. Masumi became suspicious about who was wearing it. Left handed characters do occasionally do things with their right hands. It is the aggregate you have to look for. I do believe the Scarlet Showdown Okiya is someone else, but not just because of his slightly different appearance (different glasses, + thinner shoulders), but because there is some foreshadowing, a good reason (Conan wants the real Akai to be free to move instead of pinned down by Bourbon in case rescuing is needed), and his behavior seems off -- seen especially in the strong negative reaction when Bourbon drags Conan into his explanation. I think Amuro was wrong about the "Shuuichi escaping in Kir's car" part too. I think he bailed over the side of Raiha Pass at a safe part, sort of like how Camel dealt with it earlier. There was a thin gap in the rail where Shuuichi pulled up (right by the bush), and Shuuichi pulled up from the wrong direction so that he would be on the rail side. I don't believe that will be coincidence. It is also the perfect escape path for Jodie and Camel now that they are being chased, provided they can piece together the clues and have the courage to take Shuuichi's path to safety in the dark. I'm pretty sure they will. -
Parts of videos are perfect. We do let the no full videos issue slide for people trying to identify OSTs. The mods delete them once the OST is identified. I've found this one for someone else before. It's "The Facts (Tenmatsu)", the 15th soundtrack from the Captured in Her Eyes OST.

Gin was never shown to be speaking on the phone to the boss. As far as we know Gin is text only. @Zeaos, search the wiki for guestbook to find the pictures.
-
Dunno. Maybe the boss would shock Haibara because they have some weird condition. If the boss was stuck in the body of a child because of some accident, that would be pretty surprising.

Fixed it! Sometimes the double post problem happens. Welcome to DCW, Ki-RBT! It's an exciting time in the manga right now, so you definitely want to check out some stuff there. Also if you watched the anime only, you might to take a peek and the differences in the manga and anime page on the wiki to find out the things the animators changed! ... well that's one way to introduce yourself. ;

I have some more music. You can figure out the movie leitmotif from these. It's kind of dark IMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Imf4zmmLEA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7jDL4Pn0sg

Gin probably would have killed Conan for real if he knew he was in there because has no reason to hold back against Conan. I think the point of the scene was to showcase the limits of Gin's logic so the viewer knows what his weaknesses are. Gin is smart and savvy, but he is conventional. Gin is not an out-of-the-box type thinker who will say to himself "when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth". His instinct was right in the locker room, but then his brain kicked in; he told himself he was being silly because the truth he was groping for --the enemy was not an adult and could fit in the locker-- was too out of range for him.
