  1. Thanks a bunch! :D

    How are you doing?

  2. I'd just like to mention that the way it works in the system is that ranks are only based on the number of posts. I can't assign specific ranks depending on the group a user is in. This means that we can't have 3 groups of rankings. We can have 3 groups but the ranking will be common to all 3. Basically, at 1000 posts, the member will have the same rank regardless of the group. Example: Detective. Like I said in another post, I could create an add-on but that may end up being too much trouble down the road. It'd be best to go with something simpler for now. But I like the ideas you guys gave with the names and all that. I'll keep thinking about a good ranking scale too.
  3. What do you see exactly on your droid? Does it show the original wiki site? I'm curious: do you see the iPhone skin (like on the pictures in the first post)? Or do you see the original wiki skin layout? Or something different maybe? And could you take a screenshot too maybe? That would be awesome! Thanks.
  4. You did give some nice ideas. But it is true that the "Active posts", groups and "tracking of groups" are not straightforward to code (for one, because I wish to avoid modifying the forum's source code, which would then make ugprading a nightmare). I could create a forum add-on but it would take a lot of time and, once again, it would become harder to update the forum since I'd need to update the add-on every time to make it compatible. But, there's been some good ideas in that thread. I'll probably end up using a simple, yet original, ranking system (with images/icons and all that). Should be cool hopefully. I was also wondering the same thing and went through the whole configuration set. The only option I could find that's kind of close to what you're looking for is the possibility to click on a reputation number at the bottom of a post (does NOT work from a user's profile page) and it will tell you who upped the post. So, you'd still have to go through your posts and whenever you see that you've been given some reputation points, you could just click on the number and it'd show you who voted for the post. But, since you can do that for ANY post, not just yours, I just think it's a bit too much as a feature cause I'd hate to see a "reputation competition" (or war?) going on with alliances and people voting for each other, etc.. That's really not what this forum is for. Hence, why I'd probably not enable it. However, what I might end up doing in the near future is grant this privilege to donators (as well as an ad-free site) cause I had to recently upgrade the system by getting a separate virtual private server for the database (the traffic is getting bigger). So, it's getting slightly more expensive for me. Nothing to worry about for now though but the extra help would be nice. Yes! It's definitely possible! I linked my facebook and twitter accounts with my DCW account and now I can synchronize both as I wish. I can post statuses here and have them posted on fb and twitter and vice-versa. There are also more options and features to explore there. Just check out your account settings to configure your facebook and twitter accounts (and link them if you haven't yet).
  5. Hello Vicky! How are you doing today? ^_^

I'm also a Web Developer btw! For how long have you been into designing?

  6. Yeah, I noticed that too. I just changed it back to green. But this will eventually change again once we determine our new ranking system (from the thread in the Ideas and Feedback forum).
  7. I'm doing good! What about yourself?

Btw, I was asking earlier cause I was wondering if it was because of DCW itself. But if it's for personal reasons, you definitely don't have to tell us. I just hope everything's good for you and that you come back if you do decide to take a break! :3

  8. Hello to you too! How are you? :)

  9. That's great! Keep up the good work! :)

I also saw that you changed some of the videos on the wiki with better quality ones. That's pretty cool too! :D

  10. Has anybody used the Facebook or Twitter connect yet? Like to register or post tweets from here? :o

  11. Yup, it does make sense. Very interesting concept! Did you release the game a while ago? I guess the challenge is to have people coming back to play cause I guess you can't have two or more Shinichi, Ran, (etc..) and if Shinichi or Conan (or other key characters) never shows up, it might not end up feeling too much like being in the DC universe. xD But I wish you luck cause I believe it's awesome to innovate like that and be creative. ^^ I'm also working on a web-based game around the detective world (avoiding the DC name to avoid copyrighting issues). The thread:
  12. Thanks for your support! I'm glad you guys like it!
  13. Hey Vicky! Welcome to DCW! I also believe I've seen your name on a few different forums. But yes, you're definitely in the right place here. Everyone here knows DC for sure haha! I quickly read a bit about the game you made but I'm not sure I completely get it. Do you like need to register for a character from the series and stick with it then interact with other characters on the forum? Anyway, it's really interesting to see ideas like that around the DC world. Always inspiring and it's great for fans! Enjoy your time here!
  14. I'm pleased to announce that our forum system was just upgraded to its latest version! Here's a summary of the changes and cool new features: More social-oriented. Facebook and Twitter connect integration: instead of registering, you can simply login with your Facebook or Twitter account and your account will be created automatically here for you. There will also be the possibility to have your tweets update here and/or vice-versa (I'd need to look into that). Big overhaul of the profile and statuses systems. You can now comment on other people's statuses. Your profile will also show your latest statuses as well as your recent list of actions. It is also possible to see a list of all the latest status updates on a separate page. And much more... Nice-looking theme when browsing with a mobile device. You can also download the actual 'IP.Board Communities' application in the App store if you prefer. Improved searching interface. Improved notification system. Lots of fixes. And many more tweaks that you'll discover along the way. I hope you enjoy this update! Let us know if you have any feedback or ideas to further improve the site or the overall user experience. We're always open to improvements and your inputs are most welcome! Thank you! P.S: Don't forget to do a big refresh in your browser (Ctrl + R or Ctrl + F5)
  15. The wiki can now be accessed on smartphones. It won't be redirecting to Wikipedia anymore and a custom skin was implemented specially for iPhones. If using another type of mobile device, it'll simply show the normal wiki site. Note however that the skin is not perfect yet. I'm actually aware of a few styling and display issues already. They will eventually be solved in the near future. I hope you like this new feature and that you'll now be able to enjoy the wiki on the go! See some screenshots in attachment.
  16. Even better news! I just installed and heavily configured/tweaked a custom mobile skin so that it works and displays nicely here. It's not perfect but it should be so much nicer to navigate through the wiki on your iphone (mainly iphone compatible for now). Have fun (I know I will)!
  17. Yeah, it's been like that for quite a while. I planned to work on it at some point and make a full mobile version. I just never really got a chance to work on it. The good news is that, today, I fixed the redirect to Wikipedia. So now, at least you have access to the wiki from any mobile phone although the viewing experience is not optimal. I'll work some more on it in the future.
  18. Moved and revived thread for the wiki: http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/List_of_differences_between_the_manga_and_anime Feel free to list all major differences between the manga and anime here.
  19. Yeah. I was curious to know why you left. :o

  20. The only kind of pruning I might be doing is for old "Validating" accounts (i.e. members who tried to register but failed, didn't receive a confirmation email, etc...). This will free up usernames that no one can use anyway. Other than that, there won't be any accounts deletion going on. Just like sandii very well mentioned, DCW should only be a gathering place around DC for fun, not an obligation to contribute, post or feel threatened of getting deleted due to inactivity. I want to reassure everyone by giving our official stance on this. So now, you can all just relax and keep enjoying the world of DC!
  21. Hmm, what kind of question exactly? If it's something that everyone could benefit from, you can post in the Detective Conan World forum (above Introduce Yourself). If not, then post on my profile.

  22. Pretty good! How about yourself? :)

  23. Hello!! I'm doing pretty good! I'm really happy to see you around again! :) I always remember you as being the first Japanese who joined DCW haha. Where do you live in Japan btw? And thanks for adding me as a friend! So, how are you? How's school? Lots of DC fans in your classroom? :P

    Whodunit

Missing facts (unless I totally overlooked them o.O): - Cause of death? Was he stabbed or shot maybe? (since there's a puddle of blood on his bed) - By: Did you mean: Since he was dead at around 7pm. Some observations: - Yeah, I actually thought about the grip thing too. Since she's right handed she would have put her right hand at the top and left hand at the bottom since more pressure is applied to the top of the handle on ball impact. This is in contradiction with the location of the palm prints found on the racket. Therefore, there's a hole in her alibi story (her opponent probably lied). - Jii did not notify the police because of the snowstorm which started at 7:30pm, yet he entered the place around 7:47 to find the victim dead. Does that mean he disregarded the snowstorm to come the victim's house in the first place? And yet he did not bother reporting to the police? What about the phone btw? There weren't any phones in the house (or on him)? His reasons for not notifying the police are a bit shaky. As a hunch, I'd say the murderer is Lea since she seems to have fabricated her alibi, while the others haven't, which means that if one of the guys was the culprit, he hadn't prepared anything for his crime, which is pretty risky (he should normally have lied or flee the place if he really did commit the crime).
